@gialligr...This is Pajduško or Bajduško horo...It's not ancient Thracian or Greek dance...It's BULGARIAN dance from Thrace region, that became part of a modern Greece only few decade's ago.
@HildaBone Excuse me what is all this fuss about? Why people cannot listen to what they like without any prejudice? Why it matters where the music comes from? Who knows anything about this anyway and what does it really mean? Do you wear blue jeans? Do you enter cars? Do you like good music? Do you care where it comes from? Will you stop eating potatoes because they are not from Europe originally? Peace and tolerance please!
@Yperfialos...This is typical degradation of Southern Slavs...Bulgarians, Serbians and Macedonians-particularly...Look at the Top Comments...Nationalism...What greek youth?...It is culture of Bulgarian people and all Greeks should respect that fact.
@HildaBone Excuse me but I do not get you. What is wrong with music being shared by different peoples? Please read carefully my previous comment.. Thank you.
@HildaBone Bajdusko Horo Not Exist In You Tube (You can see)....Not Exist In Bulgaria (Nobody Instrument Player Knows To Play Baintoyska) .....But You Are Sure That This "Horo" (Greek Word) is Bulgarian
-The original meaning of the Greek word χορός MAY(?) have been 'circle'.
-Hora and oro are found in many Slavic languages and have the meaning of round (dance) and the verb 'oriti' means to speak, sound, sing which previously meant to celebrate.
@gialligr YOU SHOULD CHECK UP ON YOUR HISTORY MY FRIEND........THE ANCIENT GREEKS WERE AROUND MUCH LONGER THAN THE BALKAN RACES.........ACTUALLY YOU ARE PART GREEK TOO SEEING YOUR COUNTRY IS BORDERING OURS..........SO YOU SHOULD RATHER SAY "SWEET GREEK DREAM" BROTHER.
@tsimsish Ancient Greek authors like Homer for example have always regarded the Thracians as "them", not "us". They were viewing them as quite a different culture that existed next to theirs. Besides, if you read history, you'd come to find that the Greek speaking tribes came along a lot after the Thracian tribes were already settled here.
Anyway, the mechanisms of culture are completely different than the mechanisms of politics. Think about that :)
