But it was very minimal like most of his music, and most of my problems with Deadmau5 is that his work just sounds like it's building up the whole time. He's overrated, if you ask me. He's still good, though. But his newer work isn't that good, at all. Arguru, Brazil, Strobe, Alone With You, Faxing Berlin, were all very good, though.

@SpennyPwns I wouldn't agree that he's overrated. Personally, I think he is the only producer in the "top league" with actually quality and meaning to his music. Most of his stuff is minimal but with enough going on to keep you interested. What I absolutely love about him is that he has a great (possibly an understatement) feeling for melancholy, and this song is a pure representation of that skill. While this song is cool, it can't evoke the same feelings as his version.

@Jakedunc Well of course not, this song is a lot more dance-esque. While Deadmau5' is more minimal/proghouse. Most "top league" producers aren't about the sound, but the money. You've got people like Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, and Royksopp who have very distinct and emotional ties with their electronic music. Deadmau5' music isn't very unique, compared to many other artists. People treat him like he's the second coming, which I find absurd. I still enjoy most of his work, regardless.

@SpennyPwns I'm one of those people, you could say. Why? Because he brought back the faith in progressive house music that I once lost. Strobe is my favourite electronic song of all time and that tune alone is enough to set him far ahead of all other electronic artists doing the similar thing. I too am not a huge fan of his later works but there is a song here and there which stands out. But when I talk deadmau5, I talk Random Album Title.
