I got the same ride; same color and all. Not to make you feel like a number, in fact quite the contrary as your taste is excellent and refined.
Wheelys are very difficult, and manuals even more so. J-hops come with replacing the pedals. I haven't yet broken my "Suntour Junks" yet, but when they do I will be so happy to see them replaced by ANY other brand.
Did you change your fork, I couldn't wait to get a better one, makes it like a whole different bike. I'm thinking about selling mine, I hardly ride it anymore since I got a full suspension bike, I was keeping for winter riding, but now I'm thinking about getting a fat bike for the snow.
I'm doing somewhat the same; getting a RockyMountianSlayer full-sus. It will most likely leave my 29er to rust, but since I ran into some military money I'm going to buy Crossmax29er rims and fit them with some 2.4s. That way I'll have the stock set of 2.0 wheels as well, just in case. I trust your word about the fork, just put in an order for a RockShox 29er fork.
Got a 2009 Hardrock 29er and have a Cateye computer, Cannondale C3 handlebar and stem, and some epic grips. Tried to make it a commuter but sucks real bad on the road with even 50 lbs of air in the tires. SPD pedals and some KROG lights. Bad jumper, great trail bike
Looking to make this my next bike, had a hardrock back in 96 and someone decided they need it worse than me and took off my front porch! Looks lie a nice ride just need one more for trail riding.
I'm 212# the forks were way to soft for me, if I turned in the preload wich was the only adjustment, then they deflected off everything, I cant wait to try out the forks later this month, for now I have been riding my new Gary Fisher HiFi Deluxe 29er, what a awesome bike!
@thereptilejunky It's a great do everything bike, I even put big 2" smooth tires on it and did a 35 mile road ride last month, I'm looking to upgrade the fork though to a heavier bigger travel one.
It's been a great bike to me so far, I did put a adjustable handlebar riser on, the stock one ws almost straight, made it much more comfortable, I also put a NitroPro Plush Gas Suspension Seat Post on it, wow what a difference, it soaks up all the bumps and tree roots, no more sore butt at the end of a 25 mile ride.
after 1 month on it now ive tried the fasttrack knobblies on it and there ok for most things but when things get really muddy the dont grip,so i aoid real mud now lol,but ive also got continental travel contact fitted, and these are a fantastic tyre for road and lite trail riding, like tow paths and stuff,so ive got a good balance of tyres for my riding
I like the fasttracks, they roll pretty good, and haven't let me down yet, pretty good for stock tires, like you said not the best for mud, but I to try and avoid it!
just bought the hardrock disc today..went for a blat and decided the knobblies were coming off for a more road based tyre,so some continentals are on and with some bar ends it should do me as its my first bike for 20 years...told it has a stong frame but the components are ok at best,so im on ebay looking for upgrades
I debated hard on the Rockhopper and the hardrock, if I was doing more agressive woods riding there was no question, but I'm not. What kind of tires exactly are you getting?
I went on a 16 mile rail to trails yesterday, the stock fastrack tires do pretty well, next year I'll probably try something less agressive also.
nice bike! im trying to find something that can keep me in shape, sence my crash i cant do much anymore, it hurts too much to dirt bike for long periods of time now..... im getting into street bikes a bit, riding around with my dad and stuff, its dificult trying to replace dirt biking
I used to ride road bicycles to a fault, and got away from it for a good number of years. Now I'm using the Mountain bike to get back in shape, and get back on the trail.
Sorry to hear that your unable to ride, I'm not even thinking about riding for at least a year, and even then I think my single track days are over, hopefully I'll be able to at least take a slow trail ride. I came very close to just selling all the bikes and saying the hell with it, but I want to wait and give it a shot.
nice bike, my dad just got one the other day, he test rode the one without discs, and then decided discs would be better... did the place you purchase from include lifetime tune ups and stuff? mountainbiking is a fun sport!
Welcome to the club man I to have one but I'd rather have a 69er.

Sucks that someone took your ride.
I just put a set of 100mm Reba forks on, much better than the 80mm Suntour junks.
