Dynamite Kid was also a great worker who was way ahead of his time. I could also easily make an argument for Mr. Perfect being up there along with a prime Austin and a focused Kurt Angle .
Bret Hart had the unfortunate fate of getting right in between WWE's PG-era in the 90's of pure wrestling and the Attitude Era. Bret kinda got phased out and became the sacrificial lamb.

bret was champ at a time when the business was changing. he was not good on the mic. his schtick was walking down givin some glasses away and walking around the ring with his jacket half off.. thats it. does anyone talk about his great promos? no cause they cant remember them. yes he was a great wrestler.. and thats it. the business needed to evolve and he couldnt. was bret setup? yes for a great storyline that austin did and that was...i hate my boss...austin did introduce him for the HOF

in his book he practically says he will never return, he hasn't got a good word to say about vince and it's not just the montreal screwjob that made them fall out....one example- the court case after owens death. Richard, Bret suffered serious problems from a concussion that Goldberg gave him in a match. If I recall correctly, a clumsy, stiff kick gave Bret the first concussion, and later in the same match an even worse kick aggravated the problem. Owing to that, he retired. Later, Bret fell while mountain bike riding, hit his head, and suffered a minor stroke. As much as I'd love to see it, I think these problems will prevent Bret from ever wrestling again. Unfortunately, he's not in perfect condition.

You can like or not Bret but everybody must respect Bret Hart, because he was one of the best wrestlers ever and he deserves respect after his dedication to the WWF.

in his book he practically says he will never return, he hasn't got a good word to say about vince and it's not just the montreal screwjob that made them fall out....one example- the court case after owens death. He also points out he doesn't want to be that old guy like ric flair who keeps wrestling when their time is already up

Richard, Bret suffered serious problems from a concussion that Goldberg gave him in a match. If I recall correctly, a clumsy, stiff kick gave Bret the first concussion, and later in the same match an even worse kick aggravated the problem. Owing to that, he retired. Later, Bret fell while mountain bike riding, hit his head, and suffered a minor stroke. As much as I'd love to see it, I think these problems will prevent Bret from ever wrestling again. Unfortunately, he's not in perfect condition.

Listen to that reception! Ric flair never got an ovation like that until probably after the 2000s or his wwe days. When he arrived in wwf in 1992, fans hated him.
