You can't force people to unite over issues they despise."
Obama will LEAD congress in establishing common interests to solve problems. The last decade we haven't seen democracy at its best...too much my way or no way. We need change; I'm confident that Sen. Obama will put America back on the right course.
Im a Liberal socialist myself,I dont think any of the candidates personally are gunna ever fix the trash our country is and the messes we made with the rest of the world. however Since people like me need to select the better of 2 evils(in this case 3, Obama,Clinton,McCain)
I rather see what Obama can do he does have a sense of progressing this nation a bit better than the others One being a stupid bitch and the other a traditional conservative.Obama wins
Some of these comments about Obama are fucking retarded. He's NOT a Muslim and even if he was, there's nothing wrong with that. Not all Muslims are radical, you fucking dolts.
And that is your opinion, lala. I am certain that Hillary Clinton is the better candidate. Knowing this does not make me a racist. Voting for her does not make me a racist.
It makes me an American. Your playing the 'race' card is what makes you a racist.
it does if you're black, and your demographic votes for Obama is disproportionate ratio to the rest of the country. Lets get real here-Obama is winning on Hillary hate, and not on his own merits. Obama has little platform, and what little platform he does have is a watered down version of Hillary's, with a little of John Edwards. Change isn't a course of action, its a rhetorical intrusion into the mood evoked by a Bush White House for 8 years.
Unity is dangerous in a democratic country-its what got us into Iraq. For that matter, shallow unity that's only in rhetoric and spirit is pointless, because the president can't dictate policy. The executive office is only one branch of American government, and if Obama's only goal is to unify the American people with rhetoric, then he would make a great vice to Hillary's Presidency.
France is what enabled Ameria to free herself from the British Empire. Lincoln caused the CIVIL WAR, JFK died before he could accomplish anything but get elected, and FDR's career is way too long and hardly so monolithic that it can be compared to Barack Obama's. Jease stop smoking the Obama crack-pipe. Listen to reason and vote for Hillary.
UNITY?!?! You must be joking. The man does nothing but lie to get elected. Now he is saying he will not keep his promise about public financing for the Presidential Race if he were to get the nomination. He cannot keep his word. We don't need another Bush, no matter what his party or race is.
What?! Please get off the cross, somebody needs the wood.
What I said is not slander, it is fact, and if you are not aware of it, that is probably because you are not here in the U.S. And, your comment about there being some rumor about Hillary is ridiculous; and I won't even comment on that.
Obama's campaign called the Canadian government right before the debate in Ohio to tell them not to worry about what he was going to say about NAFTA? That it was just "political rhetoric" for Ohioans. Liar.
Well Max the NAFTA story is such a BIG LIE even Stephen Harper the PM for Canada APOLOGIZED for it.
NY Times March 3, 2008:
Mr. Harper said the Canadian embassy in Washington "regretted the fact that information has come out that would imply that Senator Obama has been saying different things in public than in private. The government of Canada does not condone this and certainly regrets any implication."
Washington, D.C., March 3, 2008 In the recent report produced by the Consulate General in Chicago, there was no intention to convey, in any way, that Senator Obama and his campaign team were taking a different position in public from views expressed in private, including about NAFTA. We deeply regret any inference that may have been drawn to that effect.
Of course they will say that. Isn't it interesting that all of the bad publicity about Obama is a mistake or has an explanation? Wow. That guy just has the worst luck, but thank God that he has a closet of excuses to counter his waterfall of bad luck. Poor guy.
Obama seems positive and composed, whereas Clinton seems negative and overly aggressive . At the end of the day people will vote for who they like more - I don't see Clinton winning that one! Although she is "likable enough"! Lol! Obama '08!
He wasn't even in the senate when they were voting on the war-Hillary was senator of New York during 9/11. Its pathetic that Obama supporters would stoop to such lows.
Obama was going to run as senator in 2004 and in 2002 when he made the speech he could be branded as a traitor or coward or both by the rabid right winger, and yet he made the speech opposing Iraq war anyway.
The Obamacans play the victim when it is convenient. Then they become self righteous and act like Obama is the Second Coming of Christ. When you oppose the Pied Piper of Hamlin, and opt for experience and security over empty promises and campaign rhetoric, you are accused of anti-change and racism.
Excuse me, but it's important to know how to play the game if you want to change the rules. Obama offers nothing. Clinton does!
Oh Obama. You know George Bush didn't spend any time in Washington either-he even ran on a similar campaign promise of unification. For that matter he had 90% approval ratings when he went for the war in Iraq-Hillary stood up and said "use your power wisely and at last resort"-Bush said "smoke em out". Hillary is the only candidate for change in this election. Its not even a question.
I want a president who we're able to dissent from without being branded evil, or "dirty"-yes we can criticize Obama, yes we can vote for the better candidate. Go Hillary in Texas and Ohio!
Here here. If we in Canada could vote, we'd vote Obama. Despite the NAFTA comments, I'd support him anyway. What the democrats don't yet seem to realize is that NAFTA benefits the USA, Canada and Mexico equally. They'll learn that and when they do, whether the president is Clinton or Obama (it wont be McCain, of that I can assure you) we'll all be living in a world that's far closer to perfect. Vote democrat!!!!

