  • I wanna take notes and make a romantic dinner for two: using these CHEAPASS ingrediants. My boyfriend would never know. hee hee hee. (Especially the monkfish instead of lobster.) God are people really that stupid, though? Kinda sad. I've eaten nothing but cheap shit my whole life, so I'd proabbly catch on. I could picture myself sitting there saying "Wow, this tastes just like Coolwhip!" I hate people who cant take a joke. That (fake) redhead looks so snotty. I'd be laughing my ass off!

  • the guy in the green is such a douchebag

  • You think that nobody realized....or they just use the people who didnt realized for the show ??

  • I'm a waiter, I know fuck all about wine, I don't have the pallet for wine; they all taste the damn same to me. However, I'm not too proud to admit it but I bullshit about all our wines and always manage to sell a decent bottle of plonk to pretentious arseholes. it's amazing what you can get away with when you have a bit of bullshit rappore and some confidence :D

  • Great way to fool pompous and pretentious people and all the bullshit that surrounds fancy restaurants and wine.

  • Damn, i should make a living off of this

  • no wonder the average Americans get ripped off when they travel abroad, It's too fucking easy to do it ! XD

  • They dont care about it, because the only thing that they care about is the price

  • 4:30 the waiter wanted to laugh his butt off XD

  • 2:00 I just through up in my mouth a little

  • Comment removed

  • I imagine they noticed but because they were told over and over again that it was the bet food in the world they would seem unsophisticated if they said they didnt like it. This is more about peer pressure than anything else

  • How did I miss this show!? This is what I live for! Every second of everday I feel myself calling "BULLSHIT!" on everything. That's how every person should be. You know the saying "believe half of what you see, none of what you hear" I like to condense down to NEVER BELIEVE ANYTHING - EVER until you prove it yourself.

  • @CareToStepOutside this applies to all humans not just americans

  • 9:59 looks like joe scarborough

  • They should have given the dude a chance to get some ass from the 22 year old before blowing it for him

  • LOL. Bill's a douchebag.

  • You can only tell the difference between cheap and expensive if you have experienced both and yes, there are many hi-class restaurants that will try to pass off shit as gourmet. Having lived on both ends of the spectrum, I actually can tell the difference and I have walked out on well known restaurants like Applebees and Olive Garden because I get better food at BurgerKing.

  • @xena91388 I don't know anybody who would call Applebees or Olive Garden anywhere near "expensive" or high class

  • @djlowballer I never said they were either, I said they were well known and they are more expensive than Burger King.

  • @xena91388 total rubbish, penn and teller should show you up too

  • Comment removed

  • hydroponically grown LOL this made me laugh continuously OMG

  • The rich have always been the guinea pigs of society whatever actually works gets to the lower class.

  • Does that show that people are stupid or that you can make good tasting food from cheap ingredients?

  • @rampageollie its explaining how easily manipulated people are. and how our perspectives are completely susceptible to influence. we are weak minded animals with little to no control or understanding of our experience of life.

  • The girl's 22, intelligent and beautiful, what is she doing with that old fuck?

  • @Zeanu

all women are whores thats why.

  • @BeaveHolio Yeah. Damn us all. =/

  • I hate it when

My thoughtful comment doesn't get uploaded.Already forgot what I was about to say

  • They chose to show you the ones that liked the food. Surely not everyone did; because not everyone ever does. So, Penn and Teller's bullshit is....bullshit.

  • That waiter is great at bullshiting i wish i had him in highschool to get me outa home work

  • Haha this makes me feel better about liking chef boyardee and hot pockets :-P

  • Judging by that red haired girl's reaction to the food reveal, I can tell 2 things:

    1) She's fucking pissed.

    2) I'm pretty sure her date didn't get laid that night.

  • Proves that aristocratiisc bullshit ponceyness a load of shit

  • "Whipped 150 strokes," LFAO

  • The law student girl comes across as upper-working class rather than upper-middle class.

