If the tooth was covered with debris or dirt (after falling on the floor for example), you should only rinse it gently with water, not wash it under the tap. Otherwise, you'll be removing precious pedriodontal ligament cells that will make re-implanting the tooth impossible. Hope this answers your question :) ^^

Honestly, why do you have to panic and make them bite on gauze/washcloth and then see your dentist to make sure there are no teeth fragments left in their gums?? It's a fucking baby tooth. Let it fall out and keep it if you're creepy, nothing more.

@silverponylover999 Because when baby teeth is not ready to fall out yet they have to be put back in cause what happens is because the tooth not being there the premolars that grow after take advantage of the gap instead where they are really suppose to go, like this... the premolar is supposed to drop straight down, if you have a gap that isn't supposed to be there the tooth goes in that direction instead, making a diagonal turn that blocks the canine from erupting, the roots are in the way.
