Dude... I've listened to this track several times and just now realized you're the one who wrote it.
This is easily the most magnificent original FamiTracker piece I've ever heard - you have incredible ears and amazing vision. It's good to see it isn't lost in obscurity.
Modern game developers don't deserve music of this caliber. They can have their licensed music and 29034857-piece orchestras.
The Konami of yesteryear would be proud of what you've done with their expansion chip.
This is so amazing... It actually brought tears to my eyes. I am dead fucking serious. To know that there are people making music like this makes me a better person
Also, parts of the countermelody seem reminiscient of Moulin Rouge. I don't know why. Still, this is a beautiful piece, and I hope that you make more like it.
@FeatheredEden VCR6 was a chip Nintendo of japan used in some cartridges to add sound channels to some games. Search Castlevania 3 Famicom version (japanese name: Akumajou densetsu). And compare with the Usa version of the same game.
this is a wicked track!!! Do you post on 8bc.org at all? If so, what is your handle there? If not, i recommend posting stuff on there as it's an 8-bit community. I think they'd get a kick out of your stuff. Cheers
dude awesome track, u should submit your stuff to game companies, with all the retro revival games coming out or even retro inspired game. classic soundtracks like this are a must.
So it starts out like a Zelda dungeon, then turns kinda Metroid-ish, then it just goes BAM into some Megaman magic. It finally finishes with this epic ending, as if everybody died and the world is sad now.
Whoa... I'm most surprised with how epic this song proves to be. It definitely is a song I could see in a sort of 'creepy castle' level on the NES. An excellent song it proves to be, and I look forward to more original works!

my question is, why isn't your music in video games? you should work on that.

This gets better every time I listen to it. I can imagine a story that goes along with the song. It's a shame I can't draw to save my life....

@TallicaMan1986 It does sound like something you'd kick ass in a castlevania game while listening to.

@pikachu0exe: This is FamiTracker, a free tracker program designed to faithfully emulate the sound hardware of the Nintendo Famicom.

This sounds really good! And what's more, it actually feels like it references many of the classic 8-bit sound styles over the years. Nicely done.

One word: EPIC!
jnk1296 1 year ago
For some reason it sounds not really like 8-bit even it is. Perhaps some samples are too noisy. It hurts my ear in any case.
However most of it is enjoyable.^^
