  • Yes,,, fuck it up!

  • instead of soldering the additional fan wires to the normal 360 fan you should of soldered it to a 12v point so if ur fan were 12v it would be more powerfull :D

  • Don't think you should've cut stuff out of the GPU heatsink. Its already small enough.

  • YLOD is on old PS3 (Phat) rarely on new Slim PS3, but is not imposibile, I'm a PlayStation fan, so everybody with his favourite game console!

  • Is the GPU heatsink stock? I have never seen one like that. If its not, where did you obtain it?

  • @xXDEICIDE216Xx

It Is a stock heatsink, but modified by me

  • @xXDEICIDE216Xx there is a similiar GPU Heatsink Fan MOD. Go to google and type in Airflow Cables.

  • too complicated, get a PS3 ;) no RROD

  • @Agent007VIP No RROD but YLOD

  • @Agent007VIP and get Ylod instead ?

  • is it still going now mate or did it give up on u again please be onist as well

  • dude i love how the GPU fan is there hella smart but i think a fan should be vertical insted of being horizontal

  • i got 4 fans in my xbox and 2 built in cut thru plexy glass but thats something i never tried, might try tht wit my old jtag lmao :) nice vid

  • This isnt such a compact console the xbox was origionaly ment for :P

  • Nice Mod!! Another idea would be to remove the DVD Drive with 20 inch cables and put the DVD Drive on top of the console or behind the console. With the DVD Drive out of the way, you can put a bigger Heatsink on the GPU (use the XBOX360 2nd generation CPU Heatsink). 20 inch DVD Drive cables are available - go to google and type in "airflow cables"

  • This would work allot better if the fan was a SLOT cooler style where the fins face one direction. Where the fans actually direct the air towards the back so the exhaust fans can suck that air out better. This fan is to be mounded upright.

I'm sure this still works though and its a good idea :D I have yet to do it myself.

This is the best idea for the GPU i've seen though besides actually removing the DVD drive in favor of the Hard-Drive for backups

  • how you do that...

  • What's with all the power supply rig?! Couldn't use a normal 12v adapter if he'd preferred an external source?

  • oh and your gpu fan technicly helps but still dont you see at the bottom end of it it will be blowing hot air around the casing there for heating up the whole shell and then overall in time causing it to gain degrees of heat rather than get rid of them :) common sence man though it does look nice in all honesty

  • you know that , thatsmall black fan would work alot better if it was actualy flush against the cpu heatsink blowing the hot air directly from it straight to the back fans and out aha jsut thought id mention it

  • I sure do hope that 360 is jtaged

  • atx power supply on a 360... worst idea ever.

  • @Tytytucke wrong, brilliant idea, more available wattage = less rrod.

  • I don't understand why anyone would want to use a PC power supply for a games console.

  • @MattLoaf92 when he made the video power bricks still costed around 50 bucks. Llamma website ha a tutorial for making a high wattage power supply for the 360 for replacement. They guy either burnt out his old PS with fan mods, or needed the extra wattage for it. 360 power supply is weak, alone with no mods the 360 take about 80% of its max wattage alone depending on the model GPU.

  • I'm thinking to do the same fan mod. What I'd like to know is how cool does it get when it's closed up in the case

  • why didnt you solder the fan to the motherboard ?YOU FUCKING FAIL

  • Blowing hot air in circles = fail !

    Do you use meth ?

  • @SDUndisputed Exactly! Why didn't he just do the case mod and put a hole on the case then the fan he has installed would pull fresh air straight to the place he wishes to cool down. I just don't get some people... Making hot air go round in circles then saying its gonna cool something down is the same as putting a fridge inside a fridge to make the second fridge cooler. It just does nothing. One word for this whole thing... #LOL

  • @ ginncorvus did you just hot glue the fan down? Nice rig by the way

  • well done for blowing hot air around the case (Y)

  • why add a diffrent power supply?any benefits?

  • what are these stuff called so i can buy one too....i dont know what ot search for on thenett shops

  • @TheRogueMonk It's my personal idea, i dont followed any other works of other people. It's not in sale.

