Wikipedia has it well covered and its clear the suit was a fake and who made it and it was modified. It was expensive. The suit maker phillip morris even describes the walk--because they were experts at performing in various suits and the walk has to be done flat footed because of the big feet. The person in the suit is a 26 year old athlete who was first to confess. MANY people have confessed. Add to it that in interviews everyone described RP as a liar, con man, showboater and worse...

I am still on the fence. I was leaning toward a hoax, but I just watched the 4 part interview with Bob Gimlin who was there with Patterson. Gimlin iis pretty convincing on his account of what happened and a pretty good speaker, so I am more neutral. If it is a hoax, you have to wonder what Gimlin gains by keeping this lie going, since according to his interview he was never really interested in "bigfoot" and in a sense proved it by giving few interviews over the years.
Yep, no fake for the incredibly simple reason that Hollywood couldn't, never before never after. Mostly because our own human anatomy prevents it from happening, we can only produce BF suits within human anatomy; shorter torso/longer legs. Look at HarryH with the best technology I guess, but it's all well within human body size and proportions. BFs have a much more apelike anatomy, Hollywood either never knew this or cared or bothered. notice the but cheeks dont move when he walks...They SHOULD be moving. As a matter of fact, the only parts of the body that seem to not be so rigid are the arms and legs. And only half of the shoulder moves, as if its a human in a suit.
You think scientists are faking Bigfoot films, fragfoo? It wouldn't matter how much they'd know about anatomy, the technique to build it would have to come from Hollywood, and they just weren't ready and equipt at the time. You'd need cables, animatronics, all off screen but close and that is clearly not the case here. We saw none of that for another decade, plus, the mere fact that a human couldn't fit and fill such a huge and elaborate costume. Basically she's too wide for his arms, etc.

Foot length and width, stride length between each step, a key diference in the foot morphology between sasquatch and humans...........and of course different ways of validating the heigh, somewhere between 7'1" and 7'4". Well, why do you exclude the hyphotesis that behind the, lets call it, hoax there is someone with knowledge on anatomy and a bit of time in his hands to custom an anatomically correct suit?
This is assuming that those evidence were gathered by reputed scientists and not by bigfoot fanboys.
It's an interesting theory, but how do you support or substantiate such a theory. Planet of the apes didn't exhibit this kind of suuit. No other suits have exhibited the kind of muscle movement in groups scene here, no footware for suits has exhibited the kind of size or flexation of the foot scene from this primate. Footprint evidence seen from here to Australia. So theory's are fine, but dismissing the film or stating theories like their fact is just assenine.
And yes there are people that can dress like that and with that height. Just ask a basquetebol player and get some sponges on a suit. This was a made up movie. But besides that i believe there are species on our planet still not found.
And if you look right, the supposed Bigfoot is on an area where filming would be easy to do; the guys run toward him, he notice them and does nothing (remember Bigfoot is a savage animal that doesn't want to be seen); and walks like a person just on a straight line and just face the camera so nice. It looks like too much clean to be real.
Still if it really is the Bigfoot and if it is a wild ceature then why isn't he running from the guys that are filming him?? He should do everything to avoid them and not walk so calmly and just face the camera. It looks like he wants to be noticed. Simply put, there is no logical explanation for this video. Despite the physical dimentions of this creature, those two cowboys did not leave there house that day with catching bigfoot or fame on there mind. Search youtube for a vid called.........Patterson film, The Gluts..........and re-evaluate your statement. It's never been proven hoax and there are far too many details on the body they can't put in a film today without CGI. 0-)

The documentary that you are 100% sure about is 100% wrong. If we believe just what we see on TV then we are doomed. try searching the internet for other sources of information on the bigfoot phenomenon. There are some good books on the subject, also.
They big fat soles, that's all, hairless underneath naturally. Apparently the hand/feet solo color is somewhat yellowish, which also explains the 'whiteness' of them here. Of course, she's stepping in wet mud as well, plus the footage is old and faded.

if you look at the feet in the close up hen they look like shoes to me. I can't tell if it's a hoax or not, but I don't believe this stuff really unless there is hard evidence. Be cool if it was real though.
To answer Wootlander's question, its simple....Roger ran out of film and was on foot...he got thrown off his horse, remember? He and Gimilin returned to camp and got more film and set to follow the Sasquatch...they tracked her up the hill...and then over it...apparently when the Sasquatch felt she was out of the humans' sight, she ran. They followed her tracks until they disappeared into the forest.
By the way, that day, Roger's rented movie camera was two days overdue.
Another thing would be, why didn't they keep following? They seem to just stand in the same place and let it, literally, walk away from them. It doesn't look like it would have been too hard to catch up with. If it is real, then maybe they were shocked or something, I dunno...
It's lucky they didn't shoot it, otherwise we may've seen more hunted and shot in the last 41 years. Or then again maybe not, mentalities change, so had there been a body examined they'd naturally established by now what they are. Human or animal. I also think, even the toughest SOB would think twice facing a Bigfoot, is it human/is it not, the (dangerous) consequences of killing it are potentially enormous. For the slayer, for the Bigfoots, etc. The best situation would be to find a dead one.

