  • hey as long as they're peiping they cant blow shit up.....i'd let these blokes back into the empire, if that half-naked fakir (as churchill called ghandi) hadn't fucked with the old order

  • @wotrabbitfish You're an ignorant asshole.

  • @RayKalmNiam gee, i try to be nice & ye shit all over me, well have fun wiping your ass with yer left hand as is the custom over there, & good luck with satyagraha when its the chinese calling the shots, i dont suspect they will be so accommodating of your national aspirations as the British were, "sin loi do ma"

  • @HelmutVillam, CAPITAL LETTERS

  • as my dad says the stupid high pitched paki pipes ! i quite like them although they are quite high pitched and the snares a chocked on the drums and they cant do rolls properly , tbh i quite like what theyve done, i used to see them at all the competitions before there visa got declined and they used to go on with some sorta bongo drums aswell but hey as i said i like what they have done

  • Why are people so rude, so crass, so bitchy? Any chance of some more constructive/adult comments ...?

  • Good percussion work! Just about the only thing that make's this worth listening to!

  • I bet they AREN'T using pakistani bagpipes...

  • @SyrianPride1488 Hey, for all your pride, has your country ever seen democracy? Both India and Pakistan are democracies. Even with its troubles, Pakistani press and society freely and openly express their opinions - do people in Syria have this freedom? The only time your country had the balls to fight a real war against Israel, you got your asses kicked, and lost the Golan Heights. Bet you are proud of your army, killing unarmed civilians - at least your soldiers are brave enough to do that.

  • @SyrianPride1488 All caps...The official language of the Fucktard.

  • I bet they DON'T use Pakistani pipes...whatcha wanna bet? The Pipe Major is good with the mace. I thought he may decapitate someone as he slung it around (just in jest).

  • I bet they DON'T use Pakistani pipes...whatcha wanna bet?

  • I belief some you guys are nothing but racists and bigots. Go get some brains and get an education.

  • Play your own traditional folk , that's not it

  • probobly the most -dass uniforms ive seen.

  • Yes, but notice they are not PLAYING Paki pipes.

  • i need the contact detail of pipe band in lahore. can any body know about the contact detail?

    moon_umer2003@yahoo.com

  • I believe this is a Battalion Band from the Baluch Regiment. I can see that from their Tartan.

  • bravos cest superbe sur quelle marques de bagpipes joue ce bagad?

  • Originally, bagpipes come from the Middle East/Asia Minor region. The earliest known reference to bagpipes dates back to late second millenium BCE in the Hittite Empire that ruled over Asia Minor and Western Iran. Bagpipes were played in Western, Central and South Asia before they came to Europe.

  • @eegurbeevur Not actually true, the evidence is so minuscule that there isnt even an argument. And you would have thought that if this were true, the natives would still be playing... And out of the blue on the other side of the world celts play bagpipes. Its easy to compare something we have today, to something we try to recognize in cave paintings. Its a celtic instrument, get over it.

  • @animalnt Where did i claim that the bagpipe is not a Celtic instrument? I merely presented a historical fact that wind instruments with bags appeared first in the regions i mentioned. The modern Celtic bagpipe may very well have arisen all by itself, or it could also have descended from those earlier instruments. If it did, that does not make it any less Celtic. And have you ever actually looked at a world map? Europe is not "the other side of the world" - West & Central Asia are pretty close.

  • @animalnt One last point: There is no rule in history that just because an object or practice arose in a particular region in distant antiquity, it must remain entrenched in its land of origin for all times to come.

  • @eegurbeevur Without celtic countries taking pride in in their own instruments and allowing it to survive for so long, should be recognized as a celtic instrument, just as the sitar would be recognized as an indian instrument, and with that point, it asks the question "why are pakistani's using celtic instruments to represent their country", how long have they been using bagpipes in their army for? what did they use before the bagpipes? :)

  • @animalnt

You are completely wrong about the ethnicity of bagpipes.

Every nation in Europe has its own kind of bagpipes, be it the Germans, the Slavs, the Celts or any other indo-european people, if you search you will find a bagpipe in its cultural pre-christian background.

The celts used this instrument mainly for war, from Gallaecia to northern Scotland, from Ireland to Germany and that's the reason why it is regarded as a celtic instrument, because war leaves scars.