Can you find some similar heatsink+fan of some vga card and adapt it

  • Is it still alive?

  • y would u cut out your heat sink the smailler heat sink the less time it tskes to get hot cause all the heat is in a tiny area

  • you make that circle for the fan cooler or it was just like that

  • @onlymetall I made it personally. I dont think there are heatsinks on the market of that type, perhaps in some vga adapter...

  • there goes your cash

  • Omg, alot of work...

  • Where did u take the longer power supply for the xbox 360's dvd?

  • @Dearth123 It's the standard drive power supply cable. I only used a more long sata cable for demonstration.

  • @ginncorvus Ok thanks :)

  • How'd you cut the heat-sink to get the fin in there?

  • @carrier7676 Whit a hole saw for metal

  • @ginncorvus Thanks! Just one more question. What kind of fan is that (the little one inside the heat-sink), and where could I get it?

  • @carrier7676 A standard 40mm fan. I cut the external square. Then i fixed on the heatsink with a silicon glue hight temp resistent

  • @ginncorvus Thanks, that is a great idea you had, good job pulling it off too!

  • @ginncorvus are you italian?

  • How did you cut out that 60mm hole? I thought of a hole saw but the arbor (drill bit guide) would put a hole right in the center.

  • Come see my video Fan shroud modification the best mod you can do! This is my personal idea and works like a charm! for keeping equal air flow going throe the GPU and CPU.

  • Is that an older Heatsink ,or newer?

  • @proximxr

    It's a older day-one type (alluminium)

  • @ginncorvus

why do you need that PSU?

    the xbox PSU is 205W

and the xbox only uses 175W on full load.

new jasper xboxs only use 150W...

so that 55w to play with....

also take out your mother board from the case and look where the power supply plugs in. under there you will see some soldering.

    theres a 3v,5v,7v and 12v source there ;)

  • I'm selling my 360 before it breaks the 4th time and selling all the games and buying all ps3 and wii games from here on. Just too unreliable and no excuse for it. I will never support such a failed piece of crap hardware as the 360 again. PS3 is rock solid. Microsoft just rushed out the 360 and used cheap parts so as to beat the PS3 to the market and since people are buying 2nd 360s as they are getting their's repaired microsoft has not fixed the problem because they are not losing anything.

  • i would replace the stock DVD player with a HD or Blue-Ray player :)

  • @comanche119 What the fuck is a "Blue-Ray" player?

  • are you mentality retarded or just plain fucking stupid?

  • @comanche119 So you didn't get the joke.. There's nothing called Blue-ray but there is Blu-ray..

  • its a habit that i add an E at the end of blue....

  • @comanche119 Hah, it's ok the comment was based on irony :Pvery common that people think it's spelled "Blue" instead of "Blu"

  • i knew it was "blu" i just forget all the time not add the "E" for blu-ray.

  • @MultiViews can you spell "RETARDED"? He knows its spelled "blu-ray", its just a habit to put an "e" at the end of the word.

  • How many watt's have your ATX ?

  • 400W

  • ok dats lamee...u cut da gpu heat sink to attach a fan now let me ask u>> da fan blowing air to where?? da dvd drive is blocking da path..initially da heat is comming bak to da sinkk again..better u would have attach da new cooler from nyko dat does not consume power from ur system..nd da processor does not need da fan cause it does not heat up at all and rrod happens only cause of da gpu gets loose by heat

  • @ashrafvai In the words of pulp fiction "English mother fucker do you speak it?"

  • AHAHAHA funny shit!

  • Bro i have many extra fans.... but i have no clue where to atach them and plug them into?? how did yuh do it??

  • or screw or glue

  • rofl man u cut out the most important part on the gpu heat sink!!! thats were most of the heat is right under that fan.... hahahahaha sucks to be u..

  • The things we do to keep ourselves entertained..Nice job tho!!..im still tryinta figure that whole V.G.A. to monitor deal...

  • I need Help I put 7 pennys on my xbox and i herd a pop and my fans stoped working help?

  • lol you shorted your fans

  • @bloodgenius1993 shorted or burnt?

