Haha thats pretty funny, that they reject the worms :P Could be depending on type of worm u give them actually, some worms secrete a liquid that is very bitter as a defense, my axes have spit out a couple of worms because of this. Though i guess they can be picky with foods :P Mine seriously eat ANYTHING they can get in their mouths. I feed them woodlice now and then, its a good treat i think as the shell provides some nutrients the worm does not. Btw i uploaded a quick vid of mine take a peak!
@UniAduin I fed them the same words (from my garden) last year and they loved it... Maybe this years badge of worms is not that tasty, we will see if the next generation got better after the snow comes down. :)
Sad to hear about the parasite infection! That is one of the things i have also been worried about, the threat is there especially when feeding live foods, i dont have trout pellets like some feed axolotls with, i only use earthworms. Avoid feeder fish, as far as i understand thats where the biggest threat from parasites come from! :O How big is your white one? :) You should make a new vid :P I plan on making a quick vid of mine soon aswell

Yeah, the problem also is that in the Czech Republic where I come from there are no vets for these animals... Once they get infected you can try to cure them yourself, but there is noone to tell you how to do it... The big one is about 25 cm, quite big... I got a decent phone with a camera, so I when I get soem decent footage I will upload something :)
@UniAduin I started to feed them with fish meat and somehow they lost their hunting instingst,, when I give tham an earthworm, they chew it for a while and spit it out, have to learn them eat live food again... Otherwise I feed them frozen stuff...
Hey not to criticize or anything, cause these guys look pretty healthy :) Gravel is a fairly bad substrate to use for axolotls as there is a risk for impaction, the gravel gets stuck in their digestive track. I used to have gravel with mine, over a couple of weeks they managed to poo out alot of rocks after i switched to sand x) But otherwise they look very healthy and happy :)
@UniAduin Hey there and thanks for the comment, I also read a lot about the substrates but I decided to get gravel anyway. When I was using sand the water was always a little dirty from it. Both of the two dark ones are dead by now, but it was a parasite infection I couldn´t find a cure for, the white one is a lot bigger now and I also have a golden one and a mixture of white/black. Good luck with yours :)
@bool92 Nope, as far as I know they are not illegal in any country since they are used as laboratory animals... On the other hand they are almost extinct in the wild so some countries might require a permission to own them, but I doubt it. Thanks for the comment!

They "wink" with their gills to get fresh well oxinated water. Mine do that when they are resting, too. Just cute!