You can check this out at opensecrets♥org if you dare to learn the truth. Do you think wall street would support any candidate that would truly do anything to improve life for the labor class?
He's Cheney's cousin?? What?? I bet you also think he's muslim... If he was muslim, he'd be trying to kill the president, not BE the president. If he was Cheney's cousin, he'd have bad aim, white hair and a heart condition. Also, would he not be a little, oh I dunno.... pale?
Clinton's are bilderbergers. Bilderberger's belong to the banksters.Banksters are very, very bad.
Barcak Obama ,Ron Paul(xposed IRS& Fed reserve fraud),Dennis Kucinich, Mike Gravel(helped abolish the draft) are the their good guys. New York Senator Hillary Clinton does nothing for 9/11 truth, she should not be running for president & should resign her current position.
FUCK OBAMA thats right FUCK HIM in his lying black ass. All we need now is a muslim president, why dont we just bend over and let Iran shove a nuke up our cunt while were at it.
Senator Obama promises to track down Al Qaeda in Afghanistan, however as Chairman of the Senate Subcommittee charged with the oversight of Afghanistan for a year has not called a meeting. During that year he's made countless speeches about what he'll do as for as pulling out of Iraq and focusing on Afghanistan. However, granted the authority to do something he's done absolutley nothing, not one thing except talk about doing something. Words count? Words matter? Only if followed by action!
davyjames: you are either try to scare people or u just dont pay attention to the NEWS. Here is the argument: If we see a target just like last week when we took out No.2 person in alghaedeh, and General Mosharaf doesnt do anything, shall we do something about it... well we did last week and took out as I said No. 2 man in Alghaedeh.. so get your facts straight and dont try to scare American people.. they are much smarter than u and I Obama ALL teh way...
Where was this guy when the Senate voted 99-0 to remove Saddam from Kuwait and stop him from walking all over Saudi Arabia? Was Saddam only kill-worthy in the 1990s?
What about the thirty-four other countries that joined the U.S. in the Persian Gulf? Did Obama oppose them too? Because they were "wrong?"
Did Obama stand up and disapprove of Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates - i.e. the locals - when they defied Saddam? Or was all that "the wrong answer?"
Where was th same US when they need to break all ties with Saudi Arabia, the country where most of the hijackers were from? I bet the ones you support are real wise keeping them as friends. Where were they when China annexed Tibet? The only reason they went after Saddam is because they feared they wudnt get the oil they needed from Iran if Iraw took over Iran.
So why didn't they finish him off ? They had him on the run, do you think the middle east would be better off today if the US finished the Job early. If you haven't noticed the war in Iraq was budgeted at 60 billion, could cost 3 fricken trillion. The taxpayer's pay for it, do you think someone should be held accountable for going overbudget. Looks like its too late, the US dollar is toast.
Watched it, and if you want the VP impeached, I couldn't agree more. By giving reason for not going in the early 90's, should apply to not going in, in 2003. Almost a "red herring". If you didn't think it would be good in 93, the same logic should apply in 2003 for the same reasons. Is that what I should of got out of the video? Thanks for the link.
Everyone has WMD's we do, Israeli's do and the Russians do was the UN doing their job looking for WMD's and we knew Sadam couldnt fly in south or north with his Russian Migs so why the hell didnt we listen to the Whole World and tried to have this macho aditude regarding WMD. My friend we should have let the UN do their job and then if he had them distroy them and only when he 'd refuse go there not only us the USA but with an international coalition that's how we should have invaded Iraq.
He's a fraud, and all his voters will regret it. His stance on I raq was nothing special. He didn't even have a vote because he wasn't a senator. He was playing arm chair QB, that's all
It was special. Why do people forget what things were like back then....EVERYONE supported the war-YOU probably supported the war...when Obama said that....saying you didn't support the war then was like saying you do support it today.
And there is a VIDEO of him condeming the war in public, at an unpopular time, that is special, because at the time, that was not an okay thing to do, it really wasn't.
Jeez-quit blaming the Clintons. I'm voting for Barack Obama, but I hate how you people blame what George Bush did on Bill Clinton-that is SO, SO, stupid. Come on-remember what life was really like when Clinton left office???? SOOO much better than it is now. BUSH and REPUBLICANS fuck things up-they are what we need to do away with-not the Clintons, but the entire republican party, it has no place in modern society.
Hillary is in a really bad situation. She can't out-charm or out-positive Obama. "Experience" is not getting her traction. Their positions are not that far apart, it's hard to get people worked up about the differences. Not much left for her to do but go on the attack. This is not excusing anything, I'm just not sure what else she could do. She tried having Bill do it for her, but that just made her look weak. Does anyone see another way for her?
MY FORMER COMMENT WAS FOR DEVIN1498. THIS ONE IS FOR EVERYBODY ELSE - have you ever asked yourself seriously who were the people to benefit the most from the war in Irak? Check out the "Loose change" video on E-MULE - it'll rock your world.
Americans owe themselves the best president, not the most celebrity candidate. A vote for Hillary is a vote to stop the war in Iraq, and put a stop to the rhetorical platitudes of George Bush.
You really think a female president doesn't offer change? Take a step back and look if she would really be that bad... we could have the choice of John Kerry, or George W. Bush. I say all 3 would be a very welcome change.
"If one candidate's trying to scare you and the other one's trying to get you to think, if one candidate's appealing to your fears and the other one's appealing to your hopes, you better vote for the person who wants you to think and hope." - Bill Clinton, 2004