See Monster Quest Bigfoot episode, the whole film is shown. There one clearly sees the long massive arms, still swinging as she disappears into the trees. Her body is impressively huge, even at that far distance. Verdict: no suit. Some people are gullible even about suits, they seem to think it's possible. It wasn't in '67, and isn't now, if it were they'd be using this model all the time for all Bigfoot monster movies ever since. And they haven't, you can spot obvious acting pronto. Not Patty.
If it was a suit, then why did Heironimus FAIL so miserablty with the re-creation in 2004??? I mean, shouldn't the suit have been better? I can't believe anyone would continue to believe he's the object depicted here!
On some cryptozoology site they mentioned how the hands would hang close to the knees rather than near the hip, as with humans, and this seems evident in the film. If its fake its pretty good but why add the breasts on it? some think its a baby clinging to it's chest but I don't see that.
I saw this footage redone on Monster Quest or something similar...it show muscles moving in the leg and the mouth opens... The detail is just too good for that time it was filmed...

Bigfoot is a sort of animal, but he is looking directly to the camera withoud running away or attacking. That is very strange, i don't think Bigfoot is real. I think that bigfoot is like the monster of Loch Nes, Yeti and Ufo's.
I've have come across many wild animals on the numerous trails around my house, that did not run away when they saw me. Instead they looked back, and then trotted away at a moderate speed into the underbrush/woods. So you cannot say this film is fake just by the way "bigfoot" looks at the camera and walks away.

Bigfoot do not live in the ocean, water is see-thru, making it very easy to find jellyfish, all you have to do is drop a camera into the water. Bigfoot do live in remote, heavily forested areas that are dense with vegetation and other cover and they are nocturnal. Bigfoot do not carry cellphones or GPS that can be tracked by satellites so I fail to see how that argument makes any sense whatsoever. It would be very difficult to capture a bigfoot considering their size, weight and strength.

I have heard many estimates of the number of bigfoot living in the US, most of these estimates range from 2000 to 6000. Bigfoot probably do not engage in your mentioned favorite pasttime. Carry on.
If the government put time into finding Bigfoot they probably would. They will not take the time or spend the money. Short of that, people like you and I have to search for it. Small expeditions are known for not being able to find a wall in a square room, or hit water after falling out of a boat. So the search goes on. It is unlikely but you never know and that is what makes it fun.
There's a fair chance of meeting a Bigfoot in the wild. Just pack a tent, bring a camera and go out in Bigfoot country for a couple of weeks, make your presence known to them let them know you're there. Live among them. Still not sure if the Patterson film is authentic. If only he could have been closer that day. Because the original film has to be cropped in so much it's JUST blurry enough to make it excrutiatingly ambiguous. Maybe someday enhancement will be advance enough to make certain it's a fake or not. I'm hoping it's real.

They're doing just fine, and so is the family I got to interact with in another part of the state I returned from yesterday. The family here enjoyed the sandwich bread I left for them saturday night. I left my recorder out all night and got recordings of them picking up the bag of bread off the metal chair, tearing open the bag and munching on the bread. I even got some mumbling sounds on the recording as well.

You could be right. Perhaps you've heard of Char Margolis. I think she's one of the only few credible spiritualists out there. I don't think Bigfoot has a soul. It's an animal after all. Someone once told me that animals KNOW that God exists. And Bigfoot is the most intelligent animal in the world...

I am still on the fence. I was leaning toward a hoax, but I just watched the 4 part interview with Bob Gimlin who was there with Patterson. Gimlin iis pretty convincing on his account of what happened and a pretty good speaker, so I am more neutral. If it is a hoax, you have to wonder what Gimlin gains by keeping this lie going, since according to his interview he was never really interested in "bigfoot" and in a sense proved it by giving few interviews over the years.

Yep, no fake for the incredibly simple reason that Hollywood couldn't, never before never after. Mostly because our own human anatomy prevents it from happening, we can only produce BF suits within human anatomy; shorter torso/longer legs. Look at HarryH with the best technology I guess, but it's all well within human body size and proportions. BFs have a much more apelike anatomy, Hollywood either never knew this or cared or bothered. And if you're lucky enough, one look will make U realize they're not apes & so you won't shoot. Shooting at bipeds under any circumstance is against the law, could be some moron in a suit. You think scientists are faking Bigfoot films, fragfoo? It wouldn't matter how much they'd know about anatomy, the technique to build it would have to come from Hollywood, and they just weren't ready and equipt at the time. You'd need cables, animatronics, all off screen but close and that is clearly not the case here. We saw none of that for another decade, plus, the mere fact that a human couldn't fit and fill such a huge and elaborate costume. Basically she's too wide for his arms, etc.