  • Proves the Male Human is full of shit.

  • @amemy1 lolwut??

  • @musicaddicted777 Great vid, great expose. :-)

  • @amemy1 this doesnt mean that the male human is full of shit, it means the rich and classy wannabe is full of shit

  • @musicaddicted777 Agreed. The guys are good. Randy ....? is good also. Magicians are very good at 'grounding' people, and showing stuff up for what they really are.

  • @amemy1 actually for a smoking stoner looking guy that chef really made that food look good with 1 buck low cost ingredients and shitty whine

  • @amemy1 Just humans in general, sweety.

  • @Zeanu Yep, agreed.

  • Brilliant, a great series.

  • damn i want tims power!!

  • I fucking love this show

  • this is why I cant believe people who say they cant go vegetarian or something like that. its all in the mind.

  • @lotfalibabak It's very difficult to control your own mind, you know you're doing it, if someone else does it without your knowledge you're far more accepting of what you're told because, as shown here, you think it's real.

Forcing yourself to believe something that you know if false is not so easy.

  • Why is she dating a guy twice her age? :D

  • That younger chick looked absolutely livid when she found out it was bullshit.

  • i bet tim the water steward could win hell's kitchen just by the sheer power of his bullshit alone.

  • I'm really not buying into this one. These people just have poor taste and no culture. You seriously have to be an idiot not to know the difference between a kobe steak and a fucking TV dinner. Come on.

  • these guys (the subjects) are just idiots.

  • Ha Ha.. this is brilliant!!! These "Connoisseurs" are idiots..

  • anyone would know that beef is crap...

  • You can give these guys a pack of salt and vinegar crisps and call them 'chefs picked potato delights' and they'd pay £25 for it.

  • "whipped 150 strokes"..... LOL. Bill wouldn't last that long

  • people in the state just dont know how to eat

  • which episode is this? I want to see the rest of it.

  • You can't taste shit if you've never had it! Yeah, these rich bitches have never chowed down on a blissful fatty microwave dinner or fell out in the lawn from way to much 2.99$ wine. They would know what cheap food taste like if they had had it before. I really don't think it's all down to "the mind tricking it's self." They simply haven't experianced the divine delights the trailer park has to offer.

  • @20thlvlwiz While the placebo effect is very powerful, you do have a point.

  • @20thlvlwiz Yeah, but you are forgetting one thing. These people claimed this was some of the best food they ever ate. So the main point still remains, that the mind plays a lot bigger role on what does and doesn't taste good to you than the actual food itself. And showing that the expensive food isn't really worth the massive price difference.

  • @20thlvlwiz possibly

  • @20thlvlwiz Really? SO in their entire lives, and just because they go once to a decent restaurant, they suddenly never tasted cheap food? Thats literally THE stupidest single idea I have read on youtube. You hugely underestimate the human mind. Obviously you have never heard of the "placebo" effect. Stop using ridiculous ideas as points against the tested scientific term that is.

  • @20thlvlwiz Kind of have to tell you you're wrong. Being told you're eating something expensive will make it taste better. Look it up on google!

  • wouldn't you hate to know people like Bill?

  • God, real wine tasters and real gourmets will probably tell the difference. These are bullshiters that want to pose as elitists.

  • @piggypoo you'd be surprised. i saw a show that put 5 of the top belgian sommeliers in a room for a blind tasting test. they served them a mix of expensive high-end wines, and some cheap ass dollar wines from the local supermarket. 4 out 5 five could barely tell the difference. one of them went on for a full 2 minutes raving about a delicious wine with hints of this and that and touches of whatnot. it turned out to be the cheapest wine in the test. people will buy their own bullshit all the time

  • I've been to restaurants like these. People buy the look, not the taste.

  • Ciekawe co by było jakby wpuścić tam Magde Gessler ;D

  • What the HELL does the waiter say about the potatoes?

