  • A much better Beatles tribute band is the Fab Four. NOT The Fab Four, just Fab Four.

  • too bad they don't cover the really good stuff.

  • Sadly we lost Gary (Paul) Last February. He will be Greatly Missed!!

  • Gary Of 1964..... Has Passed Away..

  • saw these guys in omaha nebraska at a free concert. it was the best money i never spent. they were absolutely amazing!

  • Saw them this past weekend at the Bass Hall in Ft Worth and I tell you what its like the beatles are up there singing. Its amazing how much these guys are like them

  • idk, look up Rain, they were amazing live

  • seeing them june 5th!!! so excited!!!!!!!!! :D

  • im seeing these guys this summer i cant freakin wait!

  • These guys are really good ! I have seen Rain (another tribute band), these guys are as good or better.. good stuff!

  • Their close to twice the age of the Beatles when they originally perfromed this song live and have had about ten times as much practice playing it than the Beatles would have. Still, it is incredibly good and I'm sure the Beatles themselves would find it uncanny.

  • damn enough said

  • absolutely fantastic. a lot of the Beatles tributes just cant do the northern UK English accents.... this is spot on. The John Lennon is ace.

  • But none of the beatles had very thick accents... Paul sounds pretty posh and so did John.

  • @Enslaved10 What does posh mean?

  • @viceisthename I think in this case , posh would translate as well spoken, middle class etc

  • @thirlestanelodge2 Okay, thanks. :P

  • @viceisthename see coments to blackpoolrok

  • @thirlestanelodge2 What's that? :S

  • @viceisthenamewhat is what?

  • @viceisthename oh I ment "blackpoolrok" but now I see that it is the guy channel.

  • @blackpoolrok the Beatles have Scouse accents, which is much more particular, than northern English.I am from the north of England, and I certainly don't sound like them at all. Scousers are from Liverpool/Merseyside Scouse is a kind of stew that the locals take their name from. It is a corruption of Lobscouse a scandanavian stew from the Vikings invation

Most people love the Scouse accent if they can understand it, which makes the comment about the Beatles being posh, all the more realistic

  • I have seen these guys 5 times since 1990 - awesome

  • I love this song! Best BeaTles song of all time!

  • the fab four is way better but these are pretty good

  • They're nice for those of us who were far too young to ever see the Beatles in person. I was lucky enough to at least see Paul though. :D

  • I met George, the nicest Beatle. He gave me a glass of champagne.

  • @thirlestanelodge2 The real one? :P

  • @viceisthename yes, the real one.

  • @thirlestanelodge2 That's cool man! Tell me more please!

  • very nice, greeetings from a great italian fan of the BEATLES!:)

  • The bass player is Gary Grimes.. He is actually a right handed guitar player that learned to play bass left handed for the act. amazing if you have ever tried it's impossible but he did it. I've seen them at least 6 times and never get tired of them they are soo good

  • I've seen these guys twice and I always wondered if the bass player was a lefty or not.

  • Very nice, that, lads

  • Holy Guacamole they even went to the trouble to get a left handed bass player! Amazing sound!

  • He is really right handed.I have seen these gentlemen a couple of times and if you love the Beatles they will rock you!

  • i've seen three other Beatle tribute bands and these guys are the best by a huge long shot!

  • i've seen these guys maybe four or five times? yeah probably four or five. It's amazing how many little details they use in this band that only a huge true beatles fan can notice! but even if u don't notice them they are a amazing!

  • im going to see them on the 14th!!!

  • I saw these guys 3 yrs agon at the Chicago Theater...Now I wasnt around when the fab 4 were out n about (born in 1979).... but these guys are the real deal!!! Listen to the song "in My Life." The guy that emulates George plays the piano lead on the guitar.........pretty f***n amaizing if you ask me =)

  • I just saw them tonight and they were amaizng.

Front row seats in the balcony.

    It was great fun.

