@ProSportsfan1711 Your handle is Prosportsfan, and you say it was a good thing it wasn't a race he needed to win? You, clearly, must be a pro sports fan of sports, other than Nascar. Didn't need to win? Then why was he out there, in the first place? Hell, why wewre the other 42 cars out there, if only one was going to win? Stupidest thing associated with Nascar I've ever heard.
fuck you motherfuckers that are squeeling because the broad had a camera shoved in her face. she chose the life.....she can deal with the consequences of that choice. she lives a hell of a lot better than you and me. shat the fuck up!!
@katindiana: It's not the Sprint Cup, in that Nationwide race Kenseth was driving the 16. Heck, Biffle wasn't driving the 16 in the NNS, at least in 2010 (he was driving the 27).
yeah they were right how matt did a good job keeping his car from going up into the track, because he probably had control over it while it was flipping.
he has the sense of mind to get his baseball cap at least. haha. these cars are incredibly safe. I bet you won't walk away from it if you mom's minivan does that.
I think the drivers and everyone watching nascar is terrifyed of Talladega.(not like they wernt for the past 40 years) I mean Newman, Edwards, and Kenseth in just one year. I hope Harvick stays on the ground once April 26th comes around.
Anyone else find it ironic the if theres a wreck at a super speedway in the nationwide series... almost the exact same will happen, probably more than super speedways but all I can think of right now is the Big ones in 2001 Daytona opening races, and this one (Ryan newman)
He just looked pissed. They make drivers go to the in-field care center whenever they can't drive their car away after a crash...doesn't matter if a driver doesn't want to go, or not...
Matt Kenseth sucks so much that he is the 2003 Nascar Winston Cup Champion and the 2009 Daytona 500 winner. Suck on that, Matt is a great driver and I think I speak for everybody here except for you.
Of course it was luck. All restrictor plate races are. You think Jamie McMurray won at Talladega based off driver skill? Hell no he was in the right spot at the right time. As far as Matt's Daytona 500 win, it didn't matter if the rain came early or if the race went the distance. When the race was called, Matt Kenseth was the leader, hence the winner of the race. A win is a win. Waltrip won Daytona the same way in 03 with almost half the race to go.
Well, if you look closely, the flaps are hinged at the front, so I guess they don't open sideways. Kenseth's car was perpendicular to his trajectory when he tumbled. I suppose they would need flaps hinged lengthwise for that?
But anyways, they can only help so much. At top speed, no flap can save you from the sheer aerodynamic force.
No there have been many crashes where cars have flipped like that... i.e. Goody's Dash series Daytona 1998 - AJ frank and Will Hobgood both just tipped over... also Daytona 1987 Gary Nuffer tipped his car over and it tumbled a few times... both vids are on youtube, take a look... i can still name a few more but i wont embarass u anymore
im sorry...but that is scary!!!! the next day's race was just as bad! I thought this was earnheart all ovr again! god bless him for being able to walk away. ♥
I saw this live and I admit that I couldn't race like the professionals. However does anyone feel that back in the 80's things were more dangerous? It seems that nascar is the least physical sport because people just walk away fine.
The roof flaps are most used when the car is total reverse, Kenseth cars was just 90 degrees so the flaps didnt work, any way was a cheap crash it could be lot worse.
I remember watching this saying, "Oh my god! Oh my god!" I could not believe what I was seeing. I knew when he turned back around, that car was going to turn over.
every person who is bashing espn is stupid just tell me the name of ur national sports channal then u can bitch!
