My favorite Christmas movie is Elf. I will agree that the climax of the film kind of struggles but it doesn't keep the film from being great. Home Alone is also a great movie, although the sequels (except for part 2) aren't very good.
I love the Grinch movie too, it's probably my biggest guilty pleasure! That was one of my favorite movies as a kid, and to this day, I still enjoy it!
I feel the same way about Christmas movies; I don't judge them as harshly as I might judge other movies. I love Elf and Home Alone as well. I like the live action Grinch (I grew up with it, too), but not as much as the animated one. My favorites are It's a Wonderful Life, A Christmas Story, Elf, Home Alone, The Santa Clause 1 & 2 (though I definitely prefer 1), and probably some others. I really need to see Arthur Christmas.
I know what you mean about there not really being any bad Christmas movies. I even found Unaccompanied Minors to be somewhat fun. I have to admit I haven't seen Eight Crazy Nights. I'll have to check that out. Great picks! Another one of my favorites is Jingle All the Way.
I know its a tad cliche but my fave Christmas film is It's a Wonderful Life. How come you never mentioned it?