Then you haven't looked at anything but the footage. There's quite a bit of evidenxce this film brought forth. Foot length and width, stride length between each step, a key diference in the foot morphology between sasquatch and humans...........and of course different ways of validating the heigh, somewhere between 7'1" and 7'4". There's more, you just have to be willing to read instead of watch only and make an uneducated comment. 0-)

It's an interesting theory, but how do you support or substantiate such a theory. Planet of the apes didn't exhibit this kind of suuit. No other suits have exhibited the kind of muscle movement in groups scene here, no footware for suits has exhibited the kind of size or flexation of the foot scene from this primate. Footprint evidence seen from here to Australia. So theory's are fine, but dismissing the film or stating theories like their fact is just assenine.

And if you look right, the supposed Bigfoot is on an area where filming would be easy to do; the guys run toward him, he notice them and does nothing (remember Bigfoot is a savage animal that doesn't want to be seen); and walks like a person just on a straight line and just face the camera so nice. Despite the physical dimentions of this creature, those two cowboys did not leave there house that day with catching bigfoot or fame on there mind. To answer Wootlander's question, its simple....Roger ran out of film and was on foot...he got thrown off his horse, remember? He and Gimilin returned to camp and got more film and set to follow the Sasquatch...they tracked her up the hill...and then over it...apparently when the Sasquatch felt she was out of the humans' sight, she ran. They followed her tracks until they disappeared into the forest.
By the way, that day, Roger's rented movie camera was two days overdue.

See Monster Quest Bigfoot episode, the whole film is shown. There one clearly sees the long massive arms, still swinging as she disappears into the trees. Her body is impressively huge, even at that far distance. Verdict: no suit. Some people are gullible even about suits, they seem to think it's possible. It wasn't in '67, and isn't now, if it were they'd be using this model all the time for all Bigfoot monster movies ever since. And they haven't, you can spot obvious acting pronto. Not Patty.

On some cryptozoology site they mentioned how the hands would hang close to the knees rather than near the hip, as with humans, and this seems evident in the film. If its fake its pretty good but why add the breasts on it? some think its a baby clinging to it's chest but I don't see that.

I've have come across many wild animals on the numerous trails around my house, that did not run away when they saw me. Instead they looked back, and then trotted away at a moderate speed into the underbrush/woods. So you cannot say this film is fake just by the way "bigfoot" looks at the camera and walks away.

Bigfoot do not live in the ocean, water is see-thru, making it very easy to find jellyfish, all you have to do is drop a camera into the water. Bigfoot do live in remote, heavily forested areas that are dense with vegetation and other cover and they are nocturnal. Bigfoot do not carry cellphones or GPS that can be tracked by satellites so I fail to see how that argument makes any sense whatsoever. It would be very difficult to capture a bigfoot considering their size, weight and strength.

what i mean is that im sure if humans really wanted to capture one, it would not be so hard. we capture, tigers, lions, crocs and elephants. we have infra-red and heat sensors and tranquilizers. and what do u think the bigfoot population is, theres gotta be more than a few for them to reproduce. do u think theres only like 1 or 2 of them and they've been buttfucking each other for centuries? i know it makes ur life more interesting to believe in stuff like this. do u believe in santa too? haha

As difficult as it would be to capture a bigfoot, it has been done, many times in fact, here in America and also in Russia and other countries, too. If you would like to do your own research you can type some search words into your google search bar and click on some links and do some reading, ohhhhh, I think I just realized why you do your research by watching videos.

source? did u know a lot of the researchers LIE about things. they want to find it so bad that they'll use UTTER BULLSHIT as evidence. and please, dont lie to prove ur point, no bigfoot has EVER been caught. if so dont you think the person would claim a prize for it. There are roughly 350,000 square miles of dence unihabited forest in BC alone..let's do the math...if there are 350 of them in BC, that gives each animal 1000 square miles in which to roam..You are wrong, and continue to prove your absolute lack of knowledge, when you maintian that there are no real scientists who believe this...when I gave you the names of several your rebuttal was "yeah they probably think the world is flat"...nice logic. I have heard many estimates of the number of bigfoot living in the US, most of these estimates range from 2000 to 6000. Bigfoot probably do not engage in your mentioned favorite pasttime. Carry on.

