  • I'm pretty darn hetero, but damn he's sexy.

  • outstanding

  • Superb!

Only there's one thing puzzling me..

4:01 to 4:04 Watch Earl Slick's guitar solo.

You can hear a whole bunch of notes that he's not even playing, then he drops back in sync soon after. VERY DUBIOUS!

Earl is an amazing player, so I was rather suprised to see this bit of pantomime!

Perhaps when editing the video, they chose to drop in his audio track from another nights performance ???

  • @cantplay4sugar Dont' know much about notes, and since there are 3 guitar players there (Earl Slick, Gerry Leonard and Mark Plati), it's confusing, hard to distinguish who plays what. Editing the audio sound unlikely because it was only shown on tv not an official DVD release.

  • @redsails2008 Yeah it can be confusing until you lock into him. 3 very different guitar types & tones though. Slick is just slightly right of center when listening with stereo headphones. He's easy to follow until those phantom notes appear at 4:01!

I'm currently learning the original Reeves Gabrels version of this solo. Simple but expressive. Nice.

This is a great upload all the same, and thanks for uploading. It's great to get Slick's take on it.

  • @redsails2008 also Bowie himself is on 12 string, i know not contributing to the solo. but that does make 4 IV four guitar player total.

  • @cristoffL you're so right, yes, we didn't count bowie on guitar! Thanks!

  • @cantplay4sugar I think that could be a little effect by Mike Garson on keyboard.

  • @ledgerdeathshit yeah, or Slick could be using a looper. Either way there's some sampling going on there for sure.

  • @cantplay4sugar One of the best versions of this song. Bowie has always had an array of awesome guitarists. This version is guitar player heaven. 4 players including Bowie himself. I can see the confusion. If you notice after the breakdown Platti switches to Strat and Gerry and Earl have similar tones. It does appear to be bad editing His BBC performances featured BUTCHERED solos.

  • "You're the great mistake I never made"... Linda Canção do Bowie, álbum Hours,1999. Uma pena o Bowie ter saido de cena, sem mesmo ter anunciado o feito à midia. ;(

  • This is great M,, Well worth the wait, I agree with Ladysceaming, the live version is brilliant :-)

  • Ha ha! You know where I want to be! In the front row! LOL

  • "For me 3 days is a long time!" LOL ... Thanks so much for sharing that, M.! I like that particular live version much better than the album version! Great! :-)
