I still don't like it. I think that the announcer of a show like TPiR shouldn't be funny. They should be straight while the host is funny.

@sr71ablackbird I have noticed that too. I think that is because of time. All they want to do is rush everything along. The quicker the get the product plugs and the game done, the quicker they can go to commercial. TPIR reminds me of GSN.

I know it's unfortunate that Rich is gone but George Gray is doing a wonderful job as announcing. Mike Richards just doesn't understand improv comedy. Rich is an amazing announcer. Too bad he didn't get the job on Wheel Of Fortune. Maybe when Johnny Gilbert passes on, he could announce for Jeopardy!

Unless the show can find a legitimate replacement, Rich Fields departure marks the end of a true, classic announcer. The Price is Right may never have a Johnny Olsen, Rod Roddy, or Rich Fields ever again.

This is sad on SO many levels. Mike Richards should have NEVER fired Rich Fields! He is missed VERY much and the new improv comic announcers sound horrible.
I can tell you one thing: Mike Richards, you better be damn proud of what you've just done. You better enjoy your masterpiece of dumping a talented announcer like Rich Fields for some Prop Comic Announcers, b/c if this move FAILS, you sir will be the one living with your fate as the guy that single-handedly tainted a part of Americana by tainting The Price is Right.
For once, someone might have been able to say "A DismantleGreedia production..." on the stage...though unfortunately, it's unlikely Rich knew this was going to be his final show.
I wish they would go back to closing credits like this all the time instead of a tv promo and small text credits crunch at the bottom of the screen.

In the show itself, seems odd these days to have a closing of 1:00. Viewers got a treat this day.
