thats awful. one shouldn˚t sing Mozart in front of an audience when he isn’t able to: nearly everything not in tune, bad phrasing and a ridiculous Italian. It sounds like the singing from an impotent garden dwarf.

Arrangement is made from a master. But: You can’t make this music more attractive or interesting with an arrangement, because it is at least the best music, that can be written. No arranger can be better.

The Swingle singers here chose to feature a not good enough (italian ?) singer.

That's why it didn't work out good enough.

Or, was it one of them who sang the lead ?

Well, then ... no good choice either way.
