great trickery with the volume knob, but Eddie Van Halen did it first. Respect to both though, seen them both live and both are unique in their own way. Two different stlyes and they cannot be compared either way.
So great, i just cant believe i was missed Deep Purple concert in Croatia in Split, now am so sad.. Steve Morse is my best solo guitarist... and he will always be.... love you Morse, always will....
It's just a trick with a volume knob on the guitar. Turn the volume off, tap or pick a note and swell the volume of gradually. You'll get this flute-like sound.
It's release from Poland, Katowice's Spodek :) It was great concert- it's really worth to see Steve live. Even best quality sound and picture cannot be compared to reality. Greets:)

Very inventive. Maybe it has been done before, but who cares? as time move on less things are to discover.
A favorite guitar player among John Norum, Kee Marcello, Gary Moore, Michael Schenker, Matthias Jabs and other.

Which song does he play at 05:35 ????
burton1138 4 years ago
That thing on 5:35 is no actual Song.
Its a solo originally played by Brian may. Afaik he only played it live, so its on none of the Studio Records.
Look at some Live DVDs, i remember seeing it on one.
djteac 4 years ago
its not from brian may the parts after 5:33 are from steve morse Cascades:Im Not Your Lover.
nothing here is from brian may, Cascades Was A Song From "The Steve Morse Band"