Obama doesn't want you to think. He wants you to forget his incompetency as a legislator, and his lack of qualifications in his experience, and vote on speeches. Obama is using fear tactics just like George Bush-except the fear is of the Republicans. Don't vote for Obama-don't stand for scape goating and fear mongering.

Don't vote for any of these corporate suck ups....Osama McClinton.
Demand more!
With all of the information that you have available online, you have no excuse not to research WHO THESE PEOPLE REALLY ARE. They are ALL criminals....from Whitewater, to Keating5 to drug abuse.
jsampras3-- unlike you, I have relatively high standards for MY president of the United States. I would prefer them not to have experimented with ILLEGAL drugs, not be a wife, husband, son, brother, uncle of a former or current president, or been involved with ILLEGAL lobbyist transactions or be funded by criminal elements.
You accept this as as 'the way things are'. I do not.
As soon as someone doesn't like the 'top tier' candidates all of a sudden they are a Ron Paul nut job. Great conditioning...you can thank your corporate media for that. Did I say anything about Ron Paul?
I'm even more disgusted about 'fair weather friends' like you. "I like this candidate, but they have no chance of winning...so I'm going to follow like a lemming for the popular.
You deserve Barack McClinton as your president, however, I do not.
You know, contrary to what you've been taught, as long as you don't do illegal drugs excessively, they make you smarter in the long run than someone who hasn't, because they don't just alter your perception, they expand it. illegal drugs only become a problem when you need them on a daily basis. They also give you a more genuine sense of compassion towards people.
Don't confuse someone who smoked marijuana, or did coke a few times, with a junkie who does it everyday.
A19, I'll just bet you're a big fan of Bush, right? Are you simply unaware that he has admitted to being a former cokehead and until 15 years ago a raging alcoholic?
Pick up a paper, read a book or just simply clean out your ears!!! Ignorance is NO excuse.
Yes Shaire...I am well aware. Why do you think that I am so pissed that 'we' are making the same mistakes, over and over, and over and over and over and over and over. Bush also got a DUI....
LOL... 'raging alcoholic~! So true.
Nothing compares to Bill Clinton and Mena Arkansas--Dan Lasater, Roger Clinton--- Clinton Pardoned both of them. How Sweet.
The Clintons are Sooooooooooooooooooo dirty. It makes me nauseous the things they got away with in Arkansas.
devin1498 i think ur way too retartedto see the truth that hillary is all about the interest groups and will do anything that is in their interest while might not be in US interests. Just like invading fckin iraq. But obama is all about the people of the united states and he will do anything to keep us safe and protect our interests in the world.
Refusing to engage in diplomacy with other nations is historically the last step before war, and refusing to engage in diplomacy with Iran and North Korea on pressures them to rail against us.
On top of that Hillary has been helping Bush lay the ground work for war with Iran and despite earlier criticising his position of talking to Iran has now taken the same position.
Obama "says" he was against the war, but he was not a U.S. Senator and was never in a position to receive the evidence that "was" presented to those who were Senators at the time of the vote....Saying you're against something - especially giving the President authorization to go to war - is very different than being given "evidence" from the Pentagon showing that the country in question has "WMD".
Senator Clinton's new ad plays off of fear, and America doesn't need a fear mentality for 4 more years. Senator Obama offers sound judgment, a willingness to build consensus and negotiate, and realistic hope, which promises a much brighter and safer future for America. We need a tough Commander-in-Chief, but we also need one who will be honest with America and who has the backbone to intelligently confront our adversaries.
