  • Greatest Uke Player of all Time - LLLOOOOOVVVEELLLLYY

  • Whoaa~ so magical! love it : )

  • Truly superb! I couldn't help smiling at how you covered so many familliar layered melodies in this song :0) Thanks for your post...

  • @dycheman - "dis.. I.. Likeee very much"

  • Wow! Just wow.... have recently rediscovered the uke. Trying hard to build up my repertoire. Can't see me tackling this one. What a brilliant performance.

  • this is so lovely

  • imagine trying to read the tabs for this song?

  • It's amazing what Jake does with the 'ukulele's four strings -- standard tuning at that!!

  • @Yomhas35

Jake says, "I am really a big fan of Queen. Queen is terrific/awesome. Freddy Mercury is a genius . . . . genius."

  • 1:03 What's with the surigal mask?

  • @Th3TornOutlaw Uh..........this video was shot in Japan? Do you think that's it?

  • @Th3TornOutlaw She has a cold and is wearing the mask to stop it from spreading. It's quite normal "over there."

  • This is unbelievably epic!

  • isn't it a ukulele it has only 4 strings

  • FENOMENO

  • Wow! That's insanely good!

  • Incredible !

  • Fantastic playing.

    Great.

  • This audience is so polite! They should be screaming and yelling in appreciation.

  • fabulous!

  • Some kinda giant japanese guy! look how tiny his guitar looks! We stand no chance! Wonderfully beautiful playing though. I for one welcome our new colossal samurai overlords.

  • @SexualTyrannosausage I guiess this is not a tiny guitar but a giant ukulele ^^

Not only because of the size of the instrument, but also this is tuned like a ukulele!

  • @cheewie69 A giant ukulele? now that's just madness!

  • @SexualTyrannosausage Ken Jennings could not have said it better himself. Still, I only watched this for the cuts entranced asian women.

  • @SexualTyrannosausage he looks so big because it's a ukulele, not a guitar.

  • @glittterandgabriel I see sarcasm is lost on you, or maybe you are sarcastic and it's lost on me. So hard to tell these days.

  • @SexualTyrannosausage his guitar looks tiny because it is a ukulele and he is not giant

  • @maikai196 You lie! you're one of them I just know it!

  • @SexualTyrannosausage okay I admit it. I am just so giant my head sticks 10 feet out of the sunroof on my car.

  • @maikai196 I knew it! And that's in those gigantic Japanese cars also!

  • @SexualTyrannosausage ah crap! you've figured me out!! I gotta go back in to hiding now!! Hopefully my basement is still big enough after growing 2 ft.

  • @SexualTyrannosausage : Jake Shimabukuro (born November 3, 1976 in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi) no matter - thought the same^^

  • Awesome!!!

  • That was truly wonderful.

  • That was truly wonderful.

  • Extraordinary. Sugoi, ne?

  • nice..!

  • If that don't get the girls ...nothing will !

  • Wonderful instrument wonderfully played. Whose definition of the capabilities of the instrument and the player was not expanded by this performance?

  • INSANELY GOOD!

  • that applause should be louder.

  • something unusual

  • One day, I will be him :A

  • This is amazing, truly what talent is. I wish the mainstream music media would focus on people like this, instead of stupid mediocre shit like hannah shit-tanna and justin beiber.

  • @Icebomb32 If you even compare with "hannah shit-tanna" or "justin beiber" your are way off the music road... ^^

  • @tuebalt considering I can play this song on piano, and this is the kind of music I listen to....I think I'm just where I need to be on the music road.

  • Jake has the hands of an Angel.

  • LOL, relax there young lady, it's just a fitting comment for such a great video. I have a felling you fit into the category Gmapchannel is on about below.

  • i really can't see how is it possible to dislike this... this tribute is perfect. simply perfect.

  • @beccah444 - I was being serious. What if you disliked a popular video because it evoked distasteful feelings and youtubers mercilessly demeaned you for it? Doesn't that seem callous and inconsiderate? Don't you wish they'd just stop for a second and think about who they may be ridiculing?

  • Everyone! Please, let's not pick on the few people who disliked this video. What if, when they were small, they had been molested, fondled, or otherwise touched inappropriately by their ukulele-virtuoso stepfather or foster uncle while Bohemian Rhapsody was playing in the background? How in the world would they be able to enjoy this?

  • @Gmapchannel Could you think about the people you're talking about for a second? You're making fun of people who have been molested. Me being one of them, I don't appreciate that. I know you probably said that in harmless fun, but next time, please take into consideration the people who might be reading this and how it might affect them. Thank you.

