@Deathbringer99699 i'd guess thats the actual day alan moore wrote that bit. watchmen was published in 86' so it stands to reason that it was being written in 85'
When will you understand that the movie adaptations HAVE their rights to alter a certian things from the comics? Rorschach's voice namely. Personally, if his voice had been like this in the movie we'd have all been bored to death everytime he spoke. It's impossible to feel bored by a voice we can only imagine while reading, but when we actually have to listen it I think it just couldn't have worked in the movie.
totally prepaired for halloween this year. Scared piss out of local kids. Taught them that turning tricks on the streets is not worth the treats, whatever that means.
I think this is the voice of Rorschach. No offence to JEH, but his Rorschach was very different from the comics. Instead of being blank and emotionless he was angry and energetic.
This voice is monotonous, steady and utterly resentful without making overly gruff and angry.
Most likely one of the most famous quotes in the comic universe. I loved Marvel but, as soon as I laid my eyes on the first words of the graphic novel. I was in love. With DC
"Hes just a fag. Hes by far the worst comic book charictor EVER.
And to anyone that does like him - go die, you are everything wrong in this world."
This comment is the epidemy of stupid. Honestly, can you even form a rational thought, let alone spout something that is at least coherent? Not to mention your overall mockery to the English language. Please leave so I may recover from the sheer idiocy I've just read. Good day, sir.
The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"...and I'll look down, and whisper "No." -Rorschach
Where can I find this animation? I read the GN, but I didnt know it was also in an animated form, is the whole thing like this? I would really like to watch it if possible
I LOVE the originality, but to me, this doesn't sound like Rorschach. It sounds like a guy who's narrating a young teen / child novel on a video cassette. Doesn't seem dark enough.
Alan Moore reads it quite well. He knows how to read Rorschach because he wrote it and heard him in his head. His reading is the best you´re gonna find.
Rorschach was a stereotypical hero early on in his career
*spoiler alert, but honestly if your watching this what can you expect*
His voice was normal and his demeanor was friendly, or less hostile at least. It was after the horrible murder of a young girl that he turns into more of the Anti-hero, giving you a feeling of ambivalence. He becomes the extreme Conservative, an exaggeration of the Right-Wing, an ironic character in a sense, him being a hero.
Maybe not "Atticus Finch" hero, but Rorschach is still a hero for having this strange maniac view of punishing evil. Since he's a vigilante, he can do what the police cannot because of the laws.
That was precisely the idea of Rorschach though. What if someone like Batman or the Question existed in real life? He'd have to be a fucking lunatic. How would others view his vigilantism? To what ends does one go to pursue his purviews of justice? He believes himself to be the only real hero, but that's because the work has worn him down and the lines have blurred. No civilian feels safe because of him, they're afraid of him. Thusly I find it difficult to classify him as a hero.
Trust me, i already know all the stuff he said. I've got a friend who's obsessed with Watchmen, i've seen interviews with Alan Moore... I know it's a satire of the super hero genre. And for the same reasons you just stated, i think Rorschach IS a hero.
Just like Midna is a princess...
and Jack Sparrow is a weird hero...
and Ford Prefect is my favorite character ever...
@INtheORCHID hero or not he kept his humanity down to the word " never compromise even in the face of Armageddon" he stood by that till he died i think thats somewhat heroisnm
@INtheORCHID well if my expectations of what a hero is are met then thusly Rorschach is a hero to me. It depends on what you personally define as a hero, so your own expectations apply.
@INtheORCHID Didn't get it, pal. What do you mean? Rorschach moral sense is wrong? Although he was compromised with the truth, he was the only character (besides Nite Owl) with an unshakable moral sense. The truth is the truth, and justice is justice, whatever the means you need achieve it. It's a bulshit to say people deserve more than the truth. The truth is terrifying, but necessary.
this is kool and all but i go to school with animators and shit and... this is pretty bad voice acting, he sounds like a robot with a chicken up his ass. its still kool tho. cant wait for the movie.....
wait is this the digital novel that you can get on itunes?????????
This entry is Rorchach's harshest in my opinion. I like his other ones more.

Rorschach represents the extreme of good and bad and no grayness in between.
Veidt represents evil for the greater good. He believes in justification for 3million peoples death for the human race to live.
What you decide is correct is your decision.
