I know Master Hunters have only 14 hit points, but they have insane damage (especially with unicorn horn bow). About a town: reminds me of Kuldahar. I really like its look and music is good. Elves in HoMM5 are more aggresive (precipitated music and as i said insane damage) that's for sure.

@wrylie188 Heroes V's expansions really fixed most of the issues it had, animations etc were much faster and there was more choice involved. That said the game started suffering from incredibly frustrating difficulty and the custom scenarios were still lacking in number

The overall landscape Reminds me of nahuel Huapi lake and park (patagonia), and all the seven lakes area ( at least before this year volcanic eruption and ashes.) Sylvans should build a city there and it would look exactly like this one.

HommV is a good game, but not a great one. After you play the game for some months AND read the manual to see how exactly everything works, you will just see tons of wasted potential and a broken balance.
Its true that homm 5 brings a lot of new and cool stuff, but its poorly implemented.You just need to get into the game to see that.

While both HOMM3 and HOMM5 are great games in their own light, a bit of that magical atmosphere that HOMM3 gave, didn't come across in HOMM5, the focus (to me atleast) shifted away from the dream of the game and more into the mechanics. Both are no doubt fantastic titles, but HOMM3 was perfect, and forever will be.
I love this song! awesome! But i think Heroes 1-to-3 had the best setting, and especialy Heroes 3 the best game of the series and the best art and graphical detail, period. Don't understand what they moron kids in the above loves about Heroes 4 or all the others, the games became shit after Heroes 3, HoMM3 was the maximum.
I actually rank them 3 > 2 > 5 > rest. The third is the most classic of them all, and the second one (and the third) is the one I always played with my friends and brother as a kid. The fifth is awesome graphic wise.
I think ubisoft should turn to heroes III graphics. well, they can make them 3D, but at least retain that awesome titans or dread knights. graphics of V are too cartoonish
Holy moley, that is one ugly town. Gave up on HOMM V after the demo showed that it just a rehashing of the then-obsolete HOMM III with big flashy ugly graphics. HOMM IV remains the pinnacle of the series, with true character development, elimination of a lot of the boring micromanagement work, and heroes on the battlefield, an innovation that refreshed and reinvigorated what was becoming a tired series. Too bad those folks at Ubisoft don't get it: HOMM VI is looking increasingly like HOMM V 2.
@EnzoBarracuda Micromanagement work? Omg LoL. Just play StarCraft II or WarCraft III and then play HoMM and come say again which games require micromanagement work and which games don't. I'm pretty sure the answer is that HoMM series don't require micro compared to Blizzard's RTS games, which require lightining reflexes if you want to finish the campaign, not to mention winning the multiplay.
@Zeredek I dunno, I feel they worked pretty well in the Order town as well. Of course, knowing that the academy in HV is a giant flying town, they wouldn't fitted in there.... So I'm pretty much okay with a Dwarven town... except that not all units need to be dwarves... they could have like, I dunno... Mountain Giants, or Thunderbirds or something. I dunno, mythology is a big place, I'm sure they could've come up with something more interesting than what it turned out as.

No, you are not. I am another of those IV-lovers. Bitterly disappointed when V turned out to be a recycled version of III. Once you fall in love with IV, the others just don't do it anymore. And is looks like VI will just be more of the same ... sigh ...
HoMM 5 is best of its type. HoMM 3 is different, so therefore its best of its type... Both are one of the best games i have ever played, but so much different so cant say that they are the same kind of game at all.

At the Moment I'm playing HoMM2 again, after completing the HoMM5 Campaign twice (once in heroic). A HoMM2 remake, this would be something I really would like^^
The music for HoMM V is really good but I find it too much aggresive compared to previous games of the series. During longplay I always turned my sound down a bitbecause my head hurt because of the music.
the game was earlier than Avatar, not to mention they both copy old legends and are somewhat based on RPG-s and the Lord of the RIngs, also it is usual to place elven cities in trees (heck even star wars's ewoks and wookiees took this from the fantasy genre)
Some of the most amazing music I've ever heard in any of the Heroes games, right here. I find that the Sorceress (HoMM 1)/Forest (HoMM 5)/Rampart (HoMM 3) tends to have the best music on average throughout all the games. For enthusiasts, be sure to check them out on here.

HoMM 5 is best of its type. HoMM 3 is different, so therefore its best of its type... Both are one of the best games i have ever played, but so much different so cant say that they are the same kind of game at all.
I strongly recommend HoMM 5

I'm trying to make a acoustic solo guitar version of this theme, this is so amazing. And I don't understand all you haters, why do you always have to compare this to Heroes 3? Can't you just accept that this is a great game?

@RoflMaoZedung Same opinion here. heroes5 is great. There never was a game i was addicted, but this one just don't wanted to let me go. The only thing that i think really stinks, is that there are way to few scenario maps.
At the Moment I'm playing HoMM2 again, after completing the HoMM5 Campaign twice (once in heroic). A HoMM2 remake, this would be something I really would like^^

The music for HoMM V is really good but I find it too much aggresive compared to previous games of the series. During longplay I always turned my sound down a bitbecause my head hurt because of the music.
Thoguh the game is really great!

When I play any campaign with sylvan , I sometimes just stay at the city screen for several minutes just to hear this song cause it's AWESOME! :]

Awesome theme for an awesome game.
Don't get me wrong, HoMM3 is still the best in the series, but 5 isn't far from it. Was perhaps mediocre at first, but the expansions fixed all that.

the game was earlier than Avatar, not to mention they both copy old legends and are somewhat based on RPG-s and the Lord of the RIngs, also it is usual to place elven cities in trees (heck even star wars's ewoks and wookiees took this from the fantasy genre)

Some of the most amazing music I've ever heard in any of the Heroes games, right here. I find that the Sorceress (HoMM 1)/Forest (HoMM 5)/Rampart (HoMM 3) tends to have the best music on average throughout all the games. For enthusiasts, be sure to check them out on here.
