@BrianSanDiego1. I don't recall the make or model. All I can say is they were short and not straight through. More of an "S" flow through. It was a 3 inch system. Hope that helps.
thinkin of switchin my motor. i heard all you have to do to put a small block chevy in is to drill out one of the bell housing holes to mate it up. is this true? ive got a 78 fj40. figured id ask you since youv done it. sounds awesome by the way!
@dmille460 Hi there. I'd help if I'd done what you're looking at doing. But the V8 re-power was done using a alloy Chevy LS1 motor. Between the Toyota running gear and the LS1 I used a, "Marks adapter bell housing kit". Pretty cheap and made the conversion easy. Good luck. Pete
hey pete, well i still didnt get some pictures of it but i will definately post them when i do. So you think the 350 will do the job?? I was also considering the 2J (toyota supra) engine. For the gear i was thinking of going with the nissan patrols gear. What do you suggest??
Got some pictures of it? Personally for a repower I'd go for the LS1 injected 350 Chevy. Carborated motors don't like steep angles so much. Fuel injected is cheaper to run as well.
@coolq8y i have an LT1 it hauls ass and burns all 4, lacks a little torque on the low end but that thing will rip the snot out of u once it lights up!
Congrates on your purchase of the FJ40 Bader! You'll have to post some video of it. Stay tuned coz mine is being modified this month. =) The horns are air horns. My FJ40 hasn't had a lift, just new springs on 35 inch tires. Loving that Chevy ute of yours!! Awesome!

@BrianSanDiego1. Cheers. It was running just two mufflers. One on each side with a balance tube straight after the headers.

I'd go for the LS1 (injected 350) myself. Nissan Patrol running gear would be a good choice.
