I'm playing global agenda and so far the combat system is good i like all aspects of the game though you do end up with bad teams now and again but so far i can't put this game down. Couldn't agree with you more Xeros. KoV just totally lost interest in AvA. To readers/viewers- the game is solid, but so shallow you'll loose interest in a month and a half. We wanted it to work. It hasn't yet. +1 for you Xeros. Oto out ^^
yes it's in europe BUT if you get the game 1st character when u look 4 a mission u wanna use "North America" servers cause the europe servers are usually ALWAYS empty 4 missions
I am rather disconnected. Now that it is March 14th, have you heard anymore? Do you know if they have heard your pleas and those of others and have recognized their "identity crisis?" (well put)?
I am an old Tribes player and really want to like this game, but I don't want to get ripped off, and $60 is steep for -any- game now days.
Seems I will have to wait. Where do you go to get your news to know if they are making the game better, or worse?
Hex's are more the review implies. You can have 3 different type of things on your controled hex ( mine, lab and factory) you assign tasks to each place and the longer you control /more the more resourses you can get .These are used to make tanks, android squads, missile factorys and much more. The game is comming along and is worth a try .Not a bad review but you should give more complete info.
Damn I'm not trying any other MMO's unless they get highly praised. Only thing I'm really waiting for is The Old Republic and Maybe FFXIV, guess i gotta still till wow till then..
You tell us to not listen to reviews cause they're mostly WoW players that don't know what they're talking about... but you put out a review and expect us to listen to it?

That said... This is HiRez's first game, and it is VERY well done considering. No game is perfect at launch. Even console games, single player only, release with flaws that are fixed with patches at later dates now-a-days.
But all things considered, HiRez did a very good job with this game.
@Aveoon32 Tera is a game in the future, I said at the MOMENT people aren't ready for hybrid games. In the near future I can imagine hybrid games doing well.

@lumpycereal This is true, HOWEVER the 10v10 pvp really isn't that much fun in the long run due to the blandness of the maps. For a really casual gamer this game is alright, but there are more fun games out there even for the casual crowd.

