I just purchased two embalming machines, they are old portiboy PE9 i could really use some help on information about how to properly clean and test them to see if they still work. Anyone who can help please email me @ stclanemarketing@gmail.com thank you
@raven8699 Hmmmn, never really thought of it like that before. Thanks for the reply. Do they flush body parts down the sink too, like if the insides of a person if the body is grossly decomposed with like maggots and icky stuff like that? I just always wondered. Or do they flush those parts down the toilet? Years ago, I was told that "they" cut out all the organs and put em in a plastic bag inside the carcass? I dont know if that was true or not. Thanks.
@Wellington5392 Hi! Sorry I was so forward in my last comment. Anyway, no...body parts, organs, teeth bones etc. are not disposed of in that matter. We keep as much of the individual together as possible not only for legal but ethical reasons. Only body fluids like blood, purge, urine and poo go down the drain. When a autopsy is conducted the organs are placed into a bio hazard bag and stuffed back into the thorax for us to treat during the embalming. (it's pretty messy) So ya, it's true. ;)
@unique557 There is normally cold water, a mixture of embalming fluids [to help bring some color back to the body since after a person dies, the pinkish color of their skin fades] and normally [or when I did mine] there was a chemical to fight off infections. Embalming is usually used more as a means to disinfect the body rather than preserving it for long periods of time. I hope this answered your question!
lol lol i use it my normal cocktial for a normal case is One point, restoratone Care 18 ( 2btls) and a bottle of triton-28 every case gets a bottle of triton-28
Indeed my personal preference is certainly on the side of the Duotronics. They're good, simple, well-designed, and there's not too much to go wrong with them. And of course, to get dye right you have to be able to see the tank. I hate the Dodge machines, they really seem to die when you least expect them to and with little warning.
Everybody wonts to work in a funeral home because they think it is easy but its not. Late nights no time to soend with family no vacations. But I would'nt work anywhere else but the funeral home i love it
I much prefer the Duotronics to the dodge machines because of the external tank. I hate how you can't see your fluid in the dodge machines. However, they are both better than portaboys which are useless.
i like the porti-boi i think its a good unit you blink the fluid is gone. Plus when the power ever go out you can still gravity with that machine you cant do that with the others. been embalming since i was 15 but lic since i was 19 SF College of Mort Sci. C/o 94
@k3ith26 o yeah you sure can lol just unplug it and the fluid will gravitate on its one. But slow because its not raised but ive done it 4 times but thats when the power went out. have to use what you have to get the job done still. You would still have to elevate the machine to a higher counter but it does work

@UJustLostTheGame How long does the embalming fluid last before the dead body starts to rot and stink? Is it good "forever"?
