Wow. They are gorgeous. It's cool how they're sticking to their eggs.
So I was wondering. I am going to be getting a 50 gallon tank here pretty soon. I was half planning on getting like 3 discus to put in it. I will be using reverse osmosis water.
I actually currently have a few fish. I have 1 cory, a few assorted tetras (I inherited them so I have no idea what they are). I know the discus enjoy very warm water, so would you say that the majority of tetras would be able to handle the temp?
@sloppi1234 rain water is not suitable in my opinion unless you live far out in the country side, there are too many pollutants in town/city rain water, discus need very clean and pure water to thrive.
are these fish hard to keep with 4 adult angels, 1 swordtail, 3 corydoras cat fish, and 5 tiger barbs, almost fully grown? ohh and there all in a 40 gallon tank with slightly- very slightly acidic water
Hi, Discus can be kept with angels and corydoras without problems, the corys should be a strain such as Sterbai as they can take the the higher water temperatures that discus need (29-30c - 84-86F) Tiger barbs and swordtails are completely unstitable as tank mates, barbs will attack the discus stressing them and causing illness... the swordtail really needs to be in a hard water tank. :-)
