@JagGswagg I don't doubt that fact. Ink will become a cult classic though when people start to realize that it was an amazing movie. Ink was only made with $250,000 so most assume it's bad because of low budget or just don't hear about it because of low commercialization of the film.
@BeBopDeluxe85 How can you say that? Everything that happened in The Grey was portrayed in movies already. Nothing really suprising happened in it. Ink is all original.
Why are so many people commenting like this song was made for The Grey? Seriously, go watch Ink and be blown away by unique, original ideas that separate it from every other movie out there. Yeah, The Grey was great, but Ink was phenomenal.
@biblemanisgreat Probably because people haven't really heard of Ink. The Grey is the latest movie out and this soundtrack was used. We can't really blame them for not knowing Ink :P
I would imagine that the alpha was dying, as well as Ottway. If Ottway had lost, the other wolves would've devoured him, right? But if you kill the alpha, the pack backs off. That's what I've heard, so I'd imagine that Ottway got the alpha into the state of dying, and Ottway would'v later died as well, wounded, no food, etc.
@Spartan2240 There is no definite ending. It was left vague on purpose, as so few movies do these days. It lets you decide what happens. Its sad how spoonfed everyone is these days.
@EvaDeLaSmiley True, true, and that's the fun of it, isn't it? People, in a way, get to "make" their own ending to the movie out of the vagueness given to them.
@Spartan2240 when the alpha dies a new one will practically instantly fill the leadership void. He was as good as dead which is why the lines are "Live and die on this day. Live and die on this day"
@fire2box not really, it's depends of the pack, there are packs and packs. you cant say something like that with 100% certainty. What has happened in real life before, in case of the death of the alpha, was either the beta take the leadership, or the pack flee away. But the outcome of this battle is meaningless, since the real message here is Ottway, he evolves from a man that wanted to run to death to a man who while accepting fate, would fight against it.
@fire2box Live and die on this day means something much more than what it reads, it says that everyday of your life there is a chance you will die, but dont be afraid, live everyday of your life to the fullest like it was the last, approach everyday with the thought that you might not be alive by the end of it but do not let that scare you, dont be afraid,be strong. Thats why he was talking about how his dad never showed any weakness, because he lived his poem, he wasnt afraid of each day.
one of the best endings to a film ive seen in a long time, powerful yet still enough of a sense of wonder at what might of happend. keeps you thinking long after the film has ended. for me thats what a good film should do.
I saw "Ink"a few years back and i love that film, especially the soundtrack. I was really surprised to hear this song in "The Grey" earlier today. It's a beautiful song and means different things in both movies, but i thought it totally worked in both.
This music style is Adagio in D minor, from what i've gathered. They use it in this movie, Ink, Sunshine, and KickAss. I'm sure there are others too. I wouldn't mind this kind of music playing on the day that I die.
the best song ever...and best movie ever...ps we had to write a poem in school and i copied Once more into the frey Into the last good fight ill ever know live and die on this day live and die on this day
This is a very common chord progression that dates back to the 70's and has been used more recently in film scores. there have been several interpretations of this chord progression from notable composers such as John murphy (Sunshine, Miami Vice) and Hans Zimmer (The Da Vinci Code, Inception). You will also here this exact recording or others like it in movie trailers. Almost every notable composer nowadays uses this progression. Sometimes it's badass and sometimes it showes lack of creativity.
Once more into the fray; into the last good fight I'll ever know; To live and die on this die; To live and die on this die. The music made it intense.
This kind of reminds me "London" by James Newton Howard from the movie "Blood Diamond". I heard this in "The Grey" though and it made the ending fantastic
