Can you sucessfully remove the substrate from the bag and keep it sterile to pour into jars with more substrate or will they become contaminated? I prefer to use jars and keep the jars in a tub with water to keep the humidity high.
You can, but you should keep the enviroment you are working in as sterile as possible. Spraying everything including yourself with 90% alcohol helps with that process. You will also need to make sure your mushrooms have room to grow out of the substrate without touching the glass. Let us know how it grows!
You can harvest several times from each kit. The better you care for your patch the longer it will last. The kits come with very good directions for multiple flushes. They might go dormant for a couple of days after a heavy flush, then start producing again. We will post updates as they grow.