  • @raonipaes Thats true aswell i guess pre-christian. Europe had alot of instruments and i dont disagree that other EU countries had bagpipes. Just its mainly associated with the celts because even after christ, they held onto the instruments and music.

  • @animalnt

Yeah, actually people used bagpipes all over Europe up to the 16th and 17th century but it seemed to die as the luthiers became scarse and "easier to play" instruments were introduced to popular and classical music.

The first European instrument to be played in Brazil was a portuguese bagpipe, for example, but nowadays only a very small number of persons play this instrument here.

The french Musettes de Coeur and Irish Uillean Pipes are highly elaborate and complex to play....

  • @animalnt Your comments are bordering on the puerile... "why are pakistani's using celtic instruments to represent their country"... seriously? One might ask why Brazil uses soccer, which is an English game, to represent their country? Also, by your argument, Celtic nations, or anyone else, should not use the military marching band at all to represent their country, since that was an Ottoman Turkish invention!

  • @eegurbeevur Your getting the double reed pipe mixed up with the complicated modern bagpipe. Even then its prehistoric dating to the egyptians, far-east and ukraine. This bagpipe your seeing in the video, is celtic design and so are the reeds. and has been like that for around a thousand years.

  • very exciting drum score.

  • pakistan zindabad....

  • the corps of drums aint too bad. have seen an heard worse ( have played in them too, as a wee boy )

  • That's not a hackle... it's a sail!!!!

I saw them that day! they not that bad! better than some of the people who caim to be pipers!! Liked the kicking of the leg at 0.05 seconds.

  • omg....if that's Bonnie Dundee they're playing at 1:45....it is poop....

hey, atleast they get points for snazzy uniforms lol

and def. points go to the snazzy drum major! thats some fast mace-handling there (but yes, there ARE better drum majors)

  • @CmGHaures

It's the second part of A Hundred Pipers

  • actually it harks back to when pakistan was under british rule. the english left cricket and us scots left the pipe bands.

  • @LOL probably an auction to sell their moms to the saudis....har har.

  • They must be playing those Pakistani-made pipes.

  • These guys are a superb pipe band. They'd win prizes anywhere in the world. Well done!

  • lols this fully shows that pakistan was made by briton.. ahahaa

  • @territorialafghan

So playing pipes make a Nation being made by the ones who are the Pipe MAkers? If thats so, Afghanistan is made by filthy Animals. Thats why there has been since ever so much bloodshed there.

  • isn't this a scottish tune?

  • pretty good..

  • Alot of pll here are complaining about their tuning and other stuff must remember tht in the Pakistan army band members are soldiers first. Band duty is something extra tht soldiers join to get out of night time guard duties or working teams.

  • nice great job¡ pakistan armi zinda abad

  • Just awsome! Reminds of the old days once my dad was in army...Not sure but the uniform colors appear to be of BALUCH Regiment.

  • sooooo nice

  • so lovely!!

many thanks for sharing Asif bro...

  • simply beautiful

  • nice one,

    thanks for sharing

  • Great job! This first tune is "When the Battle's Over", but I don't know the other tunes.

  • what grade are they ?

  • I wondered what a "tuning is optional" world would sound like.

  • sarzy07--they are not taking your Scottishness away. During British Raj the bands were like this and it is still the same. Nothing has changed. You will be surprised how much of the Britisth influence is still there .Visit Abbotabad and Murree in Pakistan and you will feel as though you are in the English countryside..

  • Great tune great band from paksitan

  • must admit they can play the pipes!!! well

  • its funny that they use the same mass band 3/4 drum score as my pipe band does

  • they actually sound really good compared to g4/3 bands""

  • They Shud Stop Taking Away Our Scottishness [,,,] Make Up Yerr Own Instrument Fae Yerr Nationality ! Ther Terrible [,,,]

  • unacceptable.

  • you sure this isn't the pipe band from oman?

  • yeah this is not the oman pipe band.... they actually sound really good compared to g4/3 bands, I met them in scotland and competeted against them, their drumcorp also has a good sound

  • My friend Jevon likes them. He likes everything, no matter how bad. He is very eclectic becasue he thinks it makes him cool. Then when you say that something sucks, he accuses you you of being narrow-minded and shallow. Its very convenient. It's almost like he is a Democrat.

  • Which regiment are they from?

  • They are from Pakistan my Friend

  • oh and its george sq in glasgow not bradford town hall.

  • it is bradford because we organised them

  • its the piping live festival in the week leading up to the worlds.

