Hey what button do you use to wavedash? I don't know why I'm getting a feeling of changing my button but it's just a feeling as in I feel I would be faster if I wavedashed with L instead of R. I usually wavedash with X and R and shield with L and L cancel with L. What do you use?

i always find it easier to use the X button, just lightly flick down the bottom edge of the X button and you should easily SH with any character :D

I got it now thanks. I can do it with the analog stic, x and y buttons. I am better overall with the X button as usual. I just needed more practice. Now my Fox is technical like most Fox players strive for. But I really don't use technicality in my gameplay lol. I guess I just wanted to be able to do what everyone else does just so that I can understand how it feels.

Short hop - tap upwards for a very short period of time (something like 1/30th of a second). Easier to perform on slower characters.

Shine - Fox' down+B. A fundamental part of this video is that you can leave the shine very shortly after it starts by jumping.

Wavedash - Immediately after jumping, airdodge into the ground to get a momentum boost that allows you to move extremely rapidly.

Waveshine - Use Fox' Shine, then wavedash to follow the opponent and shine them again. Repeat as necessary.

SHDL - Short hop double laser - after doing a shorthop on fox, mash the B button. Takes some practise to get two shots off in one shorthop to begin.

SHFFL - Short hop fast fall L cancel. Takes a lot of explaining, watch a video on it.

i learned those techniques in an hour with fox and he is not even my main. that goes to show that with constant practice and determaination you can do these stuff, ther is no shortcut or easy wy out of this stuff

It's not have fast you press from one button to another, it's how quickly you can tap the jump button. Try holding down-over with luigi, tap jump and then quickly press R.

Drill shine is a down air into a reflector shield. A wave shine is...well look at him. He does it all across the board. Shine = Reflector shield. then you factor in a little thing called wavedashing. There you have a Waveshine. I don't quite do it myself, as I'm a Peach player. I've fallen victim to it, before though, I've also stopped it. From what I understand it's hard to do.

SHDL is actually pretty easy when you get it. I just slide my thumb from Y to B. However, SHDL is pretty useless.

SHDL is very useful, it's great against defensive marths, turnip spamming peaches, etc. THat couple with FJTL lets you rack up like 20% or so before the peach will come after you, you can use it when running away to reorient yourself, getting you 2-4%, and that adds up since you should do it a decent amount during a stock, you can probably easily grab 15-20% every stock during times when you wouldn't be doing anything, or or running, looking for an opening, etc.

SHl is only more useful if you don't have a lot of time to get one off, because you finish faster. However, SHDL gets more lasers off much faster, so like i said if you're playing against a defnesive player SHDLs are useful, and SHL sucks balls.
