I'm a huge fan of the lemur, but keep in mind that 1, they're no longer produced; and 2, support for them is obselete as of Dec 31, 2011...not to mention that their level of support wasn't anything to write home about even when they were still being manufactured. Granted, the iPad is no Lemur, but it all comes down to what you do with what you have...
@technicalerr0r Some people think they can beat anycar in the track if they own ferrari, but NO! If you're a rice rocket driver, nomatter what car you get, still gonna drive that thing like a ricerocket.
can't wait untill the ipad killers come out and prices go down on all tablets.so far this and the electribe app is the only reason that i have seen to buy an ipad.i own 2vaios,toshiba satellite and a macbook so don't go the ignorant mac fanboy route and think that im dissing apple.these are just tools and the more price wars we get the better.peace, one love!
@sagittariuslove5 good luck with those price drops. It will be awhile.I have been looking @ the selling stats onit, and theres no reason to drop the price when they are selling like they are.
personally i don't think the ipad touch osc combination can compete with the lemur right now but it's a great workaround for those who can't afford the lemur. at the end of the day, it's all about the individual's talent and what they make work for them. and for all you lemur purists and elitists that can afford one, if you're not performing on the level of say, Daft Punk or DeadMau5, I see buying the Lemur as an epic fail
@d1rtydirt not sure what you're saying. but what i meant was that just because you have a lemur doesn't mean you're the end all be all. i'm sure there are those that have lemurs that are doing their thing but then again there are those that can't afford a lemur that are killing it regardless. just seems like an expensive investment if you're not going to go hard like some of these more successful acts. used daft punk and dead mau5 to make a point
Haha. This video did indeed make me laugh. Go away and have a real look at what the Lemur can do and then come back and watch this video again. Comparing this to the Lemur is like comparing a kiddies drum machine to an Elektron Machinedrum. One day the iPad will be a serious threat to the Lemur, but going by this, that day is a long way off. The Lemur is HUGE and with M4L it is a real beast. Plus it is now plug and play, making it a lot more attractive to musicians and DJs alike. This is a toy.
@Fagottron exactly what i was thinking. comparing this to a lemur is like comparing a wii guitar to a gibson les paul. this video was pretty demonstrative of how far the ipad will have to go before it can challenge the lemur.
Hey, my iPad comes in a couple of weeks, but I was also wanting the Akai. Seeing as you have both, have you found a way to implement both devices in your workflow that compliment eachother?
Ipad touch does not allow for serious multitouch. You onnly get like 3 fingers at a time. Jazzmutant Lemur allows for up tp 20 touch points at any given time and will still recognize one even if you change screens...
The iPad will never be as dope and versitile as the Lemur, but yes.. It is alot cheaper.
@rudibega the iPad actually supports up to 11 independent touch inputs, which is more than one human has. if you have more than 10 fingers, I would advise you to skip the iPad, and go see a doctor.
the lemure IS super sick, but not everyone has the bucks for it. the ipad version is a great intro to this type of interface...and it does other things as well. lemure is a one trick pony...but it does its one thing extra well.
nice video, you can buy USA iTunes gift cards at this store, they are legit USA iTunes Gift card store, they deliver to me by email, and Fast, my advise to you :)
this is bad news for lemur. The iphone touchOSC wasnt really a competitor, but this screen IS. seeing most dj's working with Macbooks this ipad will make their set complete ;)
how much does the software for this to work with the ipad cost?

Yeah, I agree with what you said, but I don't agree with misleading claims like what OP is implying. Good luck.

that is retarded. if you think that simple interface summarizes what the lemur can do you are so fucking wrong
m127i 1 year ago
@m127i relax dude....its a a cost effective solution. not everyone has 1700 to spend on an interface these days. its no lemur, but its great.
i still think the both interfaces lack the feeling you can get out of a tactile interface, but to each his own.
i do however like the star trek vibe of the lemur
in the end does it really matter what you used? if the tune is good....its good.

@97ezap really your standard for buying a lemur not being an epic fail is being one the three most commercially successful electronic musicians ever?
