i can tell you why america has so much littering and vandalism and violence. Im not trying to sound racist but human nature is to associate with his/her own kin (Race or Tribe). In japan where most people are the same race there is NONE of that. Its just our primal instinct! Japan is so clean and polite cause they can associate with each other
That, I Wonder Bout The Word Above and News Flash: two trees were made on the same day. How come that page didn't make it in the 40th anniversary book? Even though they had a preview of it?
The first Ernie and Bert Skit with Steve Whitmire (as Ernie) was on Episode #2741 (Premiere of Season 22 of Sesame Street). And Steve Whitmire decided that Ernie can be used on the street seen (Just like in season 1 of Sesame Street). Kermit the Frog also appeared on the street seen as well.
First of all, the season premiere of Season 22 was 2746. And Steve didn't actaually become a SS muppeteer until the New Years special and the 25th season.
I know for a fact it was. It was the last new Henson Ernie skit I ever saw, and I was keeping very good track of the episodes in 1990. This skit was first seen in episode 2680. Jim Henson passed away around episode 2740
I'm glad you posted this again. As I said the last time this was posted, I didn't see this on TV, but it would be considered to be my favorite Ernie clips because of the chorus by the 3 muppets. Thanks again.
R.I.P Jim Henson.

I find it odd how everyone but Ernie looks like they're from the 50's, but the song doesn't sound like a 50's style song.

The way the 3 muppets harmonize when they sing "no need to litter all around" is awesome! This was one of my favorite Sesame Street songs as a kid.

According to the 40th anniversary book, this was Jim's last performance of Ernie for the show.

I love this song. It happens to be one of my favorite Sesame Street songs.

I'm guessing that the back up singers were Marty (the blue one), David (the green) and Jerry (the purple)

Oops, My bad. I could have sworn that Steve Whitmire did puppeteer Ernie in the "Conga" number during Season 23.

Are you sure? I think the boy sounds more like Kevin Clash. And while the blue girl is Camille Bonora, I think the orange one is Fran Brill.
