See, Flight of the Bumblebee only sounds good on Oboe. It sound ok on other instruments, but nothing like on oboe. Oboe has the sound of a bumblebee that other instruments dont have. It sounds phenomenal. Whoever said the duck comment needs to know this: Oboe naturally sounds like that. Its most likely YOU who sounds like the duck, and is jealous of this! Beautiful! I loved it :D

Very nice, and trust me I'm a basson player, double reeds are way harder then anyother instrument combined. I also play virtuoso piano and vibes, Averae guitar, Average bassoon.

Wow! My band has only like 70 as well and i'm a senior and this year is the only year we've had oboes and bassoons since i came to the school. Two switched to bassoon their senior year and i switched to oboe and we have a foreign exchange student who plays oboe too.

I've only played for about six months but its getting better!

its is amazing :) I'm a freshmen this year and my high school has a huge and very well known band program, like there are 1,000 if not more people in band and for freshmen, i'm the only oboe :) and there are only three other oboes.

Don't be sad ! Just try to improve ! Believe in yourself , you can do it ^^ I also sucked when i first started playing the clarinet . But now it's bettter , and I've moved on to Eb Clarinet instead of the usual Bb . :)

So you think this is a large number of oboes/double reed players. I play once a year for a group of 30-40 oboe/english horn players and maybe a handful of basson players.
