I think it's more a matter of wanting to live a healthy, strong life. Would you rather live to 70 but have your health be terrible and slowly deteriorate starting in your 40s? Have a heart attack or two first?
Although I believe I understand Taoism well, I believe that what's more important than longevity is living a life relatively free of pain and suffering -- imagine living into your 80s, but looking and feeling like a 30 year old, and dying in your sleep.
Poor cute little girl... I hope you keeps practicing & studying really hard so one day, she can be a star. But for the old Monk, grow up grandpa. No-one can live forever... By the way, I'm older than that Wudang nun LOL - just kidding.
you know madam li did not say she want to live forever? Jade dragon in chinese says she is 100 years old but in english, it translated into' she live forever' it is a kind of english saying which means she live very long.
By the way, I don't believe immorality, I think immorality in chinese means a person actually die but they go to heaven after death.
Yeap that's right... Becoming immortal for Taoist practitioners is not to live forever but to ascend into the heavens as a god or deity aka become one of the "immortals". It's kinda like becoming a saint.
Is the Xingyi practiced in this clip of the Hebei branch? / What branch of Xingyi do Wudang people practice? Is the master in this video named Wang Li Ping the same Wang Li Ping in Opening the Dragon Gate? and, are you a Tang Shout Tao practitioner?

alright in all seriousness; I think its wrong to have your life dominated by Kung Fu.
One day when I'm strong enough mentally, I genuinely want to help people.
Lao Tzu says, the sage is like water
"it can stay in places loathed by men." One day I hope to be so strong mentally, I can stay in a place loathed by all men.

therein lies the paradox; you train hard in martial arts BECAUSE they are a waste of time!
correct me if I'm wrong but.... aren't extremes a bad thing!?

Now, I don't mean to beat people over the head with anything but...
"the sage treats all things as straw dogs."
- Lao Tzu
Martial arts are a waste of time, however, charity is not!
"Wanna help? Grab a ladle!"

The question is why do you want to live that long?

Yes, exactly. It's foolish to think the physical body can actually exist forever - even taoists know that. It's subject to the laws of nature.
