i agree with you, i do enjoy oblivion a bit better than fallout 3 but there's something in fallout 3 that oblivion is lacking and it's pretty hard to put my finger on it. sure, i find fallout 3 to be more emersive than oblivion and i feel more attached to the characters in fallout 3 than oblivion but there's something else, something that every time i look back at i feel like playing fallout 3 but it's impossible to explain. i don't know if it's just me, or maybe you feel it too :S

I think being in a lifelike world like Cyrodiil beats being in a blownout wasteland like Fallout 3 anyday. And I do prefer strategic sword fights over shootouts. I know Fallout 3's world is bigger, but it's barren and empty compared to Oblivion.

Just so everyone knows, or doesn't know already. The next elder scrolls game is comming out 2010 and is going to most likely be in Skyrim, although some people still think there's a chance it will be in sommerset isles. so if you didnt know, now you do and if you did, then you just wasted like 7 seconds of your life

Oblivion is my favorite game and i don't even own it yet but im getting the GoTY edition, I expect to get the absolute most out of it as i can, besides i love fallout 3 until i got to the level cap of.......20 and i did all the quests and i had the best armor (T-51b) and all the best types of weapons (Ol' painless = hunting rifle, Victory rifle = sniper, Vengeance = gatling laser, etc) i just run around fighting and killing things in one hit and I've discovered all locations in just 1 month.

oblivion is my fav game ever. imo fallout 3 lacked what oblivion so expertly nailed and that is (well 2 things actually)

#1 - Quest Lines (aka guild quests)

#2 - FUN!!!

fallout 3 is an immense game but it never gave me the kick oblivion did, oblivion had over 300 addition quests not just the storyline

no game ever made will top oblivion at least for a few months or years