  • @ElThomazzo

hydroponic, I've never heard of hydroponic potatoes.

  • If it's really that easy to trick the mind, I'd like that waiter to BS to me before every meal I eat!

  • that one dude looks like bruce willis

  • People are sooooooooooo fucking stupid.

  • These customers obviously don't know anything about gourmet food. When the waiter says the Kobe beef is only 2% fat, the game should have been up. What makes Kobe beef "Kobe" is that it contains a lot more marbling and fat than normal beef.

  • Comment removed

  • @rawheas that pretension doesn't look good on you.

  • @dtothelu Lol I didn't realize so many people on youtube were stuck up assholes. :)

  • She is not 22.

  • why doesn't the little man ever speak?

  • 94 people have over paid for their food way too many times.

  • 1.99? You can get drunk with 4 bucks in the USA? Fuck

  • @suihkubad hell yeah

  • @suihkubad even better, you can get high as SHIT with a $5 rock of crack

  • @TlGBC in finland a g of weed is 15 euro. Feels bad man. And still finland has huge problems with alcohol and drugs

  • @suihkubad aw damn dude, that just doesnt sound right. sorry to hear that. finland sounds like a very safe and developed country. and i was half-joking with that crack comment. i'd never want to try crack.. but its true, drugs are cheap as dirt in many parts of north america.

  • this is awsome for those ppl who spend 500 dollars on a glass of wine or 300 on a plate of food. I hope it makes them think "hmm maybe this food ISNT worth all this money" because i dont give a shit where its made there aint no food out there that i would pay over 50 bucks a dish for and thats almost too much!

  • basic conformation bais. If your mind is looking for something, It'll find it

  • castle of ass!

  • If this guy is really smoking in a real restaurant kitchen, OOOh I'd hate to see the fine for that sanitation deficiency! Where's the county inspector?

  • @zygodactylexicon You watched the part where they are doing this in the alley right?

  • @Qermaq Egads, no, I overlooked that! Thanks for pointing it out.

  • I didnt know vaginas can talk.

  • Mmmm, suck on that tv dinner.

  • I KNOW that those are not the best mash potatoes because I am eating the best mashed potatoes right damn NOW....with the side of baked beans and meatloaf. OH YAH ITS ALL THE BEST! but I am not a douche bag lmao

  • thatd be the best to starving kids!

  • I own an Apple Computer, I am not a tosser, and don't claim it to be the best, I just like the software. I also support Linux Software developers, I don't buy into these people who sing the praises as if there were no options. The best is relative, because for me, the Macbook was the best option. Whereas, it is not the best for people who don't need that sort of hardware!

  • @PsychicPie

Shut up and let us marginalize you!

  • @Brainninja12 Lol. Marginalize me all you like. I'm also unique, just like everyone else.

  • @PsychicPie Live long and prosper

  • These are obviously people not used to eating in such establishments. if one of them really is being tricked, it's not because they were already going to be diners there otherwise they would have had a CHOICE in what they were ordering(and I seriously doubt they'd order a glass of wine from a $1k/bottle). They may have eaten gourmet before, but not something they're used to so they just play at knowing what they're talking about.

  • As with Penn and BS it is all a sham. They need a Penn and teller exposed show LoL.

    These are all actors.

  • @friendsofthefruitsof Penn and Teller have already discussed the bullshit of bullshit

  • So far 93 people were tricked.

  • "tuna juice and a blow torch mmm-mmm-mmm"

  • man, these people are either tasteless, or they are too easily manipulated by the waiter/scared to insult the restaurants food.

  • I wonder what will happen (with the staff of the restaurant :) ) if they were doing this experiment on Gordon Ramsay....

  • @dextercom i wonder what would happen to Gordon Ramsay if he went off on someone with the fortitude to stand up for themself...

  • @dextercom "bleep"

  • Daily massaged beef ! Hydroponic potatoes!! How waiter Tim can keep a straight face beats me.

