From what I understand, this Wolverine design is based on Hugh Jackman which is why he looks younger and a bit thin.

@ThicknSwift uh not really. Cathal J Dodd is the first "official" voice of Wolverine. Steve Blum is the second "official" voice for Wolverine. It might piss you off that Steve Blum is voicing Kikyo in this anime instead
The story-line is supposed to be based on the Wolverine limited series from the 80's, but Wolverine was middle-aged in that, and in this series, he looks like a teenager.

@juken16 i believe to appeal to japanese audiences, he had to look different in his personal anime. there arent many main hero characters that look the way logan does in the comcs(take it from a huge anime fan), so it was probably just to take off well in japan. Now, they can use the real version in X-Men because Logan isnt the hero, its Cyclops

@Fozzymillow I was thinking the same thing. I think Marvel assumes since anime is so popular, that it'll make their work even better. That just is not the case at all. Marvel, your company became famous because of how different and original you really were (back in the day). You shouldn't go and change your image now to lose what originally brought you all the success to begin with.
I don't think Wolverine and other superhero stuff are effectively presented through anime. It would be better if there was more realism instead of Jap style characters. but that's just me though.

Heh, you know, I'm not all that intrigued by these first two Marvel Anime. So far, the only good one they've managed to churn out was "Marvel Anime: X-Men," & that's the only one that I've been looking forward to as of this point in the series.
Now, if they made an anime of NEXTWAVE with the same team that did Gurren Lagann (since we already know that the director is a HUGE fan), I'd be totally onboard with that one :D!!

The story-line is supposed to be based on the Wolverine limited series from the 80's, but Wolverine was middle-aged in that, and in this series, he looks like a teenager.

Marvel and anime just... Do not belong with one another... And especially not with this scrawny effeminine men. I like anime, I do and I adore Marvel, especially X-Men. But putting them together is like mixing water and oil, it just doesn't work.

@juken16 i believe to appeal to japanese audiences, he had to look different in his personal anime. there arent many main hero characters that look the way logan does in the comcs(take it from a huge anime fan), so it was probably just to take off well in japan. Now, they can use the real version in X-Men because Logan isnt the hero, its Cyclops

I won't try to stand against or bend your opinon, but I will say that you should keep in mind that there are people that like anime that might see this video(or maybe Japanese people) that would be extremely offended by your comment(and not have as much patience as I do).
I will however say that the anime isn't exactly the best(though they DO actually pay more attention to the comics than most people give them credit for)and in part agree with TheTroubadourPath.

Marvel, your company became famous because of how different and original you really were (back in the day). to everyone who is going nuts about the new Wolverine, grow up. personally, I like the new look, and nobody is forcing you to watch the series.
The reason he looks like he does is most likely to appeal to the japanese audiences. there arent many, if any at all, anime that have a short, stoky man covered in hair as the main character, so its most likely for the anime's appeal overseas. if u dont like, dont watch. simple as that.

@SpcT0rres For one thing, his healing factor has reached up to the point where Wolverine can now suppress some degree of extreme pain in non-vital areas in his body. Another thing that his adamantium skeleton backs him up a bit.

Heh, you know, I'm not all that intrigued by these first two Marvel Anime. So far, the only good one they've managed to churn out was "Marvel Anime: X-Men," & that's the only one that I've been looking forward to as of this point in the series.
Now, if they made an anime of NEXTWAVE with the same team that did Gurren Lagann (since we already know that the director is a HUGE fan), I'd be totally onboard with that one :D!!