  • why put money in console, you blew a fuse it happened to me thats the console dead funny boy though mine happened due to static discharge enjoy

  • why would you put something that can conduct electricity in your xbox for? what where you thinking???!?!?

  • it had elc tape

  • so why would you still do it i had elc tape on a penny in my xbox and almost fried my xbox

  • most people said it worked

  • well it dont man

  • Why did u do it?

  • i thought it would work but all it does is screw your xbox up to make you spend more money

  • exactly people told u it worked.

  • yea lol i guess you got me there

  • lol ya

  • lol

  • Nice work props for that

  • I mean if you have the powersupply and the fans already in your stash, go ahead and do this. But otherwise get the intercooler TS and hardwire whatever other fans you want into it instead of a powersupply that uses wayy to much extra wattage and noise and bulk

  • @cobrafied If I'm using my Xbox 360 to play a game, I don't hear the fans cause the sound is up to 11. Nothing like a nade going off and having the people across the street hear it :)

  • and the point is ? it aint gonna perform better

  • it will increase the life of the product and a less chance of the "RROD". just like anyone would add a new fan to their pc. they're not going to get any performance boost but they can sleep easy that their system is nice and cool.

  • @TurbulentG to keep it running xoooler and less likely to get rrod

  • nothing wrong with that at all! It looks quite similar to what is done on many PC vid cards.

  • dude ur a noob u used the wrong type of fan..... all that is gonna do is... nothing apart from create more heat... no matter which way up u put the fan the air wouldn't circulate ans that is a flat peice of metal above it(the dvd drive) and the heatsink is directly below it... u should've used a laptop fan.

  • i agree a laptop fan would have been better!

  • the bonus fans rigged the the standard fan power supply, they just sap power form the standard fans anyway so does that make it kind of pointless? i hooked up some fans to an external supply, a battery charger for a broken remote control car

  • thats cool i was thinkin about putting the dvd drive outside the xbox. and what exactly does the power supply do? is it just because you dont have one or does it help in someway?

  • in the center of the gu main heatsink... you should have put a laptop fan becase all the fan deos is blow the hot air up on the disk drive witch then the air get's sucked throught the heat sink again making it hotter than it nomally is. a laptop fan spreades the air out through the side of the haet sink making it cooler

  • Ok its cool that u can do it but whats the point? does it actualy make any diference?

  • you never get the RROD with the gpu fan^_^

  • really gpu fan prevent rrod whatever the type of motherboard did u tried this yourself??? thx

  • fair play with the fan uder the disc drive could u sent me a link on how 2 do it plz

  • No links! It's a my idea. All home-made!

  • o cool fair play

  • DAMN I didn't watch the whole video but I just noticed the other fan under the DVD drive supposed to be! So many questions I have to ask.

    1) What size is the fan?

    2) Does it mess up the fitting of the DVD drive?

    3) And is that the one that I'm supposed to drill directly? If so, I thought you were talking about the third small heatsink. Because that's the fan I was wondering what size that was too.

  • How would I connect the fans on there? I know where to solder for 12v, but I wouldn't know how to place that securely on top of the heatsink

  • I used a special silicon glue for hight temp (above 100°C) or you can use a 50mm generic vga fan and fix it on heatsink by screw

  • Alright, what other size of PC Fan would fit on that? 70mm?

  • Max 60mm

  • Alright now I now what to do. Thank you. Hopefully it would fit nicely and not having that heatsink heat so fast.

  • hi fella very interested to did ginncorvus inform you on what tool to use for the grinding the heatsink trying to get some info

  • i had the same idea, but i didnt kno how to do it

  • Hey does that GPU fan actually cool it down? I was thinking of doing the same exact thing just now but I don't want to ruin the heat sink if it fails to cool the GPU.

  • I connect the fans to back-fans together and the temperature is quite low. If you want increase the performance you can connect gpu fan to 12v directly, but more noise...

  • Is it possible to change the video card in the Xbox too?

  • Nice work on the gpu heat sink, is amazing, How you do that?

  • I used a cup cutter, an iron cutter, hacksaw for iron and a lots of patience :o)
