  • Hey isn't that a pocket trumpet? Cause aren't piccolo trumpets like 4 valved?(:

  • @akress2121 it has 4 valves

  • Space city? Sounds like you're from around the houson area :P

  • @IAmexicoI Si!

  • Yeah, man! Great chops!

  • what's up bro? Nice playing! This is your friend Mr. Browne! I haven't posted anything before. You have just inspired me! Keep up the great work!

  • I bought a pic. on E-Bay-Have a real appreciation for your talent as a musician, its a tough instrument to play.

  • i think that picc sound awesome, where can i buy one?

  • The picc sounds fabulous!

(Some comments here should be deleted-nasty stuff...)

    Thanks for a great post!!!

  • The complimets are greatly appreciated! I really need to record this again too.

I'm not too worried about the haters, there's one guy (who's probably a good player) that has done some of the mean messages, and he's why I had to disable the ratings. Maybe he's jealous (or vice versa, maybe he's better than me) and wants my work. Either way, there's no excuse for poor behavior.

  • Amen to ending "potty mouth" writing on this site. The haters seem to crawl out of the woodwork esp for trptrs' posts.

I consider the trpt to be a Divine instrument (if I may be so bold), and it seems that the "teenage mentality" takes over some of the younger devotees when they post comments here, & it's an attempt to ruin good recordings such as yours -this should not be the case, but I can't help being a little angry when seeing rude manners on display for us ADULTS to read.

    Very sad.

  • Sounds fabulous!

It's a VERY difficult picc piece to play correctly & con mucho gusto!

    Thanks for a great post!!!

  • its a knaw

  • Ive heard penny lane billions of times since i was a kid and believe me i couldnt recognize a single note of what you played!

  • this guy is a proffesional musician, he's in the Canadian Brass, dumb ass....... hes a better musician than you could ever aspire to be

  • No hes not. Hes not in canadian brass.

  • No, not in the Canadian Brass, have met them several times though. I just love their arrangements. This year I'm handing this part off to the new player in our quintet, he has killer double Cs, so high picc stuff should be a breeze for him!

  • I agree. Wow their arrangement of Penny lane is killer on the chops. I went to a concert where Brandon Ridenour even took some parts down.

  • BTW, just as a side note, Brandon went to Juilliard, and I met him a few years ago. I'm proud of one of my previous students who is there now, hopefully/probably on a similar track as Mr. Ridenour.

  • You can totally hear elements of Penny Lane in that. Just a little hidden

  • this might be the funniest comment in any youtube video.. ;)

  • its the intro from the canadian brass cd, not the actual cd. i recognized every note of it

  • @AristYdes This is not FROM Penny Lane, it is an introduction to the Canadian Brass arrangement of Penny Lane, written by the Canadian Brass.

  • @AristYdes @AristYdes It's the intro that Canadian Brass arranged for it, don't know if anyone has wrote this to you yet. That's why it doesn't sound like it, it basically leads into Penny Lane. After this is section is completed they go to the original melody.

  • Yes, precisely, I've played this intro cadenza with the brass quintet piece a number of times. It's quite demanding but exciting and rewarding!

Also, I wish folks would take a look at some of my other videos, I have some which are much better than this, my favorite is the Albeniz "Asturias Leyenda."

  • Great intro! Although you went down the octave near the end, to be fair the new trumpeter in the Canadian Brass, Brandon regrettably went down several times when I heard them. Jens Lindemann plays the best Picc I've heard, and performs this piece flawlessly.

As soon as I get enough cash I'm getting either a Getzen or a Yamaha, because I love the sound and range of the Picc!

  • It's a Getzen; I had heard rather negative things about them until I tried one, but I like it. I'll try to get a better clip of this up soon, there's lots of other things pressing in right now.

  • What brand of picc are you playing?