America needs a smart and balanced leadership-not a total lefty loony "lets have a party with totalitarians and genocidal dictators. if you vote for hillary you'll be getting a level and deliberate head to restore american prestige, but also combat terrorism and defend human rights on an international level.
America needs a smart and balanced leadership-not a total lefty loony "lets have a party with totalitarians and genocidal dictators. if you vote for hillary you'll be getting a level and deliberate head to restore american prestige, but also combat terrorism and defend human rights on an international level.
"this person is dumb/smart", "good/bad", etc-- these simplifications are useless communication on many levels and are essentially peanut-gallery quips made for only the commenter to feel better. use facts, information, and content.
you know-thats what people always say-but these days, facts are so corrupted...people present their own theories, opinions, and fabrications as facts, and other people pass them on as facts. We all say we check our sources, but we all don't. The line between fact and opinion has been blurred.
The same Ron Paul people you see all over here reporting "facts" are also the ones who say that the economy is gonna go into a depression within 2 weeks, and it never does.
yeah, i absolutely agree... that means we have to be intelligent about what we accept as genuine facts! it is not, however, carte blanche to accept highly suspect opinions as more than they are: Point of View. Well, guess what, POV's are like assholes. everyone's got one, and there's 6 billion of them.
btw, i also said "content", which is arguments, thoughts, insights, experiences, and ideas. i do not consider over-generalized simple qualifier words like "DUMB" or "COOL" of much value.
What ever way Bush sees in his wit, he is entangling himself with "severity of WAR Crimes".
The countries who initially agreed with Bush, to identify the perpetrators of 911 and Terrorists and bring them to justice, have already started denouncing brutal Wars. Over 1.2 Million civilians dead in Iraq & Afghanistan.
Moderate countries know well by now, Aussies, Brits, French, Russians, etc have shown their withdrawal from total support as they extended in early 2002.
strikhendonia, as I just heard someone say, Bill Clinton was told to resign after his sex scandal, he didn't, and he left office with a 65% approval rating. So, yes, knowing when to quit can be a sign of wisdom, just as knowing when not to quit. ;)
For a President, I would prefer that they have experience, be strong and vetted, actually take action and make decisions; not just say to the person taking attendance, "Present."
Obama contradicts himself. He says he was against the war from the beginning, but he had no vote in that decision as he was just a State Senator at the time--that argument is very convenient. He does vote to continue to fund it though. The thought of an Obama Presidency is frightening.
Hey Max, Obama only vote present in Illinois but when he comes in Washington he votes on the important bills.
Like the vote against FISA telecom immunity (which Clinton MISSED), banning the use of cluster bomb (which Clinton was AGAINST, WTF?!) and ntroduced the "Iraq War De-Escalation Act of 2007", a bill to cap troop levels in Iraq, begin phased redeployment, and remove all combat brigades from Iraq before April 2008.
For a moment, forget Hillary Clinton's wrong decision on the war, the way she had no campaign plan after super tuesday, how she has lied about her support for NAFTA, how she plagiarized from John Edwards, forget that she turned a blind eye to the serial abuse of women by her husband (and stood silent while those same women were trashed in the media),
forget that she is basically the republican candidate in this election cycle....

1.) Your quote no. 1 is not published on July 24 - It was published at July 26(!), 2004 :(
2.) You only quote the first two phrases. You don't quote enough to get the true sentence here. :(
3.) You quote wrong! It was "..Senate intelligence.." not "..Senate intelligency.."
4.) You only quote 2 sentences of a three page article.
5.) Give me the real(!) source of your 2nd quote!

