I can't believe the audience didn't cheer at 1:37-1:55! That little flight of innovation was breathtaking. And through it he never looses the pulse, pulling the audience along in their memory of the beat and rhythm while he solos. Just love it.
Hi Stingerfyle glad you enjoyed this, you wont find tabs for this 'cos this is Tommy being Tommy and its just an awesome display of improvisation on a theme. Best to pick the basic melody out and then work around it yourself, have fun.
Hey bud, don't suppose you got anything else to load up from that night? Looks like he was in great form. I imagine T is cool with uploads because they help to sell out his concerts for starters, but also probably feeds his CD and DVD sales because he is not a 'top of the tops' artist. I certainly buy them.
(hehe) spankdoobius, you've got an adventure ahead of you. :) The 'creepiness' is mostly from poor lighting. Look for 'Guitar Boogie', 'Mombasa', 'Classical Gas', and 'Angelina' by Tommy. See if you still find him creepy after those.
Yeah, I'm a big Tommy fan, but he does look creepy in this vid, doesn't he? Dunno what it is, maybe demonic possession ;-), but he kicks de debbil out and plays his julep, anyway.
Like RMNhobie said, check out his other stuff and see if you still find him creepy.
Thank you for taking the time to write such an eloquent synopsis of that magical evening.
I have been fortunate enough to experience similar magic with the virtuoso from down under. It's hard to find words to describe the feeling. You did a wonderful job.
I'll just make a quick correction to your comment "I strode in alongside Tommys'daugher Antonella and her mother". His daughter is Angelina. Great video! :-)

This comment has received too many negative votes show
I dunno...not just this vid. He's pretty creepy as a human. Vive le Django. Now there's a guitarist.
spankdoobious 3 years ago
Oh, I see! You just want to argue about "who' s better, Tommy or Django?"
someoldbag 3 years ago
that's not an argument.