  • Replay.....for the 10th time lol

  • i was thinking awesome is an insult for this: it's way better!!

  • Japanese people love Hawaii, so I can see how this would be popular here.

  • ..it is like this song was written for this instrument..

  • This is awesome!... yeah this is real music, congrats Jake, keep on it!

  • wow. awesome. impressive. 1000 other superlatives to this man.

  • wow dude ur Awsome u shud do a Tour over here UK < Great Britian :D wud be cool :D Keep it going mate :D and funny enough i got 1 for this christmas :D Subscribed too :D GL in future mate From The UK <

  • This man is truely a genious.

  • @ImaJEWification and you're not. Considering you spelled genius wrong. Smart one.

  • @beccah444 im sorry grammer nazi.

  • WHY DOES THIS NOT HAVE MORE VIEWS!!!!!!!

  • Somewhere up above, Freddy Mercury is smiling.

  • Bet he gets some major pussy with this

  • @akira1500 LMAO!!

  • Man, this makes me want to ditch everything I've spent years learning on the piano and violin and get a ukelele and JUST PLAY!!!

  • I have to say I am totally shocked that this has only 22k views.

Honestly repulsed that many other videos rate in the millions and something like this has so few.

    Bravo

  • nice song but not a fan of the whole closed eyes, head swinging thing

  • Oncore oncore

  • Mr. Shimabukuro-san is a master!

  • standing ovation and a scream... woot

  • Amazing!

  • A japanese guy playing a miniature instrument. It doesn't get much better.

  • @dycheman no. i didn't think it meant "dis... I like." i disliked it to spite people like you so you could make comments like those and get thumbs upped and feel good about yourself.

  • @xridethelightningx You disliked it to spite people? Not because you actually disliked the video??? The irony is hilarious!!!

  • @dycheman i admit, i didn't actually dislike this video. what's really ironic is that comments like yours where you regurgitate some stupid chestnut from another video annoy me much more than dislikes annoy you.

  • @xridethelightningx LOL, relax there young lady, it's just a fitting comment for such a great video. I have a felling you fit into the category Gmapchannel is on about below.

  • @dycheman

    More like doucheman na?

  • @dycheman Haters Gonna Hate

  • That was an amazing performance . Who knew you could get that much range from whats generally referred to as a toy more than an actual instrument.

    Very impressive.

  • Wow. There are only a few of those moments in your whole life where you feel just absolute joy about a musical peice or a surtain performance...

    This..

  • this is what i love about ukuleles. they can make you really sad or really happy but never angry or depressed

  • boring music

  • he closes his eyes while hes playing sometimes its like he can just feel the music

  • yugosohi ado nih-ah aliea

  • yugosohi ado nih-ah aliea

  • I sang along.

  • Ok I know the whole "make a comment about the people who hit the dislike button" thing has grown tiresome; but seriously whoever did that on this video has absolutely no clue about music. I think it's safe to say the guys in Queen would be very proud and impressed with this beautiful, flawless performance.

  • Holy Ukuleles Batman!!!

  • really nice...bravo

  • i seriously want his uke cuz its probably the most beautiful instrument ive ever seen ever

  • jake is truly awesome. he is a great player and an awesome person. he performed at swim meets i participated in numerous time free of any charge. you can tell he truly loves to play

  • Great ... Very impressive

  • you should put this up for download

  • wow... jaw is on the ground..

  • Maui boy !!!!!!!!! good job jake

  • Maui boy !!!!!!!!! good job jake

  • It's a shame the only people that get actual attention are people like Lady Gaga and drug addicted pop artists. I would really love to see more people like you in main stream media these days.

  • best queen cover i have ever heard. great job

  • :3 Sweet sounding... Ahh! I wish I could skip school and go to Hawaii

  • haha i could actually understand what he said in japanese :P

  • @ryutatsu2 in the beginning - saying how crazy good queen is and that freedie mercury was a genius

  • @dhtjlghks literally he says, "im a huge fan of queen. they're awesome. freddie mercury is a genius."

    i think, i've forgotten a lot of japanese :P

  • @ryutatsu2 lol i never knew japanese, i recognized sugoi and tensai from anime =P

  • so beautiful I love you! and you are so handsome! Keep playing your beautiful music

  • betcha queen didnt expect a ukulele cover

  • i love how i can actually sing along with just the ukelele

  • It's so nice to hear this piece in a beautiful heartfelt context instead of as a silly novelty piece!

Jake, if you're in Chicago ever and need acoustic bass, please hit me up! :)

    Regards,

    SSS

  • God bless you and your talent dawg. Much respect from Brooklyn.

