Toronto radio station CFNY 102.1 FM (now The Edge) had this on a compilation they put out to clubs in 1991. However, the Catherine Wheel song was supposed to be "I Want To Touch You". I'm glad of the mistake, 'cuz this is the better song. Shakespeare's Sister is also on that tape! lol
This whole album is just great! One of my all time favourites. And I've seen them live in Clapham Grand, '91/2, not sure (not even of the venue). It was long time ago...
one of the best live shows i've seen, Great American Music Hall (not sure of the year-1999/2001? but damn did they sound better and more intense than the record and the record is still one of my favorites
Damn, Damn Damn......... and I've never seen them live. One grrrrrrrrrreat band I sadly never saw. They're absolutely incredible.I cannot say it enough.....they always give me goosebumps; I feel them through every fiber of my being.
All of you Catherine Wheel and shoegazing fans, hear me! we need to start to share this rare and glorious sound to the rest of the world! seriously, it's a fucking shame that these guys are not as famous as Muse, green day, metallica, iron maiden or AC/DC! so let’s start new shoegazing wave! share and tips this to anyone who like good and loud guitars with awesome lyrics! who is with me? Spread the word!
I thought I'd found it... I Wanna Touch You by Catherine Wheel form the first album Ferment... but, alas... nooooooooooooo... not there: you're killing me.
Reminds me of my old bedroom in my mum and dads house.Coming down from Madchester.Apart from Stone Roses I would say Catherine Wheel,Ride,House of Love trounced Madchester
Masters... simply masters... why not propose Catherine Wheels tracks for a movie soundtrack or something. Sound fine for a cars action movie. Finally "Black Metallic" was inspirated in a car. Will be great to see it in a film.
Great song. An old roommate got me into these guys in the late 90's. She had better taste in music than me at the time. This song still hold up today IMHO.

Still shoegaze, but harder and with more edge. Kind of an interesting take on the genre.

It was released in early 1990.
This was a band so far ahead of their time. I miss the CW. Rob Dickenson is solo now and has two amazing albums out.
