@potter660 if you are talking about the US market- you are incorrect about the last year for the datsun badge. the 1984 200SX (S12) had that distinction- a 'datsun' emblem on the trunk lid. i believe the first US-spec car to have the nissan name on it was the 1981 'datsun by nissan' maxima. also, it was quality-control problems concerning US-built trucks and sentras that led to depressed sales figures during the late 80's and early 90's. the vast majority of US car buyers already knew of nissan.
@swimmerB0B Don't forget the ghastly Pulsar AKA Alfa Romeo Arna. That thing was a real POS. I would say the Vanette as well, but that didn't come until the early 90's. Of course being late to the minivan game didn't really help them. Truthfully, the cars weren't bad but the decisions the execs made were.
Cars that have character, Look good and and run great unlike modern Import Cars today they are terrible, In Australia Ill Take A Holden A Ford or an Aussie Built Mitsubishi Magna over any Import Vehicles because they are sturdy and have great warranties, I currently Drive a 1885 Xf Ford Falcon its an Australian Car and is a workhorse takes punishment and keeps on ticking, If Nissan made a new Datsun i would deffo Buy it.
Datsun was produseb by a company named dat. Dat produced smal economy trucks and vans during ww2. When the wars was over, they started producing ordinary cars and named them datsun. Nissan bought dat/datsun and produced them until 1980s. then they dropped the datsun name.
DATSUN, WE ARE DRIVEN!!! Their cars and pickups, model for model, were far better than comparable Toyotas of the day. And Toyota sales were running neck to neck with Datsun for first place among imports in the U.S. back then. Nissan made a BIG boo-boo changing the name to the 'corporate' brand from Datsun - and sales went down the tubes. Last year for the Datsun nameplate in the U.S. was 1983 though the changeover to Nissan took a bit longer. Until 1986 it was Nissan "At Your Datsun Dealer."
Is this located in the now Westminster, CO? The mountains seem familiar...and the 104th Ave is uncanny lol.

@MattTheSaiyan I believe Datsun changed their name to Nissan, or maybe Nissan bought them? I don't know my 1983 Datsun 200SX says Nissan on it.