If the government put time into finding Bigfoot they probably would. They will not take the time or spend the money. Short of that, people like you and I have to search for it. Small expeditions are known for not being able to find a wall in a square room, or hit water after falling out of a boat. So the search goes on. It is unlikely but you never know and that is what makes it fun.

There's a fair chance of meeting a Bigfoot in the wild. Just pack a tent, bring a camera and go out in Bigfoot country for a couple of weeks, make your presence known to them let them know you're there. Live among them. You might get a curious camp visitor at night. I'm quite serious, if you have the nerve give it a try! Only the brave explorers and those who dare wins! I believe Meldrum's been on a few outings and his group got visited too, only footage proof is lacking from these trips.

Here is the list of words hughseth (ladydragon dragonwhatever he has changed to this week) sent me in the Sasquatch language...-"ok, Ipishi nawk, owashi, snie nie wie gie wen, nash sippy opell" When I told him there was no 'p' sound in the Chreokee language he was dubious!!! He gives me a list of Bigfoot words, taught him by his hairy friends, and no 'p' in Cherokee he finds dubious??!! Try some of these words out in Bigfoots mother tongue! Straight from a loon to you!!

of course video footage is always lacking lol. i saw a giant bug about 20 ft tall and had 3 eyes. i did, i swear it i did, i chased it through the jungle, i had it on camera but it ate the camera, i barely escaped with my life. now just imagine that story, but a bit more realistic, and then have 100 other people believe me and telling the same story, thats how myths are made. stop believing. wtf is bigfoot country, u mean where people are bored and decide to make up stories.

Still not sure if the Patterson film is authentic. If only he could have been closer that day. Because the original film has to be cropped in so much it's JUST blurry enough to make it excrutiatingly ambiguous. Maybe someday enhancement will be advance enough to make certain it's a fake or not. I'm hoping it's real.

'Vader & Hugh, I don't have a lot of hope that a post from me will help, but humor me for a sec.
I made a plea for peace a few days ago, and I notice Kap did too. What is the point of all this vitriol? I know no one's asking my opinion, but haven't you both made your points? Why is a hateful ongoing war in these columns better than just ignoring each other? Strong disagreement is one thing (& fine), but this has gone way beyond that, and isn't doing either of you (or readers) a service.

Cna't get a shred of proof...well that's a pity" When I doubted you, you started with the obsenities...so disturbing were these rants that the poster removed them. ok..no more redicule...how was the Bigfoot family you visited yesterday? They're doing just fine, and so is the family I got to interact with in another part of the state I returned from yesterday. The family here enjoyed the sandwich bread I left for them saturday night. I left my recorder out all night and got recordings of them picking up the bag of bread off the metal chair, tearing open the bag and munching on the bread. I even got some mumbling sounds on the recording as well.

I would like to take this opportunity to apoligize to the entire Bigfoot community, and memebers of all branches of Anthropolgy for my ingnorance. Hugh had proof of Bigfoots existance, but because I was rude to him, he has decided to withhold all evidence. This would surely have been the biggest story in mankinds history...if only I hadn't been mean to him. Once again, apolgies to the Late Grover Krantz, and esecially to Jeff Meldrum from Idaho U. Proof was here pal, but I screwed it for us all!

What changed is time went by joey. I have a pic of them hiding in the brush in broad daylight and you can clearly see 2 faces, one of them showing red eye like you get when you take a pic of family or friends and you get the red eye. There's been a few people that have seen these pics, people I trust with just as much to lose in this as myself. You're just one person joey, how much ridicule would I face if I revealed the absolute truck load of evidence I have? How much did paterson face?

Thanks for answering my question Joey and I wasn't talking about bigfoots kapacon. I was talking about Mr. Roger Patterson. This may sound stupid or ridiculous, but if there are people in this world who can "talk" to dead people, why not use them to "contact the soul" of Mr. Patterson? They only have to ask one question: "Mr. Patterson, it's been 40 years now. Tell us the truth...." I'm being very serious now. If only I could find a spiritualist like Char....

Hey, it's worth a shot. But you will probably find many different spiritualists that will channel different answers. I knew you weren't referring to contacting a dead bigfoot. I only wanted to put the comment out there about "bigfoot's soul" as food for thought. Is it human or not? Is it half and half, and therefore has half a soul? I don't know--just a question.

You could be right. Perhaps you've heard of Char Margolis. I think she's one of the only few credible spiritualists out there. I don't think Bigfoot has a soul. It's an animal after all. Someone once told me that animals KNOW that God exists. And Bigfoot is the most intelligent animal in the world...

It would be interesting, to say the least, to get her to do something like that. I do think some people have a psychic ability. But unfortunately, there are so many opportunistic hoaxers that "muddy the water". It's that way with trying to prove bigfoot also--so many hoaxers.
