  • Got to watch him play several times in person, caught a batting practice homerun ball at Jacobs Field in Cleveland! Dude is just awesome

  • Such a simple swing. so effortless

  • @mikero

  • I was fortunate enough to see Griffey play in person twice back in '93 and '99 at Yankee Stadium. Even when he popped the ball up, you thought the ball was going to land in the bleachers because of how smooth his swing was and how much the ball jumped off his bat. I remember people saying Jordan looked better missing a shot than most NBA players looked when they hit theirs; well Griffey looked better striking out than most MLB players looked when they hit homeruns. Such a smooth swing.

  • @DCLocal84 I got to the stadium early back in '96 just to see him take BP. I remember he pointed to the 399 sign in left center, stuck the bat head out, and cranked one right over the sign. Then he reared back and smashed two half way up the upper deck in right. He was just badass.

  • @mothshen123 roids..

  • there are sirens because griffeys homers are killing people

  • Is he just that good that he knows he isn't going to hit the people on the field?

  • may not have had the most perfect swing but it was the sweetest

  • A-Rod is better

  • @TittyTittyBangBangXX NOT EVEN CLOSE...KEN GRIFFEY = ALL NATURAL

  • @jcantstop24 FUCK YOU GO SUCK A WANG FAGGOT!!!!

  • @TittyTittyBangBangXX WASNT THAT SERIOUS...I HEARD A-ROD LIKES THAT THOUGH.

  • @jcantstop24 OMG!!! TAKE IT BACK!!!!! >:(

  • @TittyTittyBangBangXX >:( NO BECAUSE ITS TRUE!!!

  • Is this really in the Phillippines?

  • dont ever go to the phillipines. there just a bunch of cheaters

  • Ken Griffey Jr and Jim Thome are my 2 fav players all natural no steroids no nothing

  • @JarredCarder you sure about Jim Thome?? hmmmm??....things that make u go hmmmmm.???

  • The Kids in right field arent even moving lol smoothest swing baseball has ever seen HANDS DOWN!

  • @ramirezjesse3 one of the smoothest. but you cant say absolutely smooother than Ted Williams, Billy Williams, Tony Gwynn, or dozens of others.

  • brian my azz hurts barry stop kid this hurts me more then its hurts you????

  • I saw Griffey hit many homers in Seattle... he had such a sweet swing... awesome player!

  • If you guys think this is awesome, i got to watch him smack a little white golf ball around in Ireland in May. HE HIT BOMBS ALL DAY

  • man that pop of the bat..

  • where is tht field? and what is it called?

  • Junior always had that sweet left handed swing. Good video.

  • where is Manila exactly

  • @kellbros2 I just looked it up. Looks like the Philippines.

  • @kellbros2 philippines

  • @ericrepine wow

  • BEST BATTING STANCE PERIOD!!!!!!!!

  • LOL, flips don't make it in pro ball.

  • the newest "thrilla in manila"

  • i went to see him one year and he took the day off cause it was sunday

  • Do I smell comeback?

  • I am so happy i got to see him play just once in person.. i went to a game when he was on the reds and they were playing seattle, just watching him in bp, and in the game, such a powerful hitter. great player, best seattle will ever have, and a true Mariner. Forever The Kid

  • what a beautiful sound

  • Wow, listen to the crack of the ball off the bat. Amazing.

  • ITS NOT TO LATE COMEBACK TIME!@

  • is he traveling doing homerun clinics? he inspired me I was kind of upset with how seattle treated him on his return back. He should have had a better retirement im happy they are having a bad season this year. This cat is a LEGEND!!

  • I wish I could have gotten a chance to see him play in person. In my opinion he is the greatest player of the last 25-30 years. At least since Mays, Aaron and all of those greats retired in the early 70's. I live in pgh and cinnci did come thru, but that wasnt the tru Griff, we all know the true Griff resided in Seattle. Best I ever saw, best there ever was, best there ever will be.

  • @SgtHoagie1983 no way kid, albert pujols played at the same time griffey was, griffey is a career .270 hitter, pulos at that time was a career .332 hitter

  • @muma0449 Griff came up in 89 as a 19 yr old, and was an old man for most of the duration Pujols was in the league, or sidlined with significant injuries,Kid

  • @SgtHoagie1983 Albert Pujols?

  • @learnsports Willie Mays is the best all around player ever. If any of you clowns that respond knew and loved baseball you'd see that, that line is from the movie the Natural and is an expression.

  • @SgtHoagie1983 i never said anyting about willie mays lol

  • @SgtHoagie1983 best there ever was, best there ever will be? slight exaggeration. griffey was great and might have retired as the greatest ever if he didn't get so many injuries. unfortunately he did so he wasn't. just sad that we weren't able to see just what accomplishments he could have done if he had stayed healthy.

  • @jonessteve856 I posted this a yr ago and you just now comment......

  • @SgtHoagie1983 "what about willie mays?"......."what about joe dimaggio?"..... "what...what about babe ruth?" if you noticed, i asked this in a sarcastic tone. these were great players but i feel griffey is a result of darwins theory of evolution. he was the michael jordan of baseball.

  • @SgtHoagie1983 how can you not include barry on your list of greats?

  • THE GREATEST PLAYER I EVER SAW PLAY THE GAME OF BASEBALL, PLAYED THE GAME THE RIGHT AWAY, NO SUPPLEMENTS OF ANY KIND, JR WAS SIMPLY ELECTRIFYING TO WATCH, HIS DEFENSE AND OFFENSE, ALL AROUND GREATEST.........

  • @PabloCorleone24 ok bud he's one of my all time favorites as well but who knows if he took roids or not. Anyone could have taken them. Theres other lists out there with positive names so only time will tell. And even if he isnt on a list we still dont know. I sure hope he didnt though.

  • he didnt take steroids other wise he would have broken the all time record his chest and arms never really got any bigger all his power came from his hips if u watch his swing that is why it looks so effortless.

  • @PabloCorleone24

    Sorry, but was...

He was injured right in his prime and that was it.

    Sucks for him!

Manny Ramirez stats owns this guy any day

    SORRY!

  • @eshelmen

You mean the Manny Ramirez that tested positive TWICE and retired instead of facing a 100-game suspension for performing enhancing drug use? Yeah, his stats were honestly better. But he was not better honestly.

  • @Stumanji77

Why ask a question as if there are more than one Manny`s? Lmfao

Safe to say there was a huge era of many players taking a lot of things was there not?

    Mark Mcguire, BONDS even.

Ramirez had as smoothe of a swing and if not better than griffeys.

Roids dont make you see the ball better I hope you know that.

Ramirez connected over .300 for his BA life time.

  • @eshelmen

    Ugh. You fail.

  • @Stumanji77 wanna blow me now?

    K thanks by

  • @eshelmen

    Clever.

  • @eshelmen fact is, Ramirez cheated. was he a great hitter? of course. unfortunately, we'll never know what he could have done clean. no steroids dont help your eyesight, but they do help you hit the ball harder, farther. which turns routine fly balls or line drives into homeruns or over the fielders head. turns grounders in a hole that would be scooped by an infielder, hit harder making it through.

  • Ken Griffey still look like a million bucks in this video
