do i need a good cooling system if i overclock my cpu, ram, and my video card?

i have an intel e2180 @ 2.00GHz and GeForce 8600GT. i'm planning to overclock my cpu if possible, up to 3.00GHZ. all i have for my cooling system are three 120mm cooling fans for my computer and just the fan for my cpu that came with it.

do i need a good cooling system for my cpu if i overclock it?? if i do, can anybody recommend a good but affordable cooling system like below $60.

make sure you have proper cooling before you go nuts on overclocking... you will have a big paper weight on your hands if you don't... The basic idea of overclocking is the more you overclock and the more voltages used, the hotter the component gets. just watch what you're doing and tinker with it first, don't just go to 3ghz.

let me explain it,overclocking is mostly used by gamers to improve performance levels by about 15%,20% sometimes or mainly to increase the fps(frames per second)in a game.There are many types of overclocking like cpu,gpu and ram memory,the cons though is it might shorten life of components and temperatures start to increase thats why u see people with liquid nitrogen and water cooling,overclock is common.Some pros can even overclock to increase their performance level by about 40% with stability

I find that whale semen dissipates the heat much better than heat sinks. I overclocked a 286 to 10Ghz, then the cpu opened up a portal to biblical times. I was afraid to go. The computer said it was going to find out of jesus was really the son of god or man. Havent heard from it since. It was a tandy deskmate if your interested. I tried the same with a 486dx and it conked out at 300Mhz. i think that Tandy was just special. Oh Tandy where art thou???
