@burubuduy Press the volume up button while in FM mode. It should scan to the next best frequency. If that doesn't work, reset the unit and start fresh.
Hi, got some questions regarding the device... I want to connect it to my iPhone 4, which is connected to my car stereo with AUX "Mini Jack".
I want to use the Jabra Cruiser only for Microphone, and then use my car stereo as speaker, and I want to be able to take calls with my iPhone, and still use the Jabra as the microphone.
@youKanalen That would be great if you could, but unfortunately something like that is not configurable through the Jabra or any portable bluetooth sound kit that I know of). (It would only be possible through the iPhone interface, and then only if jailbroken - to date nobody has such a software mod available). I feel there definitely is a market for a bluetooth only mike as well for situations like yours.
@1982barrys You're welcome! You also have to have a relatively recent phone though (if you are on contract with a carrier, you probably have a recent phone). I can't vouch for a phone from the mid 90s with bluetooth for instance.
Quick question, what is the main difference from a functionality standpoint with the Jabra Cruiser SP715 and Jabra Cruiser SP710? What are the enhancements from the 715 to the 710?
@DavidMcNeil64 Functionally both do the exact same thing. If multipoint bluetooth connection is important, then only the SP715 can do it. The rest of the stuff is fairly covered in detail in the comments: A2DP control buttons, extra mike, slightly different interface.
Nice review, is there any difference in call quality between this and the SP 700? as the SP 700 is almost half the price and I don't really need the extra features.....Thanks.
You miss out on one extra microphone, and some noise cancellation. Callers that I've called could not really tell much of a difference though between the two.
@moophoto, would be interested if you've had any experience with the parrot minikit slim?, similar prices - no fm transmission on the parrot but I'm more interested in the call/speaker quality.
I haven't used or experienced the minikit slim. It didn't meet the criteria necessary for my use, which includes A2DP and FM transmission. NXT technology is decent and keeps the overall profile slim which is a plus. Not having FM transmission is a minus because you can't beat in car speakers. And like most reviews out there, there is no sample call sound quality you can hear :(. Well if you do try it out, let the rest of us know exactly what it sounds like!
OK, let me revise that. It will now let me hang up, though I have no idea why it has changed in the last few minutes. I think it is just buggy. Still considering whether to take it back or not.
Ouch. I got mine today, and I'm having a host of problems, some of which I've been able to find info on elsewhere:
1) can't hang up calls. How counterintuitive is that? I just cannot find a way to end a call with the device. Have to use the phone itself, or hope someone hangs up on the other end
2) forward and back buttons don't work
3) RDS doesn't work
4) as you noted, the contact info doesn't work
Very frustrating. If I can't end calls with it, what's the point?
I'm glad you got the hanging up part working. Your phone has to support those features available on the Jabra or you won't be able to use them. (My demo is with the iPhone 3GS) What phone do you use?
3gs, like yours. RDS is a supposed function of the Jabra, and I've seen a demo on YouTube with it working, but that was with a phone that had the contact info working.
From what I've read, it's something that the iPhones should be able to do, but don't, for some odd reason. They use the same contact type, but something is getting lost in translation. Same thing with the forward and back buttons. It looks like a "mapping" issue, to me...
Oh! How on earth do you get the multiport to work? I can't get it to let me add a second phone, and let's face it, there's absolutely nothing beyond the basics in the instructions, or on Jabra's web site.
I know what you mean. I just went on their site and got the instructions. Press the answer end button for 5 seconds. If it doesn't work, remove all pairing first - its a triple button combo.
Oh, can you post the URL for those instructions? I hunted all over and couldn't find them. The url's in the paper instructions that came with mine didn't tell you anything new...
@allergicone I tried posting here in comments, doesn't look like I can. Nor can I link out through annotations in the video. I did post on my site links to instructions and support site..
Thank you! Got it reset, and managed to set up a pairing profile on both our phones (hubby has an iPhone 3G). Talk about a pain in the backside! Oh well, it's done now! And after all this, we found the speaker that had disappeared in the first place, so he has it in his car now (Jabra SP700). So, all is as settled as it's going to get. Sad that a lot of features that should work don't, but that's a lot to do with how Apple programs.
I'm really glad you got that figured out! Finding the Jabra SP700 is a nice bonus. I never got to do a side-by-side comparison between the two but when I had the SP700 it worked out pretty well too, having the core features at a lower price.
The SP700, particularly for iPhone users, may be just as good a choice. With fewer features, but those features functioning as well or better than in the Cruiser, and the price coming down, since it's not the newest kid on the block anymore, will make it worth it to folks who can't otherwise talk to their phone through the car.
@svercellino21 - SP700 has one less microphone port; does not have the player controls to play, pause, skip; the power button is not a switch, but a push button; no multi-port bluetooth - one device at a time.
Hi, my jabra cruiser is giving me 88.2 signal but my radio can't get the exact 88.2, instead only 88.1 and 88.3. Do you know how to configure this?

@moophoto Thanks for the response.
What would you suggest then, other than Parrot systems?
youKanalen 8 months ago
Mike, is this the bluetooth speaker system of your choice at the moment or have you updated or upgrated to something else?
TheMasterOfDissaster 8 months ago
@TheMasterOfDissaster I've upgraded to the DriveNTalk BHF-2000. The core remains the same, but the additional features on it are unrivaled.

Hi
Can the Jabra Cruiser activate the iPhones voice control so you can call people without getting to the phone?
Great video :)

see above. For an iPhone user, I'd advise to get the SP700. With other phones, I don't know. I depends on how well the additional features work.