And that is your opinion, lala. I am certain that Hillary Clinton is the better candidate. Knowing this does not make me a racist. Voting for her does not make me a racist.
It makes me an American. Your playing the 'race' card is what makes you a racist.
maxtexture 3 years ago
it does if you're black, and your demographic votes for Obama is disproportionate ratio to the rest of the country.
Devin1498 3 years ago
Okay let's get real.
Obama's platform isn't (just) change, IT'S UNITY!
And that's why patriotic American not just in America but also around the world (including where i live, Indonesia) support him.
And that's why HE HAS OVER ONE MILLION SMALL DONORS BACKING HIM!
laleeloolelo 3 years ago
Unity is dangerous in a democratic country-its what got us into Iraq. For that matter, shallow unity that's only in rhetoric and spirit is pointless, because the president can't dictate policy. The executive office is only one branch of American government, and if Obama's only goal is to unify the American people with rhetoric, then he would make a great vice to Hillary's Presidency.
Devin1498 3 years ago
"Unity is dangerous in a democratic country-its what got us into Iraq."
Um Devin, unity is what enable America to free herself from Bristish empire, LIES is what got America into Iraq.
And great presidents such as Lincoln, JFK, FDR have accomplished great things because they UNIFIED THE COUNTRY WITH THEIR RHETORIC!
laleeloolelo 3 years ago
France is what enabled Ameria to free herself from the British Empire. Lincoln caused the CIVIL WAR, JFK died before he could accomplish anything but get elected, and FDR's career is way too long and hardly so monolithic that it can be compared to Barack Obama's. Jease stop smoking the Obama crack-pipe. Listen to reason and vote for Hillary.
Devin1498 3 years ago
UNITY?!?! You must be joking. The man does nothing but lie to get elected. Now he is saying he will not keep his promise about public financing for the Presidential Race if he were to get the nomination. He cannot keep his word. We don't need another Bush, no matter what his party or race is.

Liar.
maxtexture 3 years ago
Well Max the NAFTA story is such a BIG LIE even Stephen Harper the PM for Canada APOLOGIZED for it.
NY Times March 3, 2008:
Mr. Harper said the Canadian embassy in Washington "regretted the fact that information has come out that would imply that Senator Obama has been saying different things in public than in private. The government of Canada does not condone this and certainly regrets any implication."
laleeloolelo 3 years ago
BZZZT! Even lies from Indonesia will not help cover it up, LaLa.
maxtexture 3 years ago
Gee i didn't know THE CANADIAN EMBASSY lied.
Washington, D.C., March 3, 2008 In the recent report produced by the Consulate General in Chicago, there was no intention to convey, in any way, that Senator Obama and his campaign team were taking a different position in public from views expressed in private, including about NAFTA. We deeply regret any inference that may have been drawn to that effect.
laleeloolelo 3 years ago

Obama was going to run as senator in 2004 and in 2002 when he made the speech he could be branded as a traitor or coward or both by the rabid right winger, and yet he made the speech opposing Iraq war anyway.
This shows he has the PRESIDENTIAL QUALITIES:
INTEGRITY, JUDGMENT and COURAGE.
laleeloolelo 3 years ago
The Obamacans play the victim when it is convenient. Then they become self righteous and act like Obama is the Second Coming of Christ. When you oppose the Pied Piper of Hamlin, and opt for experience and security over empty promises and campaign rhetoric, you are accused of anti-change and racism.
Excuse me, but it's important to know how to play the game if you want to change the rules. Obama offers nothing. Clinton does!
Hillary Clinton in 2008!!!
maxtexture 3 years ago

When Bill picked up the phone at 3am it was to order pizza.

Bill Clinton ate lots of pizza and it fueled America to the top of the world!

Who will pick up the phone at 3am?
Well the president of the US of course. Does the Clinton campaign have an answer for 3am?

Obama is singing war tunes.

strikhendonia, as I just heard someone say, Bill Clinton was told to resign after his sex scandal, he didn't, and he left office with a 65% approval rating. So, yes, knowing when to quit can be a sign of wisdom, just as knowing when not to quit. ;)

She can't quit now, although some days she looks like she wants to.
Also, knowing when to quit is a sign of wisdom.

The thought of an Obama Presidency is frightening.
maxtexture 3 years ago
Hey Max, Obama only vote present in Illinois but when he comes in Washington he votes on the important bills.
Like the vote against FISA telecom immunity (which Clinton MISSED), banning the use of cluster bomb (which Clinton was AGAINST, WTF?!) and ntroduced the "Iraq War De-Escalation Act of 2007", a bill to cap troop levels in Iraq, begin phased redeployment, and remove all combat brigades from Iraq before April 2008.

For a moment, forget Hillary Clinton's wrong decision on the war, the way she had no campaign plan after super tuesday, how she has lied about her support for NAFTA, how she plagiarized from John Edwards, forget that she turned a blind eye to the serial abuse of women by her husband (and stood silent while those same women were trashed in the media),
forget that she is basically the republican candidate in this election cycle....
wait, where was I going with this?
Oh yeah, you're an idiot.