  • wonder what happened to tim, i love that guy best liar evah!! i think i only saw him in the best episode and the bottled water what happened to him :O

  • man penn is hilarious thank shit hes an atheist !

  • I'm a 65 second finish........in bed!

  • @ontariobuds

    sorry

  • @narutofan9tf HA! That's exactly what I saw after my 65 second finish...IN BED!

needless to say women aren't too happy with me.

  • @ontariobuds :(

  • This is so true thou, restaurants, fast food joints, GAS STATIONS and business overprice and figuratively rip people who buy it off on products and raw food that only costs a fraction of the buying price.

You don't need a thousand dollar dinner to feed you the same way you don't need a five thousand dollar suit to keep you warm...

  • @AnimalAbusezomggrify Never mind that you think this counts as "justice" but Anon have fucking handled this. You're late to the bandwagon.

  • FACKIN TIM! lol

  • 9:47 What is Eric Roberts doing on Penn and Teller???

  • What about governments? What about Politics, What about the world. Everyone in business lies to cheats to get more from a person especially in this day and age. Money equals corruption and will always be that way. Just try and be educated and do what you can. Many people still believe everything that is said on tv...

  • These guys are so smart... Yea if you go to a high end place, you expect a high end meal. You believe its checked by FDA and regular health and safety standards. The guy is simply lying and you will never know unless you go to the kitchen to see what its made from. So are you saying just to never eat out. Cause some places maybe lie, if they do they don't last long...

  • The art/antiques world operates in much the same way. I used to work for a guy who dealt in "guaranteed 100-year old hand-coloured prints" The prints were culled from old books and then matted and shrink-wrapped for display. They were hand-coloured with watercolours in the backroom by us employees.

  • "How about that gravy? Lumpy right out of the jar. It may have been recalled by the FDA... we're still checking"

    Har.

  • Yeah it's fresh.... out of a CAN, WHILE THEY WH-

  • THEBESTTHEBESTTHEBEST

  • You know, in my experience, olive oil is actually cheaper at Whole Foods than most convenience stores, or even grocery stores. It's one of those "fancy" goods that's funny that way, like maple or soy products... although, actually, almost everything is cheaper at low-end grocery stores than convenience stores.

...and where did they get $1.99 wine? At least where I live, Mad Dog will set you back $3.50.

  • Buck fifty for wine? Is the the glass or the bottle? Either way I wanna know where can I get this stuff!

  • @ArcaneInquisitor Well, just about every supermarket has it's cheap wine section. I find a bottle for two bucks though.

  • @Shatbat Not in canada, here booze can only be sold in dedicated liquor commissions, and cheapest thing I have seen is $7 for a bottle of wine.

I remember I was in the states once. Walked into a wal-mart and saw 66oz bottles of vodka and 24's of beer on display at the front entrance. I was surprised since I know people who got 5 years for marijuana possession down there......seems a little backwards don't ya think?

  • @ArcaneInquisitor Fucking great way to boost your alcohol levels.

  • well taste is a pretty complicated sense scientifically proven to interact with all of the other senses including sight and even hearing. Basically if you think it tastes good, it will do.

oh and if anyone disputes this there are a number of experiments which back this up, carried on gourmet chefs who could not identify the taste of a juice when the colour was changed, and inaccurately estimated the crunchiness of crisps when different crunch sounds were played through their headphones

  • i feel really bad for all these ppl lol

they just got ridiculed pretty bad cuz they dont know their shit haha and got played pretty bad

  • Why wouldn't you tell a chef/restaurant owner that their food isn't tasty?

if you would, the chef could change the menu (if other guests say the same thing) and you'd make the restaurant better

  • The guy at 4:35 with the wine knew very well that the wine was piss, he was being polite in front of the dude.

  • Ya they know liars..They are both the biggest self over estimated stupid =(/=fu.ks.

They got butt both ends letting out shiat from both.

