just a couple of corrections/additions. this is from the movie parwana, but it's from 1947, not 46. it was released after saigal's death in january of that year; and this song, baalam tope sabar pade, is his last song.
is it a traditional thumri? likely not...in which case it will be an interesting project to add a verse or two to the thumri and complete it in saigal's style.
i had added 2 verses to it with the help of a friend and sung it too..maybe 8 years ago. it is definitely not a traditional thumri as the mukhda indicates.

another possibility. it WAS a traditional thumri written by an urdu composer . possibly from lucknow?
