ok -- this is one of my fav tunes--and i have been playing it since it came out--you wowed me on your rendition--very nice work--your vocals sent chills thru me---thank you my friend
I'm sorry to hear of your loss. This song is one of those that can represent many things to many people. For me, it reminds me of a period of time that I went though a lot of changes. So, in that way, it's sort of melancholy. I'm glad you liked my version.
Beautiful, crisp, clear acoustic sound. Awesome vocals. Very well done. I think Pete and Tom would dig it. You're keeping the music alive. 5 stars my friend!
Thanks Russ. They were quite a band, weren't they? And, talk about musicianship! It's a shame we have to use the past tense when speaking about so many of the greats, huh?
Thanks. I am very flattered by your comment. I hope you have time to listen to my original material at the site given on the video. Feel free to let me know what you think. Cheers.
Very, very good! Strong vocal, and very solid guitar work, including the signature riffs.
I am baffled by the sound of the guitar, though. I would swear it's a 12-string by the sound, but it sure looks like a 6-string. Are you running it through some kind of 12-string effect?
Thanks for the compliment. Look at the "more info" space up in the upper right hand corner of the screen for the details of what I did. Have a good one.
I've read it twice now... you mention extracting the audio from another recording. Perhaps we're hearing your earlier guitar track along with the one you're 'currently playing. I'm sure that would create somewhat of a 'chorus' effect, but I wouldn't think it would sound quite so much like a 12-string guitar. Feel free to explain, briefly, should time and inclinations permit...
BEAUTIFUL ! One of the best covers of this song that I watch ! Yesterday and today I saw two amazing versions. This is one of them ! Congratulations ! BADFINGER 4ever !
Thanks Mike. It was your posting of their performance from the Rogers show that got me interested in doing the song. The song definitely reminds me of a specific time period in my life, which helps one play with a little more feeling. I hope more of their stuff finds its way onto YouTube. Thanks again.
Hi Andy. I love Hamburg. It's holy ground for any Beatle fan (Reperbahn, Star Club, etc.). I was there in 1984 and 1985 with my guitar and backpack. I did some "trampin". Like this song, just hearing from Andy from Hamburg brings me fond memories!!! All the best to you!!
I'm familiar with "Day After Day". I usually love Tom Evans' harmonies, but Day After Day was one song that I'm glad someone turned his knob down a bit. It's barely detectable, but at the end he's trying to harmonize with "Looking out on my lonely gloom..." and it doesn't work. It's there, but barely noticeable.
It's a shame how things turned out for them. I'm not sure but I think their contract had them being paid as "employees" (hourly wages)and the songwriter's share was probably diluted like they used to do to Little Richard (i.e., twenty-odd songwriters and Little Richard). Shameful. I guess that's the curse of creativity. It leaves a little to be desired in the business department. One exception may have been Walt Disney. He seemed to have good business sense and creativity. Not many like that
Thanks. It's a Yamaha F-180 (or 150 I'm not near it to check for sure). I've traveled the world with it and, although it's technically my 'thrasher', it's my absolute favorite of all my guitars.
Very nice acoustic cover of a fantastic song. One of my favorites from Badfinger*****

great job- the vocal harmonies were spot-on, and your guitar arrangement was real nice too-
one question- how many overdubs did you do on it? it has such a full, rich sound
I really liked it, bro- 5/5