  • I have tickets to see them in four days. Four rows back!!!!! I am SO excited : )

  • i saw them tonight!!

    they were beond AMAZING

  • I'm going to see them at Carnegie Hall Saturday Jan 10!! It's the premier Bealte band event of the year...

  • Im goin to see them in February :D

  • half step down

  • edit this video into black and white and it'll trick everyone into thinking it's the real beatles!!

  • Saw them recently. Nice show, very authentic, right down to the flat-wound Pyramids on "George's" Gretsch. The lead guitarist was spot-on from tone to note-perfection. I was dissappointed in two things: They ended the show with "Money", an awful non-Beatles composed song, and they never thanked or acknowledged the Beatles during the show.

The Beatles were, of course, the entire reason we were there, and the entire reason this tribute makes a living covering Beatles classics. Good show, tho.

  • Money was an inspired cover by the Beatles, written by Berry Gordy, and giving Motown much needed exposure at the time--Gordy gives the Beatles tons of credit for drawing attention to Motown--it was a very important and historic cover by the lads.

  • i play in a beatles tribute and dont thank the beatles .SORRY, they should be thankin us for keeping the music live and alive, and money is a great song, the beatles closed with that alot in 63 in england cuz my dad saw em close with it at wolverhampton!

  • How egotistical of you. The Beatles' music would be alive without the help of tribute bands. I can't believe you'd say that.

  • just bought tickets....!!

  • I must admit I was a little skeptical also, but, these guys were fantastic. When I saw them at the Strathmore the had a 16 person orchestra with them for about 8 songs.I had so much fun at this show and I have seen everyone over the last 35 years. This is not a ''cover ''band. This is a high quality music production all done with musical talent and a minimal amount of props or distractions.

  • Well said. I've seen several other Beatle Tribute bands like Magical Mystery Tour (aka Twist and Shout) and they had a huge orchestra with them and a large piece of glass behind the drumset which spoiled the illusion.

  • Seen these guys several times and they are nothing short of INCREDIBLE! And this is coming from a die-hard beatles fan who has always been a huge skeptic of the Beatles imitator bands. Go see these guys...you will be so glad you did!

  • I can't believe I'm going to see them at Red Rocks on the 23rd!! :D I hope I can get tehre early enough for great seats! The guy playing John, he's got the right posture! :D I really dig that. ^^

  • i like that they actually separate the "yea yea yea."'s. Alot of people say it as one. They're personalities are the same too! this might be my favorite!

This John reminds me of John in hard day's night at the end where they're doing the concert. Well done lads!

  • the best

  • I've seen 1964 The Tribute 3 times and without question they are the very, very best Beatles tribute band ever!!! Every song they sing is tight vocally, instrumentally and visually. They really did their homework. You can see they went to great lengths to fine tune every detail of their performance. You won't find another band that even remotely comes as close to The Beatles as these guys. See them in person and find out for yourself.

  • have they ever met or performed in front of paul or ringo ?

  • Hey jimrock63? I just emailed Mark Benson who plays John in 1964 The Tribute. I asked him if they had ever performed in front of a real Beatle or ever any of them. As soon as he gets back to me, I'll pass it along to you.

  • Mark Benson (aka John) just emailed me with the answer to your question. Their drummer met the real Ringo in Myrtle Beach, S.C. at the Palace theater were he was the sound tech at the time. Gary Grimes (aka Paul) talked with the real Paul on a program called Rockline when McCartney was promoting his new CD "Wingspan. Ringo and Paul have never seen 1964 The Tribute perform in person... but have heard their performance.

  • thanks a lot 128Pennsylvania

  • seen em three times. better in person

  • wow...great similarity! Got to see this!

  • the cavern beat rocks more, no one sounds more like the early beatles

  • 1964 rocks!!!!!!!

  • these guys are really great! i saw them at my local theatre. i cryed I was so happy!

  • I just saw these guys at the Roanoke festival..The best Beatles tribute band i have ever seen and im from London England. If you ever get the chance to see them, take it, They are awesome.