  • Well.. they're clearly paki pipes huh...

  • Thanks i know this Band last time i have meet and they visit in our factory and buy some bagpipes and drums.

  • awesome unis!

  • is that George Square, Glasgow..???

  • its bradford town hall

  • wow! not easy good show by Pakistan

Most of the Brit army soldiers were from Pakistan and won the highest number of Victoria crosses.

  • Now that is some statement. First of all Pakistan did not exist in World War II. The British Indian Army got the maximum number of VCs and they consisted of people from today's Pakistan, India and even Nepal.

  • Most decoration went to Pushtuns from the NWFP(North west frontier province) and highest VC from Asia also. Pakistan geographically did not exist but in the minds it always existed after after 1857.

  • Most decorations went to recruits from the Panjaab. If your claim is true perhaps you could source it.. thanks

  • hey there's this thing called tuning

  • they probably tuned. they just really suck...

  • its the chanters theres like 4 different ones floating in there. i watched them tune for the parade this year.

  • @piperboy91 these bands date back from the time that britain ruled india as it was then. this is their pipe band music. they might tune their piped differently from yours. is that ok?

  • @piperboy91 You are under the assumption that Paki pipes can be tuned.....silly boy....

  • @piperboy91 Paki pipes cant be tuned ... they are different from BAG pipes ... they just look alike ...

  • realy good pipe band nice one

  • Wow Pakistan actually has a real pipe band ?

  • Yeah the bagpipes originally came from the mid east. The Irish just sound better at it

  • irish?

  • His one man Mr. Abdullah handle the stick he is very nice person last time he talk with me and buy some uniform accessories from us.

  • that was the oddest counter marching I have ever seen

  • called a spiral counter march it looks fancier when theres alotta people in a row

  • thats quite the get up the have their

bad tuning on their tuning tho

    for pipes and drums

  • Hey guys watch it; please be nice. I am ex-Pakistan Army!

  • Sorry to say that the chanter is out of tune. No Offence =)

  • Tune you're High A's thats horriable. No way its the microphone its shitty tuneing.

  • that high A is awefull!

  • why is it so hard for pakistani bands to get tuned together?

  • u r wrong mate. its the wind on the mic thats what makes it sound like that. if u really wanna see what tune and precision is.. check the video of the military band in my favourites.

  • Oh my god, you've got to be serious?

    DID YOU LISTEN TO THAT?!

It's not the wind mate, it's the fucking tuning.

    I'm a drummer and i know that!

    LISTEN TO IT.

    IT'S AWFUL.

  • why is it so hard for pakistani bands to get tuned together?

  • Great show. Strut that stuff, Major!! :)

  • Guys the top note and out of tune is because of the recording. I have been to the Military tatoos in Pakistan and the precision by the army bands is amazing (I say this having heard and compared multiple recordings of Edinburgh Military Tatoo to those of the Pakistani Army bands).

  • The '97 Tatoo had one of the Pakistani bands. They were really good.

  • great!

  • The top note of most of the chanters is out, and painful.

  • Excellent!

  • i want 5 minutes and 15 seconds of my life back.

  • They are fucking good !!!

  • LOVELY! it would be great if u got the whole thing. the nxt tune they were playing is a pakistani folk song, its wiked wen played by bagpipes n drums!! thanks for the upload!!

  • nice

  • I like their hats!!

    way better than a glengerry

  • lol this video is sick. there drum mayjor is awsome lol. even though there out of tune. still pretty awsome

  • George Square, Glasgow

  • great vids Jim.. dont suppose you managed to get the one of yourself playing in the RSMAD in Glasgow during the PIPING LIVE WEEK ?

  • Tune at 1:20 is "The Hundred Pipers".

Interesting transition from 3/4 to 6/8!

  • pretty cool! I like their Regimental Dress Uniforms. Distinctively Pakinstani, yet British influence. Good to see a combination of both cultures (local dress with Pipes & Drums).

  • they sucks

  • No, they blows! Great video. Pity there wasn't more protection on the microphone to cut the wind noises.

  • love the counter march...

  • yeah, it got the PM back in place, on the right side of the band. looked cool haha

  • which song they play at 1:20??

  • right back at ya!!! Good point.

  • "Only at the Worlds..."? I'd say you may find a few of them in Pakistan too :)

  • Can you tell me where this is...is it any festival??
