  • Eric Clacpton knows he is an amazing guitarist that's why he has him in the line up.

  • I notice that Doyle does not have really large hands or long fingers. That is very impressing! He works it!

  • Doyle is a great guitarist,Songwriter,&his vocals more polished as he has evolved. He& Charlie together are mind-blowing, they are so tight!

  • nice

  • Anybody know what wah pedal he's using on this performace???

  • @douggydaddy Doyle uses all analog gear. He has been using the same king Vox wah since the 80's. The King Wox wah was the exact model Jimi Hendrix prefered to use in the 60's. You can either shell out for a really expensive Clyde Mccoy wah or the Fulltone copy. In my opinion just buy a VOx wah an mess with the internal pots and pentiomenters until the circuit matches the original Vox. I'm from Texas an that's what I did with my wah. Sounds exactly like this.

  • So sad Doyle Sr. died today...

  • who has got lyrics ?

  • Clapton in the background taking pics of Doyle...2:11, pretty amazing...

  • Love the song, can't find it anywhere that would allow me to download it to my ipod. I own the crossroads dvd that has this on it. anybody out there that knows how to find this?

  • Doyle approach to this song is something really refreshing. His touch, his wah wah expression (the flare) some how reminds me of the legend Jimi Hendrix. Great stuff!!!

  • Doyle is a guitar god. does anyone know anything about this song? is it a Doyle original, is it a cover? i can't seem to track down any info on it. thx!

  • @dantesinferno6923

It's based on one of the old Alan Lomax field recordings of Prison Songs. Here's the 'original'.

  • @justin4453 oh thnx man!

  • @justin4453 Thank you Sir!

  • Can't get enough! Outstanding and great musician

  • great song and feeling, however it sounds like something from Peter Gabriel solo albums... could you help me to find the song? I mean the part that JJ Johson and the bass player sing toghetter.

    .

  • Respond to this video...

  • First saw him w/ Roger Waters in '99 & 2000 and went and got his 'Smokestack' release...OUTSTANDING!...as is all of his stuff. Guitar, Bass & 2 Drummers...now THAT'S Rock & Roll!!

  • ...this guys is pure Texas music royalty and it shows here....his performances never fail to impress.

  • hehe, watch Clapton taking pictures at 2:12

  • Little shot of Bill Murray at the end, nice.

  • This man can do no wrong.

  • @grillbat

Could not agree more. He's got such a soulful unique touch. I saw him in Austin and it could have gone on forever and I wouldn't have cared.

  • @chrisdgoldie I know what you mean...like i hope heaven is filled with concerts like this Doyle is the man!!!

  • Reminds me of old slave work songs.

  • I wish i was there! Your the best!

  • This dude is awesome. I had the crossroads dvd but somebody stole it

  • Just one of the most underrated Singers, Songwriters and Guitarist out there. I love his music and his playing since I've seen him play on the first Crossroads-DVD.

Doyle is the perfect example for the sad truth that those musicians who make money and rule the charts are by far not the best musicians out there....and I count Doyle as one of the best.

  • AWESOME!!! AWESOME!!! AWESOME!!! Does that mean he'll be touring again???? DAMN hope so!!! Been TOO long since he's done anything. I've Always wanted JJ's seat in this band...so doyle if you're watching...!!! I JUST as good...dep?

  • I love how Doyle can get that psychedelic sound when he plays. I dig it~ you dig? ☮in☮out1

  • EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
