If the Republicans take the Senate the Filibuster will be history. They'll ignore everything the Democrats have in opposition and merely pass it anyway by reinterpreting Senate Rules.
a majority is a majority. 51 votes is a majority. the reality of american politics however is that because everything get filabustered, we end up with either completely watered down legislation (it HAS to appeal to everyone), or with nothing at all. if the president can get elected by 51% of the vote, we can pass legislation with the same majority...
Misrepresenting and misleading! When talking about filibuster averages (1 or 2 in the 50s, 20-30 in the 70s, ect...) he uses the graph illustration to show YEARLY average, showing in the 1970s it averaged 20 to 30 filibusters per year. But THEN he goes on, in an attempt to unfairly disgrace the republican party, to show how many filibusters the GOP did in 2007 AND 2008 (tricky wording, see?) which was 112 for BOTH of those years, so about 56 per year averaged out. Sure it's more but lets be fair
I laugh so much at your filibustering traditions HA HA HA HA HA

@jgizzy It's a pity that your perfectly reasonable post gets flagged as spam...The left really don't like freedom of speech do they?

The Filibuster is like a gun
It helps the weak and lame to stand on equal ground with their stronger, more aggressive adversary.
Stopping a few pieces of special interest law making is a good thing
Having a definitive majority supporting a piece of legislation might suggest that legislation hurts only a few states
I really liked his molasses pit reference but I think he should have gone whole hog and just said "it's now a tar baby'.
...don't throw me in 'dat der brier patch...
