no :) ... remember the woodsticks/fire part from the beginning of the video... this heats the stones, the water tank is just a water heater. simple but as CTOL1 said, great use of resource
That's a whole lot different way to use sauna than here in Finland. Here we just heat the damn thing to 100'C and toss some serious löyly, not forgetting the vihtominen :)

Now are the stones heated by thewater coming from the hot water tank? If that is so, then why is there a vent above the stones?

Love the heat siphon water heater, no moving parts other than the water itself
This water heater concept can also be done with solar tubes in a window box...
Great video vorojtsov

Do the Russians jump into cold water or beat themselves with birch branches like the Finns?
flyhead2 2 years ago 8
Yes, absolutely! The advantage here is that the river is quite close and you can run to the river.
vorojtsov 2 years ago 6
@vorojtsov no, they beat themselves with oak branches, never birch.

Dry Sauna, that is interesting :D

Its not dry if you throw water on to the stones. And I trust they do it in Russia just the same as in Finland.