  • i saw this a while ago it was reallly good after the show i got autographs and pictures and "george" gave me a guitar pic its still in my room!! =) BEATLES ARE AWESOME

  • Best tribute band ever!! I just saw them at the Va Beach Sandler center, I hope they come back.

  • haha i just went to the one in muskegon mi!! it was awesome

  • I Have seen 1964 "She Loves You" four times.

They are a GREAT show. But, this part, She

Loves You....is absolutely awesome. I didn't particularly like the song as a recording...but the harmony from a live stage setting, with these amazingly talented people, is just amazing. If you like the Beatles do not miss 1964. They have been the Beatles longer than the Beatles.

  • 1964 is the Best Beatles Band in the world! (tho of course they will never replace the real thing)

  • Personally, having seen the Fab Four countless times, as well as MANY other Beatle bands over the years, I do think the FF are the best all around tributes (all period Beatle sets). Nonetheless, this version by 1964 is one of the best live renditions of "She Loves You" I've had the pleasure of seeing/hearing. Like I said, I prefer the FF, but my bandmates disagree.

  • THE CAVERN BEAT is the definitive beatles cover band on you tube, check them out doing "PS I LOVE YOU", THANK YOU GIRL..ETC and see if you dont agree

  • I have seen 1964--they are very good !! I have seen Beatlemania---they are the best!!!

  • they did a great job the stance and everything. Doesnt sound exactly like the beatles but who can pull that off?

  • I've seen this band, The Fab Faux, The Fab Four, Strawberry Fields, and I can break it down like this. The Fab Faux does the best job of playing the music. The Fab Four does the best job of being what The Beatles would have been if they kept touring *with the costumes and songs* 1964.....The only thing they're good at is recreating a Beatles live concert. But they need to mix it up more. I wouldn't go see them again if you paid me. Sorry, but the best ones out there are The Fab Faux!

  • wow i could really believe it's john lennon standing there

  • Can't tell you what a FABULOUS show this was! It was just as if I were listening to The Beatles!! And I don't care if Paul put on a few pounds, so did I, and he is awesome! You guys ROCK!

  • Yea, 64 is the best for sure. I do like the Beatles tribute band out of Cincinatii, Ohio

called 8 Days A Week. I saw them in Michigan City Indiana and they totally rocked. The Paul was right handed but he really became Paul on that stage. George dosen't really look like George but he played exactlly like him.

  • hey do they only do early Beatles tunes?

  • Yes they only do early songs through Revolver ususally (And Your Bird Can Sing). They don't do costume changes. I've never heard a band do the early stuff better than 1964...amazing show

  • i saw them there are fantastic

  • Looks like Paul has put on a few.....

  • not what I was expecting...

not bad, but they still need a little more practice... well done though, closer than most copy's

    johnlemmon...

  • Nice resemblences! Sounds like them!

  • I've seen these guy live a few times and they are just amazing. I saw another tribute band in Vegas, like the Fab Four or something...can't remember the name...but they did not come close to the authentic sound of 1964 the tribute. If you love early Beatles...you will thoroughly enjoy 1964.

  • fab four buddy and these guys always play a different key of every song the fab four RULE they dont just play the early beatles they play all of their songs

  • Fab four aren't quite 1964 the Tribute. I promise you. 1964 is as authentic as it gets. 1964 only plays early Beatles (when the Beatles actually toured) and authentically replicate those Beatles years. If you have a chance, you must see 1964, and you will see the difference between them and Fab Four. Almost no comparison.

  • Wow, they are actually pretty good. Even have the mannerisms of the Beatles down. The "john Lennon" character especially has john's stance perfectly!

  • I saw them in Northampton on Friday too and the Paul I saw Friday night was the best! Better than in '06.

  • Actually, this "george", shown here...is not the "George" I saw last night"...and in '06.

  • yeah they got a new ringo and george

  • Saw them live last night in Northampton, MA. for the second time in 2 years. This time there was a different "Paul". He was good, but the original "Paul" shown here, is excellent!