  • Whats funny is how he admits that most of his staff is full of shit. And so is he, but all he is proving is what we have been saying for years, ignorance is bliss.

  • I love how arrogant some of the customers are.

  • HAHAHHAHAHH :o) So funny how Penn comments everything. Great job!

  • Oh Please people. Your mind will trick you into believe what you want it to be. these people were not "trying" to be nice or polite. they thought they were having the best of the best. People buy in to stupid shit. Were humans. thats what we do. We dont know any better. If you placed something good in your mouth thinking if was prepared buy a gourmet chief than you gonna think its wonderful. If you saw this being made you would think it taste like shit. pull your heads out of your asses!!

  • @quinlanguy101 maybe the average idiot would think something tasted good based off subliminal suggestion, but some of us maintain our objectivity

  • @xESOTERlC Thats why I have 12 "likes" and you don't. I call BULLSHIT on your statement.

  • @quinlanguy101 ... Whether or not someone has thumbed up a comment means nothing.. are you 12?

I guess you're one of those idiots which is why you took offense to my statement which isn't at all insulting(unless you're one of the idiots).. in response to your insecurities about being one of those idiots: the fact that you would be so easily duped/manipulated does not mean everyone would. Some of us actually use our own brains.

  • @xESOTERlC *Yawn*

  • @quinlanguy101 u think we dont get that? thats the whole point of the fucking video

  • @jjjester123321 oh shut the fuck up! i didnt ask your opinion. Bitch boy.

  • @quinlanguy101 ahahahah we didnt ask yours either

  • @jjjester123321 Ya you did, you responded to my comment dip shit! I commented cause people were being fucking retarded like you. If you would have read you would have know that.

  • one gold medal all over the *BEEP* world? hell no in sweden we dont have any gold medal wine..i...think

  • just because its in a can does not mean it not fresh, freshness is an opinion of when the substance is most palitable(sp?) . if you want to argue this ask a real chef when sour cream "goes bad" and see what they say.

  • Their "friends" pretty much always asked them if the food was good. Obviously they would be polite and say yes. Still hilarious.

  • hahah chateau cul. cul in french means ass.

  • The old, perverted guy at 1:43 sitting with the 22 year old girl with red hair looks like he is in his 50s.

  • At least they could ask the cook not to smoke while making that food. Even they have to accept that even junk food or some really cheap food tastes good. Are Godiva chocolates really that good? How about some Kisses from Hersheys? You have to have a very well educated sense of taste to distingush the difference, and I think a wine taster could have noticed the difference between a gourmet wine and a cheap wine. I wonder if we are all getting fooled by expensive restaurants serving cheap food.

  • what is bruce willis with a wig doing there?

  • I think I have the three qualities necessary to not be fooled.

    1) I am somewhat of a cook, and so have some knowledge of food.

    2) I have skeptical turn of mind, and always question my surroundings.

    and most importantly

    3) I'm not a polite pushover who will not say something is crap even just because it's "rude" to do so. I'm as loud and as obnoxious as possible when I think someone is trying to serve me their shit.

  • i sould buy some wipe creme and seal it for 150$

  • @Shonem I couldn't agree more. I was just about to say the same thing.

  • this video is why my favorite resturant is 7-11...

  • this video is why my favorite resturant is 7-11...!!!!!!

  • I bet it all tasted awesome.

More people should buy cheap and actually take time to make things good. lol

  • bullshit... this isn't the entire episode

  • @mattowarrior The tea party is formed over taxation, hence the name of it, drawn from the Boston Tea party. Most legal Americans, naturalized citizens included, are against illegal immigration and the additional costs and crimes it brings to society. Trying to ensure the government doesn't steal any more money than they absolutely need from citizens, and spending that money on non-citizens is not elitist. Spending tax dollars for a spain trip is.

  • Don't you just love the placebo effect!

  • That redhead at the end looked soooo pissed off