@yeaotube The game is about coordination and strategy, not about who can land the first headshot. It is not some silly Counter-Strike revisit. You have to make all the right decisions at all the right times. Firefights are not two seconds long. They have depth and dynamic.
I disagree with you most of the time yes when you hybrid a mmo or an fps it usually comes out like some sort of mutilated cow but if you just do the stereotypical mmo or fps you just get a standard cow and that gets borin a lot faster the only thing that keeps people playing mmos and fps games is they set a max level point or some sort of chain of new prizes for playing a ceirtan amount of time but if you could somehow breed a mmofps together you would get a cow that could fly and thats more fun
this is why game companiesl ike bioware shut there mouth and dont say stuff till its golden :P but i like global agenda im gonna play as off game when im bored of wow sometiems its not really MMO but its a good Shooter RPG(shallow) guess.
I'm certainly glad I watched this, I did not participate in alpha nor beta but ever since I saw the add on the steam homepage I've been quite interested. Although this is the first review I have found talking about it's flaws. I was planning on buying this game soon but I might wait and see if any of these issues will be resolved.
I was also surprised on the lack of reviews talking about its flaws. The big thing GA needs is content to back up the gameplay, the mechanics are solid, but there's no real content. Apparently there will be a content patch this month, however I would wait for that before purchasing.
FYI - A good indicator that there will be more content is that both Alpha and Beta download sizes were bigger than the current GA Live - Alpha 10 gig Live like 7.
Alpha did have more expansive missions along the lines of a story line but all i remember about them was that the jetpack let you get everywhere and you could get out of the map almost instantly..
Perhaps, this is why I state for people to wait. The game is very incomplete at the moment, the game needs content mostly because majority of the content is half-baked.
Yes it feels very incomplete atm. It's basically like the multiplayer option of any fps like MW2 but without the awesome campaign. Something which I pray will be implemented in March because as of now its just free 5 levels.
-Not to mention half of the closed shops in the dome..-
Now on the plus side- this first month of free AvA I think is to establish -Trueskill- and the economy. Alpha just tested mechanics and interface and Beta numbercrunched and debugged all that on a larger scale.
I find GA very unfriendly to softcore players. At most I have about 2-3 hours a day to waste away and since my xbox is broken, I'm playing GA. The only thing Core about GA is PvP and even that is limited to instances.
There is no story line but the intro, and I really like to immerse myself in the gameplay and world and the rich stories that devs write in the World and Story forums- I dont see any of that.
@sampension I would agree at the moment, and honestly the people who just want to play the 10v10 regular pvp matches for a month or two from the get go will have fun for a bit, but it's nothing long term.
@Psychronicle The game gets boring very fast if u play nonestop (5-8 maps). Nothing really keeps u going just the xp for now. It's a shame because finally we have a sci-fi mmo game and it fails. But atleast we got Earthrise Online coming q2 this year and maybe it's a better game as it's developed in EU.
This fellow clearly hasn't played the game in terms of AvA. He talks about how its not there and is nothing in the hexes. Each hex is a control point which can be used to construct HQ's and other types of buildings. Special hexes have bonuses for resources and production. He speaks of AvA having linked combat between instances, It will fact have this. Yet he had no ideas what it is. A base in a hex with 6 surrounding hexes You have 6 teams of 10 run into those hexes and they will affect each other
@Metsuro I played AvA, and it's empty. But, it's okay wait a month or two and you'll see what I'm talking about. In the mean while, Bad Company 2 is just a better game. In ten minutes you'll have more fun than a week in GA.
What in AvA is empty? You have breach styled capture the point missions. Each hex has its purpose, get a mine hex for resources, or get a lab hex blue prints, or a factory hex to make robots and vehicles.
In an AvA match you can run around in hover rocket crafts, or robot vehicles from Demolition.
And you'd know this if you played the AvA more, but you didn't. Its clear you have no understanding of AvA, and want to keep confusing it with Fort Raids.
@Metsuro That's just recycling modes from regular pvp matches. AvA is nothing but a rehash, like I said AvA is mediocre and there's nothing unique to the table. Obviously fanboys of the game who ARE NEW will see the game a bit differently for now. I've been playing since March 2009, so I'm rather intimate with the games workings.
@Metsuro I like to generalize a bit, but Agency versus Agency Base Raids at the 6x 10v10 linked battles. But, it's not in the game. I was talking about what's in the game, and not much is there.
But you arn't right on the subject AvA again is a blanket term, and everything in the core of AvA is there. The capture points, the player buildings, the player HQ's. The conflict's between agencies fighting over the land. All there as promised, what is missing are fort raids.
But you dont really know what a review is. When you review something, you bring up the bad things it has, and the good things it has. Not what its lacking, once your there its solely what you think a game should be.
@Metsuro Did you watch at the end of the video? I listed everything, I said I'd cover AvA, and there's very little good to say about it. And if you think all the things have been delivered then truly you are a fanboy and there's nothing I can do about that.
