wow, if we're gonna talk about what it could be about... then how about the fact that in Elephant Eyelash he was talking about a relationship he was having with someone, who he quite seriously felt he was in love with and progressively they were falling apart... after they ended this was the next album and maybe this was how he felt about there relationship and even though they're arent together he still cares for her but wouldn't go back to her

it's about him and his girlfriend falling asleep at their house, but someone left the gas oven on unignited. the gas killed his girlfriend, but not him.