I refuse to see this group again without the original "Paul"

Another interesting thing is when I saw them in '06, they did not have amps on stage hmmm..Some Youtube video postings are evidence to this point. Last night they had VOX amps set up. Can ayone clear this up? And where is "Paul"?

  • ive seen these guys 5 times. when you are there at the concert you'd swear it was the beatles. they are right on the money. if you've heard every beatle song 500 times like me, you can tell if they nail it or not, and these guys nail it.

  • THese guys are smooth and great, being a guitarist, listin close ive seen 'em twice, know mr. lennon and have talked to him many times, wont give his real name up sorry folks!

  • ummm Mark Benson?!? yeah im pretty sure they dont hide their names. Super Amazing band. Although i did just see Rain a couple nights ago and they might have overall been better. I think I like Rain and 1964 equally, but Rain is more of an experience and their Paul is BREATHTAKING. Seriously, his voice is the closest sounding to Paul I have ever heard in my life. It was almost scary. If you like 1964, you would love Rain!

  • huh.

  • 1964 blows the doors off of the fab faux.. not only visually but their music and vocals are many times better. see 1964 live and you won't forget it.

  • The Fab Faux are not a Beatles tribute band. They are musicians who love The Beatles and would never dream of trying to imitate them so they put their own spin on Beatles material. Sorry but Beatles tribute bands and the Fab Faux can not be compared. Like comparing apples to oranges.

  • OK ive met these guys the one that plays John is a dickhead, the one that plays George aka, Johnny Pou is a number 1 guy, and finally paul played in a band called the bootleg beatles. Ohhh sorry Ringo, PERFECT

  • Yeah the FabFour are great too. They're both tied for first! I love the FabFour's second set with Sgt Pepper and Imagine and Day in the Life. They're amazing !

  • i dunno, doesnt sound close enough to the original beatles. even the music sounds a bit off, i dunno...pretty good i guess. i prefer the fab four though, just my opinion.

  • The Fab Faux sound great and do very complex Beatle songs. But visually they just don't do it for me, or others. One of the greatest aspects of the Beatles is their looks and stage persona and charisma. 1964 Tribute and the Fab Four capture this as close as possible

  • Who is this group, they're pretty good but I don't know who they are...

  • Well I finally had a chance to see 1964 and have come to the conclusion that the "The Fab Faux" are better. It was still a good show.

  • Interesting to hear your comments. When I was at a Beatle Festival in Louisville, about half the people liked the non-look-likes better and half liked the look-a-likes...usually for reasons other than "sound" or "talent" also.

Personally I'm in the lookalike camp.

  • Hey I have a question.....i hear that these guys are playing in Andover, MA in October. i would like to know if its true, and if so, when, where, and at what time. They're amazing!!!!!!

  • NOT THE FAD FOUR, the fab faux. completly different. go and learn some shit before you give it to me.

  • STFU the fabfour are cool now! i mean their practillay the ebst bealtes show in the world

  • I've seen these guys over a dozen times since the first time on Valentine's night in 1985 and they get better and better every time.

  • The Fab Faux are probably the greatest NON-look-a-like Beatle band. They often perform the entire White Album or Abbey Road perfectly. But they don't capture the feel or persona or magic of the Beatles and their personalities.

  • Sorry guys, no one can touch "The Fab Faux"--they rock me the way the Beatles Do !

  • Damn right! Fuck 1964! Go Fab Faux!

  • Tribute bands in general scare the shit out of me.

  • are those guys "the british invasion"?

  • pretty good !!!!

  • They are the BEST Beatles Tribute band in the world!

  • Tell me about it, this is really freaky.

  • 'tribute' doesnt do this band justice...i saw them last august and it was creepy. they are exact doubles.

  • Quite wrong. This band does great justice.

  • i meant their name doesnt do them justice in the sense that they're pretty much clones not a tribute band

  • Take the "John" of the "Cavern beatles"

The "Paul" of "The fab four"

    The Ringo of "Yesterday"

    And the "George" of 1964

And that would be the ULTIMATE beatles tribute band.