One facet of AvA is missing, and your saying there is nothing, its empty. I'm not a fanboy to say the least, I still think the game has alot left to go.
However I do know what the game is, and the difference between what was promised, and what is in the game. The core of AvA is there, fort raids are missing yes, a single facet is missing burn them at the stakes!
But you say in your review their is no point in owning hexes, and the ammount of hexes is totally off by several hundred.
@Metsuro I'm not saying the game doesn't have anything, I'm just saying that there's no point to what's there. I'm done spamming with you, difference of opinion. If a game offers nothing to you in order to do something then we call that a game with potential, but not using it. AoC, WAR and Aion had potential, but it wasn't used. GA is NO different, I seriously doubt the game will take off in a month or two, these 'soon to be' features have been promised since alpha. It's called bullshiting.
@Metsuro By the way, I like the way you present yourself, you're constructive and I like that. You have no idea how many posts I had to remove due to people saying things like 'dude this guy is scrub lawl faggot' comments. Thanks for the exchange of opinions and maybe I'll see you in Bad Company 2.
@Metsuro Add me on steam, CP plays BC2 all the time, and come release we'll have some servers of our own (us being cybernetic punks). I sent you a message containing it.
@Metsuro Also, you say it will have it, but it doesn't now and that's what matters. Every developer says they will have something and when they don't have it they back pedal. AvA feels like an afterthought.
This is an opinion, and you are fully entitled to it. But you shouldn't project incorrect information. The devs NEVER said there was going to be 60 vs 60 (everyone on one screen). All the incorrect information is pointed out in the thread on the OF. Maybe they made the intricacies of AvA too complicated. A lot of people were confused on that 60 v. 60 thing.
But you may want to learn the difference between a fort raid, and AvA. While they take place in the same zone map. AvA is domination of all hexes on a given map.
Fort raids are when you attack the bases and the 6 surrounding hexes. Where doing something in this hex will affect another. Yes it currently isn't in yet from what I know, but your still misinformed on this topic.
I can see how/why you could be disappointed in regards to AvA but that doesn't justify not buying the game. IMO at best that only justifies not being a subscriber.
The general pvp is very solid for being a fresh release with what I expect to have many upgrades to it. The pve too has a lot of new modes down the rode one of which I look most forward too is a defense kind of pve.
Again like you said a lot cannot be known until a month or so down the road.
@GamersThumb86 Yep, and honestly because of all the awesome games coming out it would be wise to wait a month before buying the game to see how it will turn out. A lot of veteran players aren't that happy with this game (by veteran I mean people from Alpha and early beta).
Reviews will not reflect a long term view on the game. playing it for the first 2 weeks or so the game is pretty good. so I'd review it around 8/10 but given that I played for the entire month of beta and since launch i'd give it a 6 now :/
if they had delivered all they promised it would be brilliant.. I hope that upon re-visiting this game 3 months donw the line or so it will have a number of the things they said it should have.
At which point i'll be staying up until 5am just to play AvA
@godking1212 Yeh I played from March 2009 in Alpha, I know the game pretty well. Right now the game heavily relies on the AvA which is mediocre. Give it a month or two, if AvA doesn't shape up the game will lose steam. I played AvA for a week, none stop and really I had more fun in Bad Company 2 in one sit down than I did in a week of GA AvA combat. Sounds like I'm advertising, but really it's true. GA doesn't stand up to it's competitors, and whether Hi-rez thinks that or not it doesn't matter.
@Psychronicle I got completely sucked into the game with the trailer "and you could be this close to finishing a technology to help you dominate a whole region, the other agencies know this..." but this isn't in the game. heh although the last week of beta with AvA.. CP got no action at all, so boring O.o
The game is worth buying even without AvA, you just want too much boy ^^
AvA is still free cause they know its not finished, really big content patch is coming soon now.
GA is best MMO ever in my eyes due to awesome community work from Hirez and a playstile that really fits me.

Planetside was an AWESOME game.. the only reason that it failed and is failing now is because of the Mech they implemented.
Hybrid games are the future. FPSMMOs ARE the future.

Predictions after March
-Trueskill will have acquired enough data to rank and match up pubs
-there will be a campaign
-60v60 AvA (along with some purpose or reward for alliances that do dominate)
-probably those same alliances will dominate the first few days of reset but I pray to the Zerg god that conquest wont b broken
-less tedious crafting
-"something" open world rather than all instanced
-all the stores in the dome will open
-and for the love of god be able to repair your upgrades

@Metsuro By the way, I like the way you present yourself, you're constructive and I like that. You have no idea how many posts I had to remove due to people saying things like 'dude this guy is scrub lawl faggot' comments. Thanks for the exchange of opinions and maybe I'll see you in Bad Company 2.

You actually may, however dont let me anywhere near the choppers. I'm not used to pc fps im an 360 fan. I crash choppers in 3 seconds flat.

60 thing.

@msmith5150 6 instances of linked 10v10 is still technically 60v60.

Fair review.

P.s this is UnreaL