  • "Kid" is a relative term, meaning his youth. He's only 36 years old, which to many (including me), would be a kid. Don't be so serious and literal you silly little person you. Just listen to the kid play.

  • amazing. beautiful and serene. keep up the good work.

  • outstanding talent..

  • outstanding....

  • Very nicely done Jake.

    I love me some Ukelele.

Wonder if a rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody is possible on the banjo?

  • Comment removed

  • its ok, the people who disliked this video are deaf

  • I had goosebumps this whole video!

  • This is great. Good job jake. The 2 people who dislike this are dumbasses. Good luck with future songs and make sure you continue to post these on here because everyone who has seen them wants to see more. 'Cept for the two idiots who disliked this. :D

  • Much of his technique is carried over from classical guitar -- all those rasguiendos and false harmonics; more typically seen in works by Albeniz, Granados, Sor or Giuliani than in uke music. Well done, nonetheless.

  • I would like to hear explanations from 2 specific people before I slap them across their faces.

  • That was amazing dude. Great Job!

  • 2 tone deaf people dislike this video.

  • Ukulele Hero !

  • Wonderful rendition to Queen and Freddie Mercury...

  • ok, how would you hate this?!

  • how come corporate mainstream shitty music gets hundreds of millions of views, but real talent goes almost unnoticed? im scared for the future of music

  • @aloadedsixstring If it's so good then why hasn't anyone heard of it?

  • @steroidsR4wankers because the world is coated with a blanket of mainstream media that brainwashes most of our minds into thinking that real music is shitty. and im pretty sure you were listening to some real music as you posted that comment...

  • @aloadedsixstring What makes corporate music not real?

  • @steroidsR4wankers music without talent is not music, but im a musician so i guess its biased.

  • @aloadedsixstring Are you sure you're not biased because you're not making money compared to, say, Lil Wayne?

  • @steroidsR4wankers i really dont care about the money, all i care about is the music, which all musicians should care about, but not many do, and that brings me back to my original comment.

  • @aloadedsixstring Aight bro.

  • @aloadedsixstring Actually the world is coated with a blanket of High Organized Government officials whom live solely on the corruption of Man Kind.

  • @xjcandmFX The illuminati is actually controlling the radio waves and using bad music to brainwash the people.

  • @steroidsR4wankers Looking at some of the vids on YouTube, I'd say quite a lot have heard him... I'm looking at a vid in the suggested vid list of him that has over 193,000 views. Not all great musicians are well known though, just undiscovered by fate or choice, or not a marketable commodity which is what record labels want.

  • This is so beautiful.

    You're so talented!

  • He kinda reminds me of Rui from Hana Yori Dango :D

  • really good but it was a lil fast i played it with the real bohemian rhapsody and it slowly got further and further off. Great job tho!

  • This kid is amazing! How about American Idol Ukelele?

  • @tmg1968 He isn't a kid, he is mature, and he is already recognized as one of the best uke players in the world :)

  • way to go dude u rock that ukelele

  • Crazy

  • 2 people died of Freddie Mercury Aids.

  • @AustinAlexandur hahah epic comment

  • ridiculiously crazy...this gave me chills

  • suflet traduceti voi

  • terrible crowd... I would've been screaming like it was hiroshima!

  • @EatMySammich polite crowd. just listen and enjoy. no screaming until the end at least. then scream to your hearts desire

  • @BenHutto yep!!

  • @EatMySammich i wouldnt want to ruin the perfectness of this performance.

  • That was unbelievable. I'm sending this to everyone I know.

  • This is sure to hit the 30 million mark. I heard it first, I was here!!! Sooon it will be big!

  • Pure genius!!

  • i bet he got laid that night

  • i wove u ashan!

  • Wow man! Pretty excellent arrangement and flawless execution.

    You Da Man indeed.

I bet Freddy and Brian smile upon both you and Edgar Cruz for so perfectly

    interpretting their music.

  • If ever the fait of the human race was in the balance due to our ability to be unique and have the talent to be "wonder" full. This would serve as great testimony that we are, and we can be. Thank you Jake and thank you Freddie Mercury.

  • I wonder if that was mixed live...cause it sounds perfect...so sweet

  • Are people in Japan familiar with Queen?

  • @goansc

The whole world is familiar with Queen.

  • @goansc Yup. Honestly, Japanese people love a ton of American classic rock, you wouldn't believe it.

  • that was sooo perfect!

  • VERY TALENTED

  • How long did it take to spray paint all of the people grey like that?
