It was a plastic bottle (I didn't know perrier came like that 'til I found it).

The trick is insulating the speaker so you can't hear the source sound. You'll want a bottle with pretty solid plastic, even then coat it with duct tape.

I've also heard that using a PVC pipe cap works excellent.
