Thanks for a little insight the WI senator's escapades. Although disgusted at his actions, i commend him for not just telling you "no comment," and diving into the car. Nice snipe 800.
wesconsin has has the worst senators like the creator of the patriot act. i forget his name but he's a facist and he supports anything that gives the gov control over the people. go to aclu and eff
809Cart. California? And you really care this much about lil' ol' Wisconsin? So you believe in "happy cows" and union busting? I pay taxes in Wisconsin. In this case, I do believe my opinion might count just a touch more than yours. Thanks, though.
@becci223 If you voted for a democrat, then, no, your opinion doesn't count. You elected these people to speak for you. Instead, they became silent. You and I vote for people that represent our opinions and voices. When they decide NOT to represent you, then your opinion is not heard. These elected officials decided that your opinion isn't worth hearing so they left the state. I can't believe you're not outraged at them.
@onrekids What alternate reality are you living in? Nobody here mentioned Beck. Don't listed to the radio either - some of us simply think for ourselves.
800Cart. Absolutely, people who vote should be heard. I voted, I pay taxes, I would like to be heard. Walker has refused to discuss this budget repair bill. He isn't looking to fix anything. Look at the actual bill. There is not really much of it that repairs anything in the budget. It is an attack on unions and it's blatant. Today, unions offered all financial concessions if he would remove the collective bargaining attack. He refused, because this is NOT about repairing the budget.
@becci223 Afraid you are barking up the wrong tree here, Becca. I live in CA where unions have done much worse damage than in WI. So yes, I am all for breaking the back of collective bargaining in the public sector where it's the tax payer who get shafted. No pay cuts, no retirement cuts, but newbies should be starting on a lower pay/retirement scale. Unions had their chance to do good, and they blew it.
@becci223 Nobody is asking to remove ALL collective bargaining rights. I HAVE read the bill. They just don't want anybody to be able to ask for huge raises anymore. They want the pay increases to be in line with the current CPI. What do you find wrong with that?
As for your comment about "not really much" of a repair... So, if it doesn't fix the entire budget, just throw the whole thing out? What was the point of the comment?
@becci223 Just remember Becci, that the good folks of WI elected this governor, and your 'attack on labor' is cost contro ro reduce a deficit from the good taxpaying citizens of WI who feel they are already paying enough in taxes. Since they are actually the ones paying the paychecks and healthcare of these union employees, I'd say they can have a say too, wouldn't you?
This is deplorable behavior for elected officials, I hope that everyone remembers this when it is time to vote again. I can't imagine people complaining about the proposal when I currently pay a higher %rate for my healthcare benefits plus I have no pension and my 401K is not being matched due to budget cuts. The elited elected need to remember who pays their salary and the union rent a mobs need to go home.

As a citizen of IL, I am ashamed, (as if I could be anymore ashamed) of my state for not making these criminals go home. But when we are run by the same kind of political mob bosses that are fleeing Wisconsin, what can we expect?!
